Definitions
- the invention relates to a welding head for a strapping machine, comprising Band fixing agent for fixing the parts to be welded together overlapping band ends, a welding device for melting the to welding band sections, as well as a pressing device for pressing the melted band sections against a pressure piece.
- a strapping machine is used for strapping a packaged product, for example a stack of catalogs or magazines, with strapping, usually a stable plastic band.
- a welding head is provided to fix the condition, which enables the two mutually overlapping ends of the tape via a suitable insertion device first in a frame surrounding the packaged goods, which then opens and the strap is tightly tightened to connect supplied strapping.
- a welding head of the type mentioned at the outset is, for example, from DE 199 48 880 A 1 known. It has two clamping jaws and one arranged between them Pressing device on. The two clamping jaws like the pressing device are longitudinally movable, which is why separate guideways on the welding head housing are provided which correspond in cross section to that of the jaws. Guideways and clamping jaws have to be very precise for precise longitudinal guidance be worked exactly. To ensure a smooth and smooth running of the To ensure clamping jaws in the guideways are also in the Clamping jaws or the pressure device on the side of flat lubricant pockets formed. The design effort for the longitudinal guides of the longitudinally movable parts very large, which also adversely affects the total cost of the welding head. Another disadvantage is the permanent security continuous lubrication to ensure the smooth running of the longitudinally movable To ensure parts. The open guideways continue to tend Soiling, which is also disadvantageous.
- the invention is based on the problem of specifying a welding head which in is improved in terms of construction and functionality.
- the welding head mentioned above is used Type provided according to the invention that the band fixing means as two separate, pivoting jaws are formed, which with the longitudinally movable Pressure device are coupled in such a way that they are dependent the movement of the pressing device in and out of engagement with the strapping are feasible.
- the two are the fixation of the Clamping jaws serving the ends of the belt each via a simple swivel bearing rotatably mounted. Only the pressing device is mounted so that it can move longitudinally. Instead of three separate longitudinal guides so far, the invention Welding head provided only one, while the two jaws below Avoiding all the disadvantages described in one simple Pivot point are pivotally mounted. Furthermore, the clamping jaws are in accordance with the invention preferably directly coupled to the pressing device, d. that is, their movement between the respective end positions is determined solely by controlled the movement of the pressing device. This results in an overall easier, cheaper and more reliable and more precise in its function Mechanism that has all the disadvantages described in the prior art eliminated.
- the jaws arranged on both sides of the pressing device and so with the Press device are coupled so that when the pressing device moves swing in opposite directions.
- the coupling of movements can be such that it engages with the strapping at different times bring what is expedient as immediate after inserting the strapping, first fix the front, leading end of the band is required, which is accomplished via the one jaw can be.
- the guide surfaces are expediently as inclined surfaces trained, on which the respective part engages, with the formation of these guide surfaces, of course, also the "time control" of the separate ones Jaw movement can be defined.
- the jaws are advantageous against a restoring force in or out of engagement can be brought with strapping, d. that is, it automatically builds up when it moves Restoring force that is reduced as part of the counter movement.
- the jaws are expediently via a spring, in particular a coil spring is coupled to each other in motion, with the spring on it in the from the strapping position exerts a restoring force. That means, that the clamping jaws automatically move into their engagement position on the spring Strapping be pushed if the pressing device accordingly is moved while being pushed apart again in the opposite movement and the spring is tensioned.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that on the strapping encompassing clamping sections of the jaws on the middle Pressing device pointing upper jaw sections and laterally offset are formed to the pivot axis.
- This causes the jaws, which only lie on the belt over the inner upper cheek edge, for example, while pulling back the tape (related to the first one attached Clamping jaws) or with a tensioned band (then also for the second Jaws) due to either the active or (with the belt tensioned) the tension, inherent in the tension, of the tape being shortened by it Wedge the strap movement even more with the strap, hence the clamping effect is still enlarged. So there is an automatic self-clamping on.
- the strapping is shot in a first step.
- a tape storage for. B. a tape storage, as in the already mentioned patent application 102 32 580.4
- the strapping withdrawn and into a band guide frame surrounding the packaged goods injected.
- the front end of the strapping is in the welding head caught again, after which the welding process can proceed.
- a tape guide element is provided, which in the Rule is also mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in known welding heads. It is a further longitudinal guide in the prior art with the known Disadvantages described.
- a swivel stored tape guide element which is directly or indirectly is coupled to the pressing device that it depends on the Movement of the pressing device in and out of the belt conveyor path is.
