There is a significant advantage in that the selector is not left in an improper position and can further discover the system when the driver authorization is removed, e.g. when a driver leaves the vehicle and activates the door locking system 29.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un système (1) pour autoriser la conduite d'un véhicule, comportant un dispositif de commutation (2) qui sert à activer une pluralité de fonctions du véhicule, notamment le démarrage du moteur. Ce système est caractérisé par un sélecteur rotatif qui peut être déplacé entre une position initiale (8) et une pluralité d'autres positions quelconques, comprenant une première et une deuxième position (9, 10) reliées à des fonctions séparées du véhicule. Il est en outre caractérisé par des moyens de sollicitation (31) qui servent à replacer le sélecteur dans sa position initiale à partir d'une position quelconque, lorsque ledit sélecteur est libéré par une commande du dispositif de commutation. Ce dernier est destiné de préférence à être utilisé avec une clé de transpondeur, et la position initiale correspond de préférence à une position neutre du sélecteur, isolée électriquement, de sorte que ce dernier soit replacé automatiquement dans sa position initiale afin d'éviter que le véhicule soit laissé dans un état inapproprié, lorsque le conducteur quitte le véhicule avec le transpondeur.
