Definitions

  • the invention relates to devices for aligning sheets and a method for aligning sheets transversely to the sheet running direction according to the preamble of claims 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 or 29.
  • Draw marks are known in various designs, which draw each sheet against a fixed stop - the actual side mark - predominantly with static friction. Once there, the sheet can stop immediately because the delicately pulled pulling mechanism continues to pull on the sheet, but the static friction immediately changes to sliding friction.
  • suction pulling marks only act on the sheet from below without a clamping effect. They allow you to work in a covered state from the previous end of the sheet and thus higher sheet output per hour than pinch marks. It is disadvantageous, however, that the third subsequent sheet, which is fed under the sheet to be aligned in the shingled stream, must not yet reach the working drawing sheet even with suction drawing marks - as with clamping drawing marks - because it does not get between the suctioned second sheet and suction mouthpiece. He can only do this when the suction mark is not working, ie is "open" for sheets moving in from below.
  • DE 33 02 873 C2 discloses a suction gripper which acts from above and is raised in order to further convey a following sheet under the sheet to be straightened.
  • DE 11 10 656 B shows a back and forth swiveling suction segment for the lateral alignment of sheets.
  • the invention has for its object to provide devices for aligning sheets and a method for aligning sheets transverse to the direction of sheet travel.
  • the new "suction draw marks from above" enable the sheets to run on the feed table to the front marks in a very narrow scale distance, that is to say much more slowly, and reach them at an earlier point in time, because the sheets no longer have an entry barrier.
  • the draw mark line is always free because there is no clamping effect down to the feed table.
  • suction draw mark from above
  • suction draw mark can be combined with a known small lateral offset of the sheets entering the printing press. Then the suction draw mark can also work from above if the sheet end of the preceding sheet still covers the drawing mark line and at the same time a subsequent one. This means that, in a new way, there are not two but three sheets at the same time in the draw mark area, which explains why, despite the significantly higher machine speed, the same or longer sheet alignment times are available from above due to the suction draw marks.

  • FIG. 4 shows that the application times are 50% longer, namely for the front marks 120 ° instead of 80 ° and for the side pull value 90 ° instead of 60 °.
  • This is possible because not only the second sheet, but also the third sheet, can be located in the area between the drawing mark mechanism and front marks 02. At the same time, this allows an economically small scale spacing with lower speed and less risk of rebound when bumping into the front brands.