- the tape guide element is thus also pivotally mounted, according to the invention the disadvantageous longitudinal guidance is also omitted here. Furthermore is its movement also depends on that of the pressing device, both are accordingly motion-coupled.
- the motion coupling can be such be that the tape guide element only after fixing the tape ends is moved out of the tape guide path by the jaws, d. that is, here too is the temporal through the movement coupling with the pressure device alone Control of the movement of the tape guide element realized.
- the tape guide element motion-coupled with the pressing device via an intermediate element is also conceivable, as well as a direct movement coupling between the two parts.
- a direct movement coupling it is expedient to use the pressure device or the tape guide element of the movement control of the band guide element serving guide surface is provided, along which the tape guide element or the pressing device - depending on the design - slides.
- the guide surface sliding roller or roller or the like is provided.
- the welding device In addition to the tape guide element is known from prior art welding heads technology, the welding device is usually also mounted so that it can move longitudinally, d. that is, this part is also disadvantageous in terms of its movement support.
- the welding device between a non-working position and one that melts the strip sections Working position to be pivoted, the welding device thus directly or indirectly motion-coupled to the pressing device is that the movement is dependent on the movement of the pressing device he follows.
- This is advantageous in the welding head according to the invention this disadvantageous longitudinal guidance in favor of a simple swivel bearing resolved, with the movement sequence due to a corresponding Coupling of movement with the pressing device controlled via this becomes.
- the welding device provides an expedient design of a motion coupling to couple indirectly with the pressing device, namely by that the welding device is releasably coupled to the tape guide element in this way is that when the tape guide element moves out of the tape guide path is moved into the working position.
- the welding device is directly coupled to the tape guide element, which in turn is expediently coupled directly to the pressing device is. Due to the detachable coupling of the welding device to the tape guide element is its movement at least partially (until the Coupling) due to the movement of the tape guide element.
- the tape guide element and the are expedient for this purpose Welding device during the joint movement around a joint Pivots pivotable in the same direction. So it just becomes one Axis of rotation provided, the design being such that the tape guide element is brought out of the belt guide path and at the same time the welding device is moved into the tape guide path.
- the movement coupling of the tape guide element is expedient and the welding device when the welding device reaches the working position automatically solved what after an advantageous design of the invention is achieved using a magnetic coupling of both parts.
- This is for example corresponding magnetic clamps on one or both parts provided that adhere to each other during the coupling, separated for release and together again in the course of a subsequent welding step get connected.
- the fused tape ends are used for connection pressed against a pressure piece. Then around the strapped packaged goods To be able to take out of the strapping device, it is necessary that the Strapping in the area of the weld is released from the pressure piece, for which this is also mounted in a longitudinally movable manner in known strapping machines and thus has all the disadvantages described. To remedy this too To create a very useful training, including the pressure piece to be pivotably supported and to be coupled in motion with the pressure device in such a way that its dependence on the movement of the pressing device between a working position in which the tape ends through the pressing device against it, and a non-working position, in which the welded Strapping is released, is movable.
- the welding head is only a single longitudinal guide, namely that of the pressing device realized while all other parts over simple swivel bearings are movably mounted.
- the movement alone the determining element is advantageously the pressing device with which all pivotable parts are directly or indirectly motion-coupled. It is with it a simply constructed and completely redesigned welding head specified, which eliminates the disadvantages of the prior art.
- the movement coupling of the pressure piece to the pressing device takes place also via a suitable guide surface, that is, both are directly coupled to each other.
- the pressing device after pressing to move the melted strip ends further in the pressing direction, during which movement that up to then on the guide surface Pressure piece is released and swings away.
- the pressure device is so in relation to the actual press position, which leads to the fact that the pressure piece is released from its counter bearing and can swing away.
- the invention also relates to a strapping machine comprising a welding head of the type described.
- FIG. 1 a and 1b show the welding head 1 according to the invention in its Starting position after the strapping 2 has been shot in and still in a not shown, which is also not shown Packaged goods surrounding frame is guided.
- the welding head 1 according to the invention has a base plate 3 on which a right jaw 4 and a left Clamping jaws 5 are each pivotably mounted about a pivot bearing 6, 7. On their lower end are both coupled to one another via a spring 8. Between the two jaws 4, 5 is the one not shown Longitudinal guide longitudinally movable pressing device 9, with both Clamping jaws 4, 5 are directly coupled to movement. For this purpose are on the pressing device - see for example FIG.
- a tape guide element 11 which has an inclined Has guide channel 12, in which the tape in Fig. 1 a coming from the right shot becomes.
