Abstract
The invention relates to a, in a very surprisingly way improved folding file (1) for filing documents and which can also be turned up into a desk, in which the folding file (1) consists of a threesome by means of folds (10, 11, 12, 13, 14) connected flexural stiff with plastic provided sheet parts (2, 5, 6) with between the first sheet part (2) and the second sheet part (5) a back part (3) with in addition a multiple articulated flexible in opposite direction foldable or butt hinged intermediate part (4), which for the folding file (1) in raised condition forms the supporting edge (14) for books and sheets. The third sheet part (6) is fixed in raised position by a slot (15) in the first sheet part (2), by which further the folding file is provided with insert files (8, 9). <IMAGE>
Description
The present invention relates to a device for a folding
file constructed of a threesome connected to each other
rectangular sheet parts by means of flexible folds, folding
patterns or butt hinges, being a first horizontal sheet
part (bottom plate) and second and third raisable sheet
parts, in which the mentioned folding file serves as a file
for documents and which in unfolded condition can be turned
up as a book or sheet desk, in which the mentioned folds or
folding patterns between the first and second sheet part is
constructed as back part, in which the mentioned back part
in unfolded raised condition of the folding file serves as
a desk or bottom support for the mentioned book or sheet.
Somewhat similar folding files are known in the PCT
application no. PCT/EP98/07719, submitted international
November 30th, 1998, by applicant and inventor PECCI,
Fabrizio (IT), via Mentalbano 11, 1-47048S. Giovanno in
Marignano. Here, it concerns a folding file which can be
turned into an adjustable book stand, which is
characterized by a hingeable connected to each other
compilation of sheet parts, that in this way forms a prism-like
box with over that a covering sheet part and a
supporting sheet part, in which that supporting sheet part
is applied between the mentioned covering sheet part and
the bottom sheet part of the mentioned box, in which the
bottom sheet part on two sides is provided with several
ledges or slots in order to adjust the required gradient of
the mentioned bookstand, in which a firm edge is applied on
the outer side of the mentioned covering sheet part to hold
the book on the bottom side as an adjustable bookstand.
The known device or folding file has a number of
disadvantages being the box-like construction of the bottom
sheet part through which the file becomes rather thick,
which effect is increased by the firm edge on the outer
side of the covering sheet part and furthermore the
supporting sheet part is butt hinged connected about half
way to the covering sheet part and with the other end it
can be placed in a number of ledges or slots at the edges
of the box-shaped bottom part, as a result of which the
quantity of applicable documents in the folding file as a
box is strongly reduced and only possible in the bottom
part. Furthermore the construction is rather complicated,
therefore expensive to produce and with that clumsy in use,
while usually one does not or hardly needs the several
adjustment possibilities.
The aim of the present invention is to provide such a
folding file for filing documents, which can also be
adjusted into a desk, of which the aforementioned
disadvantages are solved and of which the utility is better
and by which a competitive cost price is feasible.
For this the folding file according to the invention is
further developed and characterized in a very inventive
way, such that the mentioned back part between the first
and second sheet part is equipped with a multiple
articulated flexible, in opposite direction foldable or
hingeable intermediate part, in which the mentioned first
horizontal sheet part on the other end is suitably provided
with a slot or recess for the second and third raisable
sheet parts for fixing the third sheet part in raised
condition, in which the mentioned second raisable sheet
part makes an angle α with the first (horizontal) sheet
part, in which the angle α lays between 40 and 80 degrees,
preferably approximately 50 degrees, in which the documents
to be filed can be put in insert files, which with their
back or bottom can be suitably connected to the first or
second sheet part.
The great advantage of this is that a very suitable and
usable folding file is created.
Furthermore the folding file according to the invention
is developed in such a way that the mentioned sheet parts
and back parts are constructed flexural stiff, in which the
mentioned sheet parts and back parts are placed in a
plastic cover, in which the mentioned plastic cover also
form the mentioned flexible folds, folding patterns or butt
hinges, in which the mentioned sheet parts are made of
flexural stiff cardboard and that the plastic cover is made
of plastic such as polypropylene, in which the second sheet
part and the mentioned back part can be provided with a
transparent sheet fixed onto it with one open side for
sliding illustrations, specifications, text, etc. behind
it.
The advantages of these are that a beautiful, stiff and
cleanable folding file is created, in which also different
sheets with text and figures can be applied.
Next the folding file according to the invention is
further developed in such a way that the mentioned multiple
articulated flexible, in opposite direction foldable or
hingeable intermediate part has a width between 5 and 35mm,
preferably approximately 20mm, in which the mentioned slot
or recess has a width equal to the thickness of the
mentioned sheet parts increased with approximately 2mm, in
which the depth of the mentioned slot is approximately 1 to
3 mm.
The advantages of these are that a solid desk is
created out of the folding file, which supports the books
on the bottom well, and stays solidly upright by means of
the slot.
