Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an electrical apparatus of the circuit-breaker, block or differential switch type, comprising an insulating housing intended to be mounted on a support rail attached to housings of electrical appliances of the same type to constitute an electrical distribution circuit, for example disposed in a distribution board.
  • connection to the circuit by means of external conductors, is in perpendicular faces on the one hand to their plane of attachment, and on the other hand to the mounting rails. Orifices leading to said connection means are formed in these faces, which are therefore accessible to a user in a vertical direction of action, and in a reduced volume separating the connecting faces of two adjacent rows.
  • connection means When the connection means are made by a device with cage and screw, the screw heads are accessible from the front of the product, located directly in front of the user so that the tightening / loosening can be performed with good visibility.
  • the insertion of cables, bridging bars, etc. in cages is however more difficult, especially if the distribution board is well filled, and the cables / distribution bars are numerous.
  • the conventional cage and screw means are more and more often replaced by quick-coupling devices, based on a prestressed spring blade bearing on the electrical terminal input or output of the device. , and which allows insertion by plugging a driver.
  • the connection operation is almost immediate, compared with the connection in a traditional cage, for which it is necessary to maintain the conductor at least during a portion of the tightening screw.
  • the orifice leading to the quick coupling means is generally smaller than that on which the cages open, and the introduction of the end of a driver can therefore sometimes be difficult.
  • the existence of several levels of bridging, on the same face, allowing the simultaneous connection of a bridging bar and an individual driver does not arrange things in this respect.
  • the bridging bar or bars are in fact often located closer to the facade than the insertion opening of the individual conductor, and they sometimes mask the connection opening of said individual conductor.
  • connection means be removable, that is to say detachable from the housing, so that the connection can be made independently of the location of said housing.
  • EP-1,124,286 discloses a quick connect terminal block by direct plugging conductor (s) equipping modular electrical appliances and having means for broaching or declutching without tools and at any time said terminal block.
  • This removable terminal block is further equipped with guide means developing outside the housing, and which allow - particularly in the case of stitched use - guiding the end of the cables to insert them into the orifices leading to the means of fast connection.
  • the idea underlying the present invention is also to facilitate the connection of the conductors, but without the housing having a removable part, as is the case in the EP-1 124 286 .
  • a new box has been created, according to the invention, which improves the visibility in order to facilitate access to the connection means, and which also allows a modification of the insertion direction of the cables in said means. to increase the degree of ergonomics of the connection operation.
  • the invention which concerns an electrical appliance of the type circuit breaker, block or differential switch, conventionally comprising an insulating housing whose front is equipped with a control lever, a sole opposite to said facade being provided to be mounted on a standard support rail, said housing can also be joined along its large side faces to housings of electrical appliances of the same type and being provided, for its connection to an electricity distribution circuit, connecting means d the inlet and outlet respectively accessible via at least one orifice made in a connecting face connected on the one hand to the sole and on the other hand to the joining faces, is essential for the fact that at least the face connection in which the input connection means open is constituted by an additional piece secured to the housing, comprising at least one insertion port of one or more conductors formed in at least one surface inclined relative to the connecting face so that each orifice is visible and accessible in the extension of the front of the electrical device.
  • the housings of the invention therefore comprise two major modifications: a change in the insertion axis of the conductors, and an inclination of the connection faces so that they become visible to a user placed facing the switchboard, that is to say face facades equipped with control levers.
  • each orifice is extended by a guide barrel whose axis is substantially perpendicular to the inclined surface in which is formed said orifice.
  • connection means can benefit from the invention, it is particularly applicable to so-called fast connection means, that is to say based on leaf springs.
  • the input port of the cables to be connected is rather small, and should preferably include such a guide barrel, so that the end of the cable can be inserted into good conditions between the terminal and the spring blade.
  • the guide bush is however also applicable in configurations in which the connection means are cage and screw.
  • connection possibilities For each phase or the neutral, there can be several connection possibilities.
  • the number of orifices corresponds to the number of units of connection means.
  • the housings generally comprise different levels of bridging, and therefore different positions of the connection means.
  • the additional piece may comprise several inclined surfaces, but offset with respect to each other to differentiate the introduction zone for example phase conductors from that of the neutral conductors.
  • connection seen by the user, is exactly the same, only changes the plane of introduction of the cable into the connection port, which undergoes a shift.
  • the connecting means are spring blade, they allow direct plugging conductors, preferably rigid, which are inserted between the terminal and the prestressed blade.
  • This mode of connection requires the use of a means of reducing the stress of the spring to be able to release the cables. This can be done by incorporating a button to the housing, which comes to exert additional stress on the spring for said release. Alternatively, this release can also be performed by a screwdriver-type tool, that is to say provided with a rod for exerting such an additional action on the leaf spring.
  • each insertion orifice is surmounted by a passage conduit of a tool adapted to move the spring blade to release the plugged conductor.
