Abstract

Ein modulares Steckverbindersystem mit einem Buchsen- und einem Steckerteil, die jeweils einen Gundrahmen (5) aufweisen, der eine im Querschnitt im wesentlichen U-förmige Ausnehmung (3) zur Aufnahme wenigstens eines mit Steckkontakten versehenen Einzelmodules (1) umfaßt, zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß jedes Einzelmodul (1) zwei zusammensteckbare und im zusammengesetzten Zustand das Modulgehäuse ausbildende Kunststoff-Trägerplatten (7) aufweist, zwischen welche Abschnitte von Metallbaugruppen (11) zur Ausbildung der Steckkontakte einsetzbar sind, wobei die Kunststoff-Trägerplatten (7) und die von den Kunststoff-Trägerplatten (7) eingefaßten Abschnitte der Metallbaugruppen (11) buchsenseitig und steckerseitig baulich gleich sind (hermaphroditisch).
