Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connector having a connection element which is provided for connection to an electrical line, and further comprising a connector pin having a connecting portion for a permanent connection with the connection element and a plug-in portion for a detachable plug connection with an associated contact socket.
- Such plugs are used to produce an electrical connection between the electrical line connected to the connecting element on the one hand and the contact socket assigned to the plug on the other hand.
- the connecting element is usually formed as a cost punched part.
- the pin is provided as a separate component in particular with a higher material thickness, for example, to ensure the required for the insertion of the pin in the contact socket stability.
- the permanent connection between the plug pin and connecting element is usually generated by a réelleversch spaung in the production of the plug. Such a spot welding is comparatively complicated and expensive to manufacture in an undesirable manner.
- connection element is attached to the connector pin by means of a clamping connection.
- clamping claws are provided for this purpose, which engage around a rear portion of the solidly formed connector pin.
- the intended for jamming portion of the connector pin may have a rib-like elevation, which engages in a gap between the clamping claws, so as to prevent a mutual rotation of the connection element and the connector pin.
- the US-A-5,207,596 discloses a connector for a coaxial cable.
- the connector comprises a central contact pin, a conductive sheath, and an insulating member disposed between the contact pin and the sheath.
- the central contact pin may be hollow to receive a free end of the inner conductor of the coaxial cable.
- a kind of "crimp connection" - or claw - between the flexibly formed connection element and the pin is able to ensure the desired permanent connection, if a different cross-sectional shape is selected for the connecting portion of the pin than for his Plug-in section.
- the clawing can be a caulking or else a crimp connection or press connection, and it can be accomplished in a particularly simple manner.
- the claw portion of the terminal member completely or partially surrounds the connecting portion of the connector pin.
- the claw section for example, have one or more claws.
- connection element is usually formed along its longitudinal direction with a constant cross section.
- known connector pins are solid with a square, rectangular or circular cross-section.
- permanent electrical contact is not always guaranteed with the desired security (risk of loose contacts), and also the mechanical support does not always meet the requirements.
- the invention allows a not only simple, but also safe and durable clawing by the designated connecting portion of the pin has a different cross-section than the plug portion, which is provided for receiving in the associated contact socket and with respect to the connecting portion usually on the other End of the connector pin is provided.
- the connecting portion of the connector pin has a cross-sectionally open or closed mold.
- the plug pin may have a spoon shape or a groove shape at its end provided for the clawing.
- claws which are formed on the connecting element, particularly easy and safe to engage or be bent.
- the cross-section of the connecting portion of the plug pin may also be a closed hollow mold which is compressed to a smaller cross-section when the clawing is effected.
- the plug pin tapers along its longitudinal direction, so that the cross section of the connecting portion is narrower in the direction of the plug-in portion.
- the connector pin with its connecting portion can be caught particularly easily by the claw portion of the connecting element, in particular encompassed.
- Such a narrowing can be provided at least in one direction transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plug pin.
- a multiple narrowing of the cross section of the connector pin along its longitudinal direction is possible, for example in the form of a Zackenmusters.
- the invention is further based on the idea to give the connecting portion of the connector pin with respect to the desired clawing a higher resilience than the claw portion of the connecting element.
- Such an embodiment of the plug according to the invention is based on the finding that the durability of the connection between the connection element and the pin depends on the respective resilience.
- the resilience referred to is the ability of the respective sections to counteract the forces applied in this case after the generation of the engagement.
- the deformability of a particular shape or material can be divided into an elastic and a plastic portion.
- the Verkrallung between pin and connector is particularly safe when the pin has a higher proportion of elastic deformability at its connecting portion than the Claw portion of the terminal element, and that proportionately and / or considered in absolute terms.
- the explained higher resilience of the connector pin, or its comparatively higher elastic deformability is preferably provided at least in such a deformation direction, which is transverse to the longitudinal direction of the connector pin.
- the plug pin has a lower deformation resistance with respect to the desired clawing at its connecting portion than the plug-in portion.
- the connecting portion can be squashed comparatively easily, while the plug portion can simultaneously have the required stability for the connector with the contact socket.
- the connecting element and the pin have on the respectively provided for the claw portion such different deformabilities that a correspondingly different restoring behavior and thus a higher mutual contact pressure is achieved.
- the explained criteria for the resilience or the deformability of the connecting element and the connector pin are realized by appropriate shaping of the cross section of the connector pin.
- a coating may be provided which has a comparatively low deformation resistance and / or a comparatively high elastic deformability.
- a coating or solder coating may be provided on the plug pin and on the connecting element, which has a comparatively low hardness with respect to the plug pin or of the connecting element and due to which the contact pressure between the plug pin and the connecting element leads to a cold welding or cold soldering connection.
- the coating may for example consist of tin or of a tin alloy.
- Fig. 1 shows a connecting element 11 and a plug pin 13, which together form an electrical connector according to the invention and which are accordingly provided for a mutual engagement.
- the connecting element 11 is an already repeatedly bent stamped part. It has at its front end a receiving sleeve 15 for receiving the plug pin 13. To the receiving sleeve 15, a claw portion 17 connects with two mutually offset opposite claws 19.
- the Krallabites 17 is limited in the longitudinal direction of the connecting element 11 on both sides of two Antscheinbuchtitch 21st
- the connecting element 11 at its rear end to each other opposite holding and guide vanes 23, can be added to the crimp connected or crimped via an electrical line, not shown.
- the plug pin 13 has a comparatively long plug portion 25. This has a solid square cross-section and is provided for insertion into an unillustrated associated contact socket. For this purpose, the front end of the plug-in portion 25 is formed as a pyramidal tip.
- a connecting portion 27 connects. This has an upwardly open trough shape substantially rectangular outline, so that the pin 13 is generally similar to the shape of a spoon.
- a permanent connection between the connecting element 11 and the plug pin 13 can be accomplished very easily in the following manner:
- the plug pin 13 is inserted in advance with the connecting portion 27 through the receiving sleeve 15 of the connecting element 11 at the level of Krallab Songs 17.
- the claws 19, which are already preformed approximately in the direction of the longitudinal center axis of the connecting element 11, a sufficient distance from the underside of the connecting element 11.
- the insertion of the connector pin 13 in the connecting element 11 is bounded by the Anschlaginbuchtitch 21, so that the Insertion depth is precisely defined.
- the generation of the claw can also be done in a single operation, in particular by only a detuning of the claws 19 takes place in the cavity of the connecting portion 27 of the connector pin 13. Achieving the Verkrallung between claw portion 17 and connecting portion 27 can also be crimped or crimped at the same time not shown electrical line with the holding and guiding wings 23 of the connecting element 11.
- the connecting element 11 and the plug pin 13 are preferably made of a ductile material, for example of a copper alloy.
- the terminal member 11 and the pin 13 may be provided with a coating of lower hardness with respect to the copper alloy, so that simultaneously with the generation of the claw and a cold welding is accomplished.
- Fig. 2 also shows a fixing sleeve 29.
- This has a substantially quadrangular cross-section, and it is open at its rear and opened at its front to a square opening.
- the fixing sleeve 29 has a locking tab 31st
- the fixing sleeve 29 can be used for additional stabilization of in Fig. 2 shown clawing and to compensate for undesirable temperature effects on the plug portion 25 of the connector pin 13 on the claw portion 17 of the connecting element 11 are placed.
- Fig. 3 shows the thus achieved state of the plug.
- the plug pin 13 protrudes through the square opening at the front of the fixing sleeve 29 therethrough.
- the latching tab 31 can serve for fixing the plug connected to an electrical line to the associated contact socket.
