Abstract

Es wird eine Vorrichtung zur Erkennung der Anwesenheit und/oder der Größe eines Kochgefäßes (6) auf einer elektrisch beheizbaren Kochplatte mit einem unter der Kochplatte befindlichen, an eine elektrische Heizspannungsversorgung angeschlossenen Widerstandsheizelement (1) vorgeschlagen, bei welcher das Widerstandsheizelement (1) als kapazitiver Sensor zur Topferkennung verwendet ist. Die Kapazität des Widerstandsheizelementes (1) gegen ein Referenzpotential, vorzugsweise gegen Erde, ist in einen elektrischen Schwingkreis geschaltet, dessen Resonanzfrequenz von einer Auswerteeinheit erfaßbar ist, wodurch die Anwesenheit und/oder die Größe eines Kochgefäßes (6) auf der Kochplatte ermittelbar ist. Das Widerstandsheizelement (1) ist über elektrische Schaltmittel, vorzugsweise Drosseln (DR1, DR2) an die Heizspannungsversorgung angeschlossen und über ein weiteres elektrisches Schaltmittel, vorzugsweise einen Trennkondensator (CN), in den Schwingkreis geschaltet.
