Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for gathering printed sheets according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for collating sheets according to the preamble of claim 3.
  • Printed products formed from different signatures are formed by collating individual sheets such as signatures or also signatures from different stacks.
  • Each stack has a stock of a plurality of identical signatures or signatures. From each stack, a single signature is removed and the print or signatures from the various stacks are collected to form a book block or other printed product.
  • a device for collecting signatures in which a stack of multiple signatures is arranged obliquely in a magazine.
  • the respective front sheet is picked up by a tipping sucker and pulled off with its lower, horizontal edge downwards out of the stack.
  • a collating machine in which stacks of several sheets are arranged in successive oblique magazines. With a pushing means, the rear, exposed signature of each stack is pushed up in the magazine until it comes into contact with take-off rollers, which are the ones to be singled Divert the sheet and move it out of the top of the magazine onto a horizontal gathering path above the magazine. In the known collating the respective sheet is pushed up.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a method and apparatus for rapid and nevertheless reliable gathering of sheets, especially folded sheets.
  • a method for achieving this object comprises the measures of claim 1. Accordingly, it is provided to arrange the signatures in the stacks inclined on a horizontal edge and laterally move out of the stack each to be separated, front sheet of each stack from the stack, the respective sheet along the lower horizontal edge, whereby the sheet is inclined to the base of the Magazine gets up, is postponed. As a result, a light guided singling and moving out of each front sheet from the stack is possible.
  • This particular type of arrangement of the printed sheets in the stack and the lateral moving out of the respective front sheet from the stack allows a rapid yet reliable separation of the signatures, with the greatest possible protection of the same, because in particular critical deflections of the signatures are superfluous.
  • the signatures are in the stack on a horizontal edge, and inclined, so that the respective front, currently to be singled sheet leans against a support surface, whereby the stack reliably maintains its position. This makes it possible to carry out the front sheet laterally from the stack.
  • each of the serially arranged (equal) singulators has a magazine for a stack of signatures having a footprint and a support surface.
  • the footprint and the support surface are according to the invention selectively arranged to each other, in such a way that the stack of sheets is inclined in the magazine and thereby support the signatures with lower horizontal edges on the floor space and the rest of the support surface.
  • the support surface for forming a part of the magazine of each separating device is designed or dimensioned such that it only covers a part of the surface of the respective front, currently spans to be separated sheet. At least the support surface leaves a corner region of each lying from the sheet blank.
  • the support surface so that it leaves free a narrow lateral edge region of the front printed sheet, specifically such an edge region which starts from a vertical edge of the printed sheet. This is the vertical edge that advances out of the stack as it moves out of the front sheet.
  • the footprint relative to the horizontal by up to 30 °, preferably about 20 °, inclined. The inclination is chosen so that the footprint falls in the direction of the support surface.
  • the base surface and the support surface are approximately at right angles to each other, so that both surfaces are inclined, but preferably different degrees. Due to the rectangular relative arrangement of the support surface to the support surface then extends the support surface at an angle of up to 120 °, preferably about 110 ° to the horizontal or up to 30 °, preferably about 20 ° to the vertical. Because the support surface also runs obliquely to the vertical, the printed sheets of the stack are supported on the support surface.
  • the support or concern of the signatures both on or on the floor space as well as the support surface leads to a stable in itself housing the signatures in the magazine, whereby a light and reliable separation of the signatures is guaranteed.
  • the base is formed in a preferred embodiment of the device from the upper strand of at least one circulating conveyor belt having conveyor.
  • the conveyor is used to press the stack against the inclined bearing surface of the magazine, so that the front (to be separated) sheet presses not only with a resulting from the inclination horizontal force component against the support surface, but also from the conveyor whose upper run the stand area for lower horizontal edges of the printed sheets in the magazine, is moved to the support surface.
  • the circulating conveyor belt of the conveyor to drive the footprint in opposite directions can be driven.
  • the conveyor then moves not only the stack against the sloping Bearing surface of the magazine, but also away from it.
  • the stack experiences a return stroke in the magazine.
  • This return stroke is preferably only very short, so that only the pressure force of the stack is reduced against the contact surface.
  • the return stroke can be done either before singling or only before or during the removal of the isolated front sheet. It is sufficient if the return stroke is only a few millimeters, so that the directed away from the support surface returning drive of the conveyor belt is only relatively short.
  • the support wall at least one pushing means for horizontally transported away from the front of the inclined in the magazine printing sheet.
