Definitions

  • the present invention relates to mail processing machines. More specifically, it relates to a link module intended to be interposed between a printer and an enveloping machine.
  • the object of the invention is to propose a new solution that makes it possible to carry out the various work of enveloping mentioned above, namely the treatment of envelopes with or without windows (or more generally envelopes that can not or which can receive printing or transit through the printer without damage), and the possibility of enveloping printed envelopes oriented at the output of the printer in the longitudinal or transverse direction, while remaining within the framework of an office automation park traditional existing, that is to say comprising a printer and a conventional packaging machine.
  • the present invention achieves its goal through a stand-alone link module that avoids changing the printer or the envelope to perform this connection, said link module can adapt to different types of printers on the market while allowing the printer and the folding machine to operate alone. More specifically, the invention relates to a link module intended to be interposed between a printer comprising an output of printed documents, of the paper sheet and envelope type, and an enveloping machine comprising at least one sheet input and one input of envelopes, characterized in that it comprises, in a structure of the autonomous link module, a first document receiving zone, which can be aligned with the printed document output of the printer, a second reception zone of documents, capable of being fed into envelopes, a sheet exit area, which can be aligned with the sheet entry of the enveloping machine, and an envelope exit area which can be aligned on the enveloping entry of the enveloping machine, first conveying means connecting the first receiving area to the sheet exit area, second directing means connecting t the first reception zone at the envelope exit zone, and third
  • the second routing means comprise an envelope recovery device in order to reorient the envelopes that do not appear in the desired direction.

  • the jogging device may comprise a system of rollers on which the envelope is received and which transport it to a reference stop.
  • the second and third routing means comprise a section controlled by a common motor.
  • the module is part of an installation comprising support means for the printer and the enveloping machine, in which installation said support means are slidably mounted, so as to be able to separate and remove from the module the printer and the wrapping machine, allow their independent operation or facilitate a maintenance or repair intervention on one or other of the components.
  • the module comprises an integrated envelope magazine, preferably with a movable platen.
  • the documents are envelopes printed by the printer, they are directed to the envelope feeder of the enveloping machine.
  • the switch in the high position, directs the envelope to the bottom of the module.
  • the envelope then falls along two guide plates, forming the fall well. If the orientation of the envelope at the output of the printer is not compatible with that required for the enveloping machine, the envelope is turned over in this free fall zone by means of a counter around which the envelope pivots when falling. If the orientation is correct at the printer output, it is obvious that the pawn must not be in the path of the envelope.
  • Said pin is therefore advantageously mounted eclipsable for example, it can be constituted by the diver a electro magnet.
  • the reference or jogging mechanism makes it possible to perfectly center the envelope with respect to the wrapping machine in order to guarantee the quality of the insertion that will take place later. It consists of a set of rollers mounted transversely in the module and on which falls the envelope.
  • Said rollers rotate continuously and transport the envelope laterally to bring the latter into contact with the reference plate.
  • Said sheet is adjustable according to the widths of envelopes.
  • the envelopes are then taken back by the envelope feeder to the envelope feeder of the enveloping machine.
  • Window envelopes which can not be processed by the printer, are stacked in a motorized envelope magazine. They are depilated and transported by the envelope supply device to the envelope feeder of the enveloping machine.
  • This device consists of two toothed belts equipped with cleats and a set of rollers - conveyor belts.
