Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cornice element whose face apparent is stone.
- a ledge generally made up of elements arranged next to each other others, is intended to be interposed between the walls and the frame of a construction. As illustrated in FIG. 1, each element 10 of cornice is arranged on the upper part of the wall 12, a joint 14 ensuring the connection between the element and the wall. A coating 16 is generally provided to cover wall 12 up to the cornice.
- cut stone cornices which offer superior aesthetics.
- the use of cornices size stone is imposed during restoration, especially of buildings historic.
- the cornice Apart from its aesthetic character, the cornice must provide a connection solid between the walls and the frame.
- cut stone cornice elements are relatively heavy, therefore difficult to install, and their price is relatively high.
- the present invention aims to overcome the drawbacks of the art by proposing a cornice element with an apparent surface in a newly designed cut stone, ensuring a solid bond between walls and frame.
- the subject of the invention is a cornice element capable of to be interposed between a wall and a frame, characterized in that it includes two parts, a first part, called body, ensuring the connection between the wall and the frame, and a second part, called molding, in freestone, reported on the first and likely to be visible.
- the body is made of molded cement, of preferably armed, so as to avoid the appearance of micro-cracks.
- the cornice element comprises in the lower part an obviously lower part, forming a groove, capable of being placed at the level of the wall covering and filled by said coating.
- the obviously lower part is arranged at the level of the junction of the body and the molding.
- the molding comprises a first chamfer likely to form the obviously lower, a second chamfer in the upper part, these two chamfers being arranged substantially at 90 ° relative to the rear face of said molding.
- the cornice element includes at its upper face an obviously upper likely to form a chain formwork.
- obviously greater than a shape such as the center of gravity of the cornice element is positioned directly above the lower surface in contact with the wall.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 a cornice element has been shown at 20 attached to the upper part of a wall 22 coated with plaster, coated or analog 24, a seal 26 being interposed between the upper part of the wall 22 and element 20. These elements are arranged next to each other to form the ledge on which a frame is likely to be added not shown.
- the cornice element 20 comprises two parts, one first part 28, called the body, providing the connection between the wall and the frame, and a second part 30, called molding, in freestone reported on the first and likely to be apparent.
- the body 28 is produced in a suitable material with a suitable coefficient of expansion, close the coefficient of expansion of the material used to make the wall, so to avoid the appearance of micro-cracks.
- the body 28 is made of molded cement, preferably reinforced.
- the cornice element 20 comprises in the lower part an obviously 32 said lower, forming a groove, capable of being placed at the level of the covering 24 and filled by said coating. This arrangement makes it possible to obtain the formation of a barrier which limits the risks of infiltration up to seal 26 and its deterioration.
- this obviously lower 32 is disposed at the level of the junction of the body 28 and the molding 30.
- the coating 24 comes directly in contact with the body 28, thus avoiding all risks infiltration and micro-cracks.
- the body 28 has a section in the form of rectangular trapezoid, with a small base facing the wall, the molding 30 being connected by any suitable means 34, gluing and stapling (s), in accordance with building standards.
- the cornice element 20 includes at its upper face an obviously 36, called upper, forming a chain formwork to ensure a more solid anchoring between the frame and cornice and therefore the wall.
- the walls or part of the walls of the obviously upper 36 have a high roughness so as to increase the grip.
- the obviously upper 36 has a shape such that the center of gravity of the cornice element is arranged directly above the lower surface in contact with the wall in order to give said element 20 better stability.
- the body 28 comprises a relatively thin wall 38 in contact with the molding, said body having a thickness which is substantially notes facilitating its molding.
- a dovetail insert 40 having a withdrawal is provided at the thin wall 38, supporting a rod 42, preferably in stainless steel, ensuring the stapling of the molding 30.
- An inclination adapted from the rod 42 improves the solidity of this connection.
- the molding has a profile particular property illustrated in Figure 4.
- first face 44 capable of cooperating with the body, preferably flat, a second face 46, visible, having a profile particular depending on the desired aesthetic and at least one chamfer 48 connecting the two faces 44 and 46 and forming the obviously lower 32.
- the molding 30 comprises a second chamfer 50 connecting the two faces 44 and 46 giving the cornice element a better aesthetic, allowing the accommodation of part of the flange of a zinc 52 placed on the ledge. Furthermore, this arrangement prevents other elements, in particular gutters and the frame, come to bear on the molding and exert a force capable of detaching it from the body 28.
- chamfers 48 and 50 have the other advantages of eliminating the fragile and frosty bevel shapes. Preferably, they form with the face rear 44 sides substantially at 90 ° allowing automatic molding to reduce manufacturing costs.
- the invention is obviously not limited to the mode of realization represented and described above, but on the contrary covers all variants, especially with regard to the shape and material of the body 28 as well as the apparent profile of the molding 30.
