Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Zerteilen eines auf einem Längsförderer in einer Längsrichtung verfahrbaren Baumstamms in Bretter. Zu Festlegung der Brettlänge wird häufig der Baumstamm vor dem Zerteilen in Bretter mit einer Kappsäge an seinem Umfang eingeschnitten. Da die Kappsäge ortsfest ist, erfolgt die Festlegung der Schnittiefe durch seitliches Zustellen des Baumstamms. Bei größeren Schnittiefen muß der Baumstamm nach den Kappschnitten wieder in Querrichtung zurückverfahren werden, damit anschließend mit einer Bandsäge ein Brett in der gewünschten Dicke abgetrennt werden kann. Bei diesem Zurückverfahren kann der Baumstamm auf dem Längsförderer verrutschen, wodurch die Maßhaltigkeit verlorengeht.
Die Erfindung löst dieses Problem dadurch, daß das Bandsägeblatt (46) vor dem Bearbeiten des Baumstamms (16) wenigstens soweit weg vom Baumstamm in Querrichtung (22) verfahren wird, daß der Baumstamm auf dem Längsförderer (14) an dem Bandsägeblatt (46) vorbei bewegt werden kann, ohne dabei das Bandsägeblatt zu berühren (Fig. 1).
