Abstract

Ein hochmodiger Mikrowellenresonator für die thermische Prozessierung von Werkstoffen hat prismatisch säulenförmig Gestalt mit pentagonalem Querschnitt. Parallel zu den beiden Mantelkanten einer der fünf Mantelwände befinden sich in derselben mindestens zwei gleichartig linienförmige Einkopplungsvorrichtungen für eine Mikrowelle, über die die Mikrowelle jeweils in Form eines Linienstrahlbündels in den Resonator eingekoppelt wird. Die Strahlebene des jeweiligen Linienstrahlbündels ist so gerichtet, dass sich die eingekoppelten Mikrowellenlinienstrahlenbündel im Resonator auffächern und sich in einem vorgegebenen zentralen Volumen um und entlang der Längsachse des Resonators zu einer zumindest weitestgehend homogenen Verteilung des elektromagnetischen Feldes überlagern. Weitere einfache bauliche Maßnahmen eröffnen diesem Resonatorprinzip ein weites Anwendungsfeld.
