Definitions
- the invention relates to an air treatment and Heating system, on a heating unit for use in such Plant and on a ventilation unit for use in one such plant.
- the check valve is of particular importance when the common discharge channel divided by a number of ventilation units becomes. If in this case one of the heating units flue gas to Discharge channel can be a defect in an arbitrary Ventilation unit gives rise to a dangerous situation.
- the heating unit with another Check valve to avoid that in case of a defect in the Combustion unit flue gases to the feed opening in the ventilation duct stream.
- This increases safety, as in this way in case of a defect in the heating unit no flue gases to flow back to the supply port can.
- Other measures may also be considered at one such a defect to prevent backflow of flue gases, such as for example electronic detection of the dangerous situation and then turn off the combustion unit, but a check valve offers the simplest solution. If this is closed, the falls Combustion unit by itself in the absence of air supply.
- Each of the rooms is with one own part of the discharge channel provided on the common part of the Discharge channel opens, and each of the rooms is equipped with its own Ventilation unit, heating unit, check valve and control unit, connected to its own part of the discharge channel as described in Claim 1. In this way, each of the rooms is protected from defects.
- control unit is set up to operate at the faulty check valve, and the potentially dangerous situation has not yet occurred, but could occur, also making incineration impossible. This happens even if there is still a flow of air.
- the impossible can be done immediately done or if the defect does not happen within a certain time (for example 24 hours) after generating the alarm signal disappeared. This increases safety and makes it stronger Warning to the user to remedy the defect.
- control unit is set up to fan the Heater unit to turn on detection of absence of a Air flow through the discharge channel of the air treatment plant.
- the fan assumes the function of Ventilation unit at least partially.
- control unit is set up to control the action of the check valve during a test, in which the ventilation unit to a low ventilation strength switches back, whereby there is a significant difference between a first and a second value of the pressure case at each correct Non-return action of the check valve and open without Knockback action, which generates an alarm signal when the control unit when testing the pressure drop below a threshold between the first and the second second pressure drop value remains.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows a discharge channel 16 with an inlet 10 shown, for example, to a common room in a (not shown) Building.
- the air treatment and heating system contains a Ventilation unit 11, a fitting 12 and a heating unit 15th
- the ventilation unit 11 includes a control unit 110.
- the Ventilation unit 11 is between the inlet 10 and the discharge channel 16 arranged.
- the connecting piece 12 is arranged in the discharge channel 16.
- the connector 12 includes branches of the discharge channel 16 to a Feed opening 13 and a discharge opening 14 of the heating unit 15.
- Das Connector 12 further includes a first check valve 120 between the branches for the supply port 13 and the discharge opening 14th
- the heating unit 15 contains, in series with each other, another Check valve 150, a fan 152 and a combustion unit 154.
- the heating unit 15 further includes a control unit 156, the the fan 152, the combustion unit 154 and the check valve 120 of the connecting piece 12 is coupled.
- the combustion unit has continue connections for the transport of heat generated, for example Radiators of central heating and / or connections for tap water.
- the ventilation unit 11 sucks air through the inlet 10 from a common room of a building.
- the ventilation unit preferably includes a fan between the inlet 10 and the discharge channel 16, if desired, the ventilation unit further includes a heat exchanger (not shown) for heating with the sucked air another air flow flowing to a space to be heated.
- the ventilation unit 11 discharges the sucked air through the discharge channel 16, which communicates with the outside world outside the building.
- the ventilation unit 11 normally continuously aspirates air, for example, an amount of 90 to 320 m 3 per hour, depending on a set ventilation intensity.
- the discharged air flows through the connector 12, the air passes through the check valve 120, which is normally open when the pressure in the discharge channel upstream, in the direction of the ventilation unit 11, is higher than downstream in the other direction from the check valve 120th
- the heating unit 15 is normally activated intermittently, for example whenever hot water is needed.
- the control unit 156 turns on the fan 152 to supply combustion air.