- the tape guide element 11 is about the pivot axis 13 (see also e.g. Fig. 5b) pivoted.
- the tape guide element 11 also directly coupled to the pressing device 9, for which purpose on the tape guide element 11, a roller 14 is provided, the back of the Pressing device 9 attacks.
- the base plate 3 is perforated for this purpose, so that the individual parts can work together.
- the figures are the basic construction principle show and of course suitable other housing or holding parts are provided, which form the respective axes of rotation, etc.
- a welding device 15 is provided which - see for example the Figures 1 bunch 5b - between a non-working position (Fig. 1 b) in which they are a suitable counter bearing 16 is mounted, and a working position (Fig. 5b), in which they cause the melting of the tape ends Welding tongue 17 is located in the tape guide path, is movable.
- the welding device 15 is pivotable together with the tape guide element 11 around the shared pivot bearing 13, and against the restoring force of a spring 18th movable into the working position.
- a pressure plate 19 is provided against which - see for example Fig. 5b - the pressing device 9 presses the tape ends.
- the pressure plate 19 is also pivotally mounted about a pivot bearing 20. It is also via a roller 21 directly coupled to the pressure device 9 on the rear side thereof and countered there.
- FIGS. 2a, 2b Position moved This means that the right jaw 4 is released first is formed after the associated guide surface 10, as Inclined surface while the movement is being pulled up, and the jaws 4 can slide along it. Due to the restoring force of the spring 8 will he moves in the direction of arrow A around the pivot bearing 6 until the clamping section 22, here the left upper and inward edge, on the strapping 2 attacks. It can be seen that the clamping section 22 is on the left and inwards from the pivot bearing 6.
- the pressing device 9 now continues pushed upwards until the guide surface assigned to the left clamping jaw 5 10 of the pressing device 9 also releases this to the extent that it due to the restoring force of the spring 8 pivoted and jammed on the strapping 2 attacks (arrow B).
- the clamping section 23 is also located here right towards the middle at the upper part of the jaw 5.
- the welding device 15 moves in the direction of the belt guide path, see Fig. 3b.
- the tape guide element 11 and the welding device 15 directly coupled to one another in motion, for which purpose a magnetic coupling 25 is provided, which in the example shown comprises two magnets 26, 27 from which one each on the tape guide element 11 or the welding device 15 is arranged. So if the welding device 15 moves, it will automatically during the given coupling also the welding device 15 um the common pivot bearing 13 moves (arrow D).
- the spring 18 is tensioned.
- the strapping around the packaged goods is after Reaching the position according to FIGS. 3a, 3b in two places via the clamping jaws 4, 5 fixed.
- FIGS. 3a, 3b Starting from the position shown in FIGS. 3a, 3b, the pressing device 9 moved upwards, the roller 14 continues to run on the Guide surface 24, so that the tape guide element 11 continues to follow left out of the tape guide path and the welding device 15 continues is moved to the left into the belt guide path.
- Figures 4a, 4b show the Welding device 15 with welding tongue 17 located in the strip guide path.
- the pressing device now moves from the position according to FIGS. 4a, 4b 9 further up, the strapping is over a knife edge 28 2 in the area of the right jaw 4, which show like the figures has a corresponding passage 29 for the band to be shot, cut off.
- the rear one Tape end 30 with the front tape end 31, which is still in the original Position directly below the pressure piece 19, which has a corresponding catch edge 32 has, lies, overlaps, the hot is between the two Welding tongue 17. In this position the two ends of the band are melted.
- the pressing device 9 are also the two jaws 4, 5 after plant of the guide surfaces 10 pressed apart on them, pivot them around the pivot bearings 6, 7 in the position shown in FIG. 1 a. With that a further welding process, starting with the strapping of the strapping, kick off.
- FIGS. 1a-8b are only basic representations are the principle of operation of the welding head according to the invention represent. For reasons of clarity, housing parts and the like are on which the respective elements are guided or stored, not shown. This also applies to the movement control of the pressing device 9, which has to be raised and lowered cyclically as described. This can e.g. via a suitable curve control, or via a suitable one Lifting equipment, e.g. a cylinder, or an electric motor etc.
- the strapping machine 37 has a belt roll 38, of which tape 2 to be shot is pulled off. This is in a frame 39, the surrounds the packaged goods 40, shot in by the welding head 1. After fixing of the tape over the jaws 4, the frame 39 is opened, so that the band 2 by means of the lever tensioner 41, which pivots to the left and that Takes tape, can be tensioned.