  • each leaf spring is preferably disposed between ribs extending inwardly the guide bush and extending substantially parallel to the large side faces of the housing.
  • ribs are intended in particular to separate and isolate the different leaf springs located at the same level of bridging for the same inclined surface. In the absence of additional room, it would be necessary to proceed with the assembly of elements separators via the connection ports, which is industrially much less favorable.
  • the additional piece can be clipped onto the housing of the electrical appliance.
  • said piece comprises, at least at its upper and lower ends, tabs with a uniform end resiliently snap into housings or openings provided for this purpose in the housing.
  • This clipable part can actually be seen as a cover that closes the housing, especially on its input connection face. It may also include a portion parallel to the facade, constituting a portion of the latter, the free end has flexible tabs provided to clip into the housing.
  • the cover made of this part therefore covers at least a portion of two related surfaces, the connecting face and part of the facade.
  • said additional piece can be fixed to the housing for example by gluing and / or welding.
  • the portion of the additional piece constituting part of the facade comprises at least one control orifice for the presence of tension. It can also be provided with a groove for calibrating the stripping length of the conductor to be connected.
  • Any housing having on at least one of its connecting faces an inclined face allows the electrician or the user to make electrical connections with optimum comfort, which notably provides a faster installation time conferring to the produces an undeniable economic advantage.
  • the part of the visible housing shows the front (F) of the circuit breaker, the face (C) into which the connection means open, and the sole (S) for fixing the housing to the rails.
  • the facade (F) itself has two levels, a control handle (not shown) exceeding the highest level.
  • a piece (P) equips the face (C) and, in this case, the lowest level of the facade (F).
  • This piece has an orifice (1) giving access to a spring blade (2) via a guide barrel (3). It is surmounted by a second orifice (4) giving access to a conduit (5) also opening on the spring blade (2).
  • the function of the two orifices (1, 4) and conduits (3, 5) corresponding is obviously not identical.
  • the orifice (1) / guide barrel (3) allows access to the free end (6) of the spring blade (2). This free end is prestressed in abutment against an electrical terminal (7) of the electrical apparatus.
  • the guide barrel (3) serves to guide and guide the free end of a conductor so that it can be inserted between the terminal (7) and the end (6) of the spring blade. (2), to make an electrical connection with the connection means thus formed.
  • the pair orifice (4) / conduit (5) allows the insertion of an elongated tool type screwdriver, to release the stress exerted by the leaf spring (2) on the driver, which is obtained by exerting a constraint additional on said spring blade (2).
  • the terminal (7) is connected, via a conductive braid (8), to a bimetallic strip (9) allowing, via a lock, to move the movable contact away from the fixed contact in the event of overcurrent, according to a well-known implementation. itself, and which will not be further explained in the context of this description.
  • the orifices (1 and 4) are formed in an inclined surface (I) of the part (P), which has an inclination of the order of 45 ° for example with respect to the facade (F), such that these orifices (1, 4) are visible by a user looking in the direction of the arrow (A).
  • This surface (I) because of its inclination, is visible in the direct extension of said facade (F), and the connection / disconnection of a driver in / of the electrical device is immediate and easy for the user .
  • the piece (P) extends to the front of the product and is fixed at the shoulder marking the elevation of the facade (F), with hooks unciform (19) equipping its free end, which are clipped into holes located at the base of said shoulder.
  • hooks make it possible to fasten by clipping in the lower part of the apparatus, that is to say in the vicinity of the sole (S).
  • the same piece (P), cut off from the neutral side, has a second inclined surface (I ') offset from the first surface (I) and the front (F) so that an ocular differentiation can be performed between the phase side and the neutral side.
  • This inclined surface (I ') develops in extension of the lower part of a vertical surface (18).
  • each spring blade (12) whose end (16) is constrained in abutment against the terminal (17), open two orifices (10 and 14) respectively extended by a guide gun (13) and a conduit (15) so as to allow the connection / disconnection of the stripped end of a rigid conductor.
  • a bracket (19 ') of the part (P) appears in the lower part thereof, said tab (19') coming clipping into a housing (20) fitted to the housing.
  • the upper clipping lugs (19) also appear in figure 3 , in the extension of the part of the room (P) which constitutes a portion of facade (F). This portion also has orifices (21, 21 ') for controlling the presence of voltage in the device.
  • This figure 3 clearly shows the offset between the inclined surfaces (I and I ') in which it is possible to insert several orifices (1, 1', 10, 10 ') for insertion of the cables, each corresponding to a spring blade (2, 12) disposed within the housing of the apparatus. Each of these orifices corresponds, of course, to the disconnection orifices (4, 4 ', 14, 14').
  • the part (P) forms a constituent hood, as clearly appears in figure 5 , the face (C) of the housing, as well as part of the facade (F), part that ends at the base of the shoulder containing the control handle.
  • a stripping wedge (23) giving the measurement of the stripping length suitable for a good connection.