- the control unit turns on the fuel supply (for example, natural gas supply) to the combustion unit 154.
- the combustion unit 154 burns the supplied fuel.
- the heating unit 15 uses, for example, an air flow with a flow rate between 3 and 55 m 3 of air per hour. With a minimum discharge of 90 m 3 per hour from the ventilation unit 11, there is still at least one flow with a thickness of 35 m 3 per hour through the check valve 120 from the ventilation unit 11.
- the flue gases that arise during combustion leads the Combustion unit 154 through the discharge opening 14 to the discharge channel 16 downstream of the check valve 120.
- the flue gases are with the normal Air flow direction (indicated by arrows) through the discharge channel 16 dissipated.
- the air flow through the Check valve equal to the air flow from the ventilation unit 11, optionally reduced by the (smaller) air flow through the Heating unit 15. Under normal conditions, the air flow Therefore, by the check valve 120, a minimum flow rate have in one direction from the ventilation unit 11th
- the check valve 120 comes into operation in the event of a defect in the ventilation unit 11, whereby the air flow through the discharge channel eliminated.
- the pressure across the check valve 120 on the side of Abbowan gleiches 14 higher than on the side of the supply port 13th The check valve 120 then closes and prevents flue gases to flow back through the discharge channel 16 in the lounge.
- the check valve 120 may also be defective.
- the following table describes a number of possible situations with a desired reaction of the plant. Ventilation on Ventilation off Check valve 120 permanently open Potential danger , if not resolved within 24 hours, must be burned out Danger of backflow of flue gases from the neighbors up and down Check valve 120 good (open / closed) No danger Normal operation Check the valve once every 24 hours No danger within 24 hours, the ventilation must be on to the boiler allow the valve to be controlled, otherwise the combustion will be blocked later Check valve 120 permanently closed No danger the burning can not work well No danger Burning can work well.
- Ventilation must be activated within 24 hours to allow the heating unit to control the check valve, otherwise the combustion will be blocked later (The aforementioned 24 hours are cited as an example in a period of time that allows a potentially more dangerous situation to persist so short that the risk of accidents remains small, while the user of the facility gets the opportunity to respond before the end of that time period; Of course, the invention is not limited to 24 hours, 12 hours, 48 hours, one week, or periods in between are also contemplated.)
- a potential hazard occurs when the flow rate falls below a threshold when the check valve 120 is stuck, such that flow remains possible.
- the flow direction may even reverse when the ventilation unit 11 has failed or does not work well and the check valve 120 nevertheless remains permanently open.
- a sensor that generates a signal from which the control unit 156 can deduce whether the check valve 120 works well or under certain conditions undesirable open or closed.
- This sensor is used, for example, a flow meter, the Strength of an air flow through the check valve 120 measures, or a Pressure difference meter for measuring the pressure difference between both sides of the check valve 120.
- control unit 156 based on the signal of the sensor in Check valve 120 detects that check valve 120 is permanent or at least remains too open, then the control unit 156 generates Alarm signal due to a potentially dangerous fault on the Check valve 120.
- the control unit 156 preferably switches the combustion unit 154, for example, by turning off the Supply of fuel to the fan 152, also part of the Functions of the heating unit, such as space heating only or only tap heater, off. This is necessary only after some time, for example, 24 hours to give the user the chance give to react to warnings about the defect. Turning off happens in any case, if the control unit 156 in this case no Air flow from the ventilation unit 11 through the check valve 120th measures.
- control unit 156 based on the signal of the sensor in Check valve 120 detects that check valve 120 is permanent or at least closed too much, then the control unit 156 switches for example, not only then, when the control unit 156 supplies fuel to the combustion unit 154 can be fed. Besides, the control unit 156 generates in this case preferably a warning signal that warns the user and / or one Intervention in the action of the plant sets in motion. This is how the control unit leaves 156 in this case, for example, a (not shown) warning light in Lounge flashes or warns you via an internet connection a service or warns you in any other way.
