Definitions
- the invention relates to a self-assembly kit for a wristwatch with a multi-part housing and a clockwork, individual parts combined into functional groups forming preassembled structural units.
- Clocks in particular with a mechanical clockwork, have a large number of precision parts that can only be assembled by experts.
- the watertightness of the case of a wristwatch is subject to comparatively high requirements, which also contradict the assembly of a watch by a non-specialist, especially since laypersons hardly have the tools required for the proper assembly of a watch.
- the assembly of a watch by people without special expertise can be interesting for various reasons, not least because when assembling a watch, the watch can be individually designed by selecting one of the different parts that determine the external appearance of the watch.
- switching units which form separate structural units for carrying out or displaying the individual functions, and to mechanically connect these individual switching units to one another in such a way that they are each required when required can be operated and read independently.
- these switching mechanisms for example a clock and a computing unit, represent preassembled units that can only be used with the aid of Coupling elements arranged on the structural units must be connected to one another, so that the difficulties that arose when assembling a conventional wristwatch, in particular with regard to water resistance, arise during the manufacture of the preassembled structural units, but not when assembling the kit from the individual switching mechanisms.
- kits for wall clocks are known (CA 2 174 143 A), but they do not have any requirements with regard to water resistance. Such wall clocks cannot therefore be compared to wristwatches.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of designing a wristwatch of the type described at the outset in such a way that it can be assembled in a functionally reliable manner without special specialist knowledge.
- the invention solves this problem in that the clockwork, a lower housing part with a ring seal for the upper housing part and an upper housing part with a pressed-in cover glass and a pressed-in receptacle for an elevator shaft or an actuating button each result in a preassembled unit.
- the housing of a wristwatch consists of an upper part of the housing and a lower part of the housing
- the upper part of the housing is to be provided with a cover glass and forms a feedthrough for the winding shaft or an actuation button for the clockwork, in the area of the cover glass fastening and the feedthrough of the winding shaft or the actuating button comparatively high sealing requirements.
- the Upper part of the housing with the pressed-in cover glass and a pressed-in receptacle for an elevator shaft or an actuating head combined to form a preassembled unit.
- the assembly can be based on a description and with the help of if necessary, tools added to the self-assembly kit can also be carried out independently by laypersons.
- the preassembled movement In order to be able to assemble a wristwatch with the help of a self-assembly kit, the preassembled movement must first be provided with a dial and then with the clock hands before the movement with its resilient holder is inserted into the upper part of the case so that, for example, the winding shaft with the preassembled winding crown passes through the receptacle of the upper part of the housing can be inserted into the plug coupling of the clockwork. Then the lower part of the housing with the pre-assembled ring seal can be placed on the upper part of the housing and screwed to it, so that only a bracelet is to be attached to the watch case with the help of conventional spring bars to complete the watch. If the lower housing part is formed in two parts, as is the case, for example, with a glass housing base, then the preassembled structural unit of the lower housing part should include the pressed-in glass base.
- FIG. 1 shows a wristwatch according to the invention in a schematic axial section
- FIG. 2 to 7 the essential components of the self-assembly kit for the wristwatch according to FIG. 1 in the representation shown in Fig. 1 on a smaller scale.
- housing 1 has a housing 1 consisting of a lower housing part 2 and an upper housing part 3, which housing parts 2 and 3 are screwed together with an intermediate ring seal 4 by means of housing screws 5 distributed over the circumference.
- the housing 1 accommodates a clockwork 6 in a resilient holder 7, the winding shaft 8 with the winding crown 9 passing through the housing 1 in a bushing 10.
- the dial 11 is penetrated by the coaxial, interlocking shafts 12 for the clock hands 13, which are attached to the shafts 12.
- FIGS. 2 to 7 show the preassembled structural units of the lower and upper housing parts 2 and 3.
- the preassembled structural unit of the lower housing part 2 comprises a pressed-in glass base 14 and the ring seal 4 for the upper housing part 3.
- the structural unit of the upper housing part 3 has one Pressed cover glass 15 and a receptacle 16 for the elevator shaft 8 pressed into the bushing 10.
- the dial 11 (FIG. 5) is first plugged onto the preassembled unit of the clockwork 6 according to FIG. 4, the feet 17 of the dial 11 engaging in corresponding recesses in the preassembled unit for the clockwork 6.
- the clock hands 13, which are also included in the self-assembly kit as separate structural units, will be then plugged onto the shaft 12 of the clockwork 6 protruding through the dial 11.
- the holder 7 for the clockwork 6 is shown in more detail.
- This holder consists of a slotted spring ring 18, in which the clockwork 6 is inserted.
- a stop bar 19 of the preassembled clockwork 6 defines the engagement depth of the structural unit of the clockwork 6 in the spring ring 18.
- the clockwork 6 inserted into the spring ring 18 and provided with the dial 11 and the clock hands 13 can now be inserted into the upper housing part 3 in such a way that the winding shaft 8 can be inserted through the receiving bushing 16 of the upper housing part 3 into the plug coupling of the clockwork 6, which must be aligned accordingly for this purpose relative to the receptacle 16.
- the clockwork 6 is held in a rotationally fixed manner with respect to the upper housing part 3 via the elevator shaft 8.
- the receiving bushing 16 engages in the winding crown 9 of the winding shaft 8, so that the winding shaft 8 is rotatably supported on the receiving bushing 16 via the winding crown 9.
- the required watertightness of the passage of the elevator shaft 8 through the upper housing part 3 is also ensured by the engagement of the receiving bushing 16 in the winding crown 9.
- the wristwatch can be assembled from the components of a self-assembly kit without special expertise, and only using a screwdriver for the case screws 5 or a pointer setting tool, e.g. B. tweezers, because the units, which can only be put together by experts using a suitable tool, are available as functional groups pre-assembled from individual parts.
- the external appearance of the wristwatch can be offered in different embodiments with different design units, so that the external appearance of the wristwatch can be changed by appropriate selection of these assemblies. In this context, it is particularly possible to choose from different dials. However, it would also be possible to design the housing parts 2 and 3 differently in order to allow a greater variety of the external appearance of the wristwatch.