  • the thrust means can first be moved or pressed against a lower, lateral area of the surface of the front sheet. Subsequently, the pushing means is moved horizontally, whereby it entrains the front sheet and pushes laterally out of the magazine. So that only a single signature, namely the respective front sheet, is moved out of the stack separated, takes place by Abkippstoff a lifting of the support surface left free corner region or edge region of the front sheet of the next next sheet of the stack. As a result, only the front printed sheet is pushed out of the stack by lateral displacement along the horizontal edge resting on the standing surface and thereby separated.
  • an upright and increasingly larger edge region comes laterally out of the region of the stack.
  • This upright lateral edge region of the front print sheet after being moved a little laterally out of the stack, is picked up by the discharge conveyor, which transports the singulated sheet into the collection device, for example a collection channel for collecting individual signatures from different stacks.
  • the signatures are collected from different stacks. Due to the special arrangement of the signatures in each stack, the individual signatures can be pulled laterally in the direction in which the collation of the signatures takes place from the respective stack.
  • the separating devices sequentially assign the collecting channel that the signatures viewed from above on the device slightly oblique to the longitudinal direction of the collecting channel, preferably at an angle of up to 20 °, in particular about 10 °.
  • Between the stack of each individual separating device and the collection channel of the discharge conveyor is preferably assigned to two opposite sides of each separated sheet associated belt conveyors.
  • the mutually facing strands of the deduction conveyor, between which passes through the individual sheets, as well as the stack are arranged obliquely to the longitudinal direction of the collecting channel, under a similar, possibly the same angle as the stack.
  • At least one of the mutually facing runs of the discharge conveyor runs at a slightly greater angle to the longitudinal direction of the collecting channel. Due to the special arrangement of the discharge conveyor between each stack of a separating device and the collecting channel of the respective separated sheet is introduced into the collecting channel for collecting isolated sheets of different stacks in the manner of a switch.
  • the slightly oblique arrangement of the stack, in particular the discharge conveyor to the longitudinal direction of the collecting channel leads to a harmonious, flat shrinkage of the individual sheets in the collecting channel without a significant deflection of the signatures.
  • the signatures can thus arrive on the shortest route almost directly from the respective stack to the intended location in the collection channel.
  • the figures show a device referred to in the jargon as gathering device for gathering individual signatures, in the illustrated Exemplary folded sheets 10 for forming a book block.
  • the collating machine according to the invention is also suitable for gathering printed sheets, which need not necessarily be folded sheets 10, for the formation of other printed products, such as brochures or catalogs.
  • the apparatus shown is used to collate four different signatures 10 of four stacks of different printed Folded sheets 10.
  • the invention is not limited to such a device, but rather it has a larger or possibly smaller number of stacks 11 different signatures 10 in the rule.
  • Each stack 11 is associated with a singulator 12.
  • the four separating devices 12 shown in the figures are all of the same design.
  • Each separating device 12 has a magazine 13 for receiving the stack 11 from a plurality of folded sheets 10.
  • the individual, separate signatures 10 are arranged to form the stack 11 lying one behind the other in the magazine.
  • Each magazine 13 is formed of a lower conveyor 14 and a fixed landing cloth 15 arranged at one end of the conveyor 14.
  • the conveyor 14 has at least one circulating conveyor belt 16.
  • the conveyor belt 16 of the conveyor 14 can be driven in opposite directions, both in the direction of the Anlegewand 15 with the support surface 18 and away from the Anlegewand 15 (return stroke).
  • the return stroke is comparatively short, namely only a few millimeters.
  • An upper strand of each conveyor belt 16 forms a base 17 of the magazine 13, which carries the stack 11 of a plurality of signatures 10.
  • a facing to one end of the conveyor 14 inner surface of the Anlegewand 15 forms a support surface 18 for abutment of a front folded sheet 10 of the stack 11.
  • the base 17 is slightly inclined to the horizontal, in such a way that they at an angle of 10 ° to 30 ° , preferably about 20 °, downwardly to the support surface 18 extends.
  • the support surface 18 is arranged perpendicular to the base 17, so that it is inclined at an angle of 10 ° to 30 °, preferably 20 ° to the vertical, in such a way that it is to its upper free end of a vertical through a imaginary edge between the base 17 and the support surface 18 is removed.
  • the Anlegewand 15 is dimensioned so that it extends only over part of the surface of the respective front folded sheet 10. As a result, the front folded sheet 10 bears against the support surface 18 of the application garment 15 only with a part of its surface. Decisive for the invention, however, is that a lower lateral corner region 19 of the respective front folded sheet 10 of the Anlegewand 15, in particular the support surface 18 thereof, is released. But this can also be a narrow edge strip. The corner region 19 thus leaves a part of the lower edge, with which the folded sheet 10 is supported on the support surface 17, and a part of the adjoining the horizontal lower edge vertical edge of the signature sheet 10 (Fig. Fig. 5 ) free.