- control unit 156 has a number of possible Modes: a normal mode in which the fan 152 together with Combustion in the combustion unit 154 is turned on, a Safety mode in which the fan is permanently switched on when the check valve 120 is closed, and an alarm mode in which the Combustion unit 154 is turned off.
- security mode assumes the fan of the heating unit 15 in modest extent the ventilation function when the ventilation unit 11 is not or not works well and / or when the check valve 120 is permanently closed is.
- the control unit 156 is preferably configured to be in Cooperation with the ventilation unit 11 a test program for detecting defects on the check valve 120.
- a Embodiment of this test program uses a pressure sensor, the measures a pressure difference across the check valve 120.
- Fig. 3 shows the pressure case (entered vertically) on the Check valve 120 as a function of air flow (horizontal registered) through the check valve 120, both for a good-acting Check valve 120 (curve 30) as well as for a permanently open Check valve (curve 32).
- a good-acting check valve the pressure drop more or less constant over a certain range at flow rates or at least greater than at a completely open Valve, because the pressure drop against the crushing force of the Check valve 120 acts.
- a detection level is shown in FIG. 3, the control unit 156 upon detection of errors in the check valve 120 used.
- Control unit 110 preferably periodically a program in which the Ventilation unit 11 only during a first time interval (for Example 2 minutes) is switched off, then during a second Time interval (for example 2 minutes) on a minimally ventilating Position is turned on and finally during a third Time interval (for example, 2 minutes) to one on a maximum ventilating position is switched.
- a first time interval for Example 2 minutes
- a second Time interval for example 2 minutes
- a third Time interval for example, 2 minutes
- Fig. 4 shows the pressure case on the check valve 120 as a function the time during such a test.
- the first, second and third Time intervals are given as 41a-c.
- a number of pressure gradients 40, 42, 44, 46 are shown, each for a normally acting unit 40, a System with a permanently open check valve 42, with a permanently closed check valve 44 and one failed Ventilation unit 46. Danben also becomes the level of threshold 34 shown.
- a communication link with which the control unit 110 and the control unit 156 Synchronize electronically during testing is preferably a Test algorithm used for which no additional communication needed is.
- FIG. 2 shows a flow chart of the action of the control unit 156 Use of the algorithm according to this embodiment.
- the Control unit 156 cycles through the flow chart (for example once a minute).
- a first step 21 controls the Control unit 156, whether within a predetermined period a test was executed. If not, then the control unit 156 performs a second step 22, in which the control unit 156 an alarm signal generated and the combustion unit 154 turns off. Otherwise the leads Control unit 156 in a third step 23 a normal Control program off.
- a fourth step 24 the control unit 156 checks whether the Pressure drop across the check valve 120 falls below the threshold in Fig. 3 with level 35 is indicated. If not, it works Ventilation unit 11 normal and the control unit 156 terminates the flow chart in a fifth step 25, whereupon the flow chart starts from the first Step 21 is repeated.
- a well-acting Check valve 120 (curve 30). This is the case when the pressure drop occurs a time t2 which is within the second time interval (for Example after 3.5 minutes), has gone over the threshold.
- the control unit 156 stores information that indicates that a test was performed at a given time (see above) that after the first step 21 is not within a predetermined Period of the second step 22 will be executed) and leads afterwards the fifth step 25 from.
- the control unit 156 controls the control unit 156, whether the pressure drop over the Threshold has risen before a next time t3 (for example after four minutes) in the third time interval in which the ventilation unit 11 would have to ventilate maximally. If the pressure case at this time t3 has not yet risen, then apparently there is talk of a defect in the Ventilation unit 11. If the pressure increase, then apparently the speech from an open check valve 120.
- the Control unit 156 from a ninth step 29, in which the control unit 156 generates both the alarm signal and the combustion unit 154 off.
