Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire du noir de carbone, selon lequel on brûle ou on gazéifie un combustible solide et on utilise la chaleur, les gaz chauds ou les gaz de combustion chauds produits par la combustion ou la gazéification pour pyroliser une matière première de noir de carbone dans un réacteur de formation de noir de carbone. L'utilisation d'un combustible solide permet de réduire la production d'hydrogène par comparaison avec l'utilisation de combustibles traditionnels à flux de gaz de combustion chauds, et par conséquent, d'augmenter considérablement la production de noir de carbone. De préférence, on utilise un combustible gazeux formé à partir de la gazéification d'un combustible solide tel que le charbon, le coke, le coke de pétrole, le charbon de bois, des combinaisons des éléments précités, ou d'autres sources de combustibles solides, pour former un flux de gaz de combustion chauds. On injecte une matière première de noir de carbone dans le flux de gaz chauds ou de chaleur produit par la combustion ou la gazéification afin de produire un flux de gaz chauds contenant du noir de carbone, flux qui est ensuite refroidi brusquement.