Then the folding file according to the invention is
further developed in such a way that the mentioned
transparent insert files can be fixed to the first sheet
part by means of adhering, and is placed with the back or
closed seam to the mentioned slot and is also fixed by
means of adhering to the second sheet part and is placed
with the back or closed seam to the mentioned back part,
and that the two remaining closed side seams are
constructed accordeon shaped.
The advantage is that one can see what is roughly
inside the insert files and that the capacity for documents
in the insert files is rather large.
The invention will now be further described in a
preferred embodiment with reference to the annexed
drawings, in which:

Figure 1 shows a view in oblique projection of the
folding file 1 according to the invention in folded closed
position. The folding file 1 consists of a first horizontal
sheet part 2, also called the bottom sheet, a back part 3
with a multiple articulated flexible, in opposite direction
foldable or butt hinged intermediate part 4, a second sheet
part 5 and a third sheet part 6. The mutual geared lengths
of the different sheet parts 2, 5 and 6 are visible in
figure 1, so that a suitable folding file is created, which
also counts for the back part 3 and the flexible
intermediate part 4.
Figure 2 shows in a larger scale the angle of the
folding file according to the view line II in figure 1. On
the back part 3 is shown the construction of a transparent
plastic sheet 7 for sliding text and/or images behind it.
Figure 3 shows a view in oblique projection of the
folding file 1 according to the invention in the position
turned up into a desk. The folding file 1 is in this
position supplied with insert files 8 and 9. The folds,
folding patterns or butt hinges 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 can
now be seen clearly. The multiple articulated flexible in
opposite direction foldable or hingeable intermediate part
4 in this position serves as a cornigated supporting edge
14 for books, sheets (not shown) and such. The figure shows
that the supporting edge 14 forms itself automatically and
easily. In this case the angle α is preferably 50 degrees.
The third raisable sheet part 6 is supported and fixed in
the slot 15 of the first horizontal sheet part 2.
Figure 4 shows a top view of the unfolded folding file
1 with the applied transparent insert files 8 and 9.
Finally, it will be appreciated, that the preferred
embodiment of the invention has been described and that
further modifications are possible without leaving the
scope of this patent document.
Claims (6)
- Folding file (1) constructed of a threesome connected to each other rectangular sheet parts by means of flexible folds, folding patterns or butt hinges, being a first horizontal sheet part (bottom plate) and a second and third raisable sheet parts, in which the mentioned folding file serves as a file for documents and in unfolded condition can be turned up as a book or sheet desk, in which the mentioned folds or folding patterns (10, 11, 12, 13, 14) between the first and second sheet part (2, 5) is constructed as back part (3), in which the mentioned back part (3) in unfolded raised condition of the folding file (1) serves as a desk or bottom support for the mentioned book or sheet, characterized in that, the mentioned back part (3) between the first and second sheet part (2, 5) is equipped with a multiple articulated flexible, in opposite direction foldable or hingeable intermediate part (4), in which the mentioned first horizontal sheet part (2) on the other end is suitably provided with a slot or recess (15) for the second and third raisable sheet parts (5, 6) for fixing the third sheet part (6) in raised condition, in which the mentioned second raisable sheet part (5) makes an angle α with the first (horizontal) sheet part (2), in which the angle α lays between 40 and 80 degrees, preferably approximately 50 degrees, in which the documents to be filed can be put in insert files (8, 9), which with their back or bottom can be suitably connected to the first or second sheet part (2, 5).
- Folding file as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that, the mentioned sheet parts (2, 5, 6) and back parts (3) are constructed flexural stiff, in which the mentioned sheet parts and back parts are placed in a plastic cover, in which the mentioned plastic cover also form the mentioned flexible folds, folding patterns or butt hinges.
- Folding file as claimed in claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, the mentioned multiple articulated flexible, in opposite direction foldable or hingeable intermediate part (4) has a width between 5 and 35mm, preferably approximately 20mm.
- Folding file as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that, the mentioned slot or recess (15) has a width equal to the thickness of the mentioned sheet parts (2, 5, 6) increased with approximately 2mm, in which the depth of the mentioned slot (15) is approximately 1 to 3 mm.
- Folding file as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that, the mentioned transparent insert files (8, 9) can be fixed to the first sheet part (2) by means of adhering, and is placed with the back or closed seam to the mentioned slot (15) and is also fixed by means of adhering to the second sheet part and is placed with the back or closed seam to the mentioned back part (3), and that the two remaining closed side seams are constructed accordeon-shaped.
- Folding file as claimed in the aforementioned claims, characterized in that, the mentioned sheet parts (2, 5, 6) are made of flexural stiff cardboard and that the plastic cover is made of plastic such as polypropylene, by which the second sheet part and the mentioned back part (3) can be provided with a transparent sheet (7) fixed onto it with one open side for sliding illustrations, specifications, text, etc. behind it.