- the control unit 156 now acts on the assumption that the check valve 120 is permanently open so that when burned a dangerous situation could arise if the ventilation unit 11 would fail. If desired, the control unit 156 may thereafter Repeat flowchart from the first step, with the Combustion unit 154 remains off until a good-acting Check valve 120 is detected.
- control unit is a seventh step 27, in which the alarm signal is generated and preferably the combustion unit 154 or not permanently switched off.
- the fan 152 of the Heating unit 15 is now permanently turned on to the function of Partial take ventilation unit 11. If desired, the Control unit repeat the flowchart from the first step, the combustion unit 154 remains off until sufficient Air flow through the check valve 120 is detected.
- the pressure drop only needs one Threshold to be compared. That's why a simple sensor is enough which only indicates whether the pressure drop is above or below the Threshold, such as a sensor with a switch that, if the pressure case crosses the threshold, from one position to other is switched.
- the arrival and Turn off the ventilation unit and test by the control unit 156 are synchronized. In principle, then no special test mode necessary because the control unit 156 can measure in normal operation when the Ventilation unit 11 indicates that they are at maximum or minimum Ventilation strength acts. Optionally, the ventilation unit 11 especially for the test between maximum and minimum ventilation strength turn.
- Turning off the ventilation unit 11 during the test is used for synchronization when between the ventilation unit 11 and the Control unit 156 no other communication is possible. It is included not necessary that switching to minimum ventilation and maximum ventilation in the order described happens. As long as this in a predetermined time ratio to turn off happens, before or after, or after a break, the control unit can determine from what point of time different measurements on the pressure drop must be used.
- the fitting 12 is preferably supplied as a standard part, for connection to a discharge channel 16 and a heating unit 15, but it can also be part of the heating unit.
- the connector 12 includes to channel connections for the discharge channel 16, with, for example, a Diameter of 150 mm (from the inside) and supply and discharge openings for the Heater unit 15 with, for example, a diameter of 80 mm (from Inside).
- the fitting 12 includes the check valve 120, the equipped with a sensor is for the air flow and direction through the check valve 120, with a sensor signal output for Coupling to the control unit 156.
- the connector 12 is at the Heater discharge opening 15 Condensate drainage executed, preferably such that condensate for Combustion unit 154 flows back.
- the ventilation and heating system provides on the one hand protection against the consequences of defects in the plant and on the other hand the possibility of not directly serious defects maintain a certain level of functioning.
- a pressure decay sensor at the check valve 120 can also be a flow sensor can be used.
- the Flow sensor for example, to the check valve 120th positioned that the airflow through a portion of the discharge channel selectively measured where a greater flow velocity occurs, when the check valve 120 partially open at a low pressure drop is. In this way can be determined by the strength of the airflow in the Time interval t1 to t2 the difference between a well-functioning Check valve 120 and a malfunctioning Check valve 120 are detected. Also, a more accurate Flow meters are of course used to in normal use detect dangerous backflow and then an alarm message to create.
- Fig. 5 shows an air treatment and heating system with a Variety of independently ventilated rooms 50.
- Each room has its own part 59a, b of the discharge channel, to a common Part 58 of the discharge channel is connected.
- each a ventilation unit 52 and a Check valve 54 was added.
- each a heating unit 56 recorded with an intake and discharge, respectively in front of and behind the Check valve 54 coupled to the own part 59a, b of the discharge channel are the supply to a first part 59a between the ventilation unit 52 and the check valve 54 and the discharge to a second own Part 59b between the check valve 54 and the common part 58th the discharge channel.
- the removal of the heating unit also be coupled to the common part 59b of the discharge channel.
- each of the heater units 56 operates as described in US Pat Frame of the system of Fig. 1.
- a defect on a check valve 54th Such a system leads to a potential danger Flue gases, which come in principle from each of the heating units 56 can. This risk is denied by the fact that the effect of Check valve periodically with its own ventilation unit 52nd controlled and an alarm signal is given upon detection of a fault, for example, by switching off the own heating unit 56.
