  • the invention is in the field of materials handling and relates to a method and a device according to the preambles of the corresponding independent claims.
  • Method and apparatus are used to convert a stream of at least limited bendable, flat objects, the objects are aligned prior to conversion substantially transversely and after the conversion parallel to the conveying direction or wherein the objects aligned parallel before conversion and after the conversion transversely to the conveying direction are and wherein the flat objects, when they are aligned parallel to the conveying direction, one behind the other, that is not overlapping each other, are promoted.
  • the flat objects are in particular rectangular or square; they are, for example, printed products or stacked groups of parts of multi-page printed products.
  • the mentioned current transformations are realized according to the prior art, for example by a deflection of the objects by an angle of 90 °, which is carried out simultaneously with a transfer from a feed conveyor to a removal conveyor.
  • usually feeders and removal conveyors are used for the said power conversions, of which at least one is operated alternately, or it will when using two continuously operated conveyors at least partially unguided movement accepted in the transfer.
  • the document WO-A-03/078080 discloses a method for converting a stream of flat objects from a cross conveyor into a parallel conveyor or a parallel conveyor into a transverse conveyor using two continuously operated conveyors, wherein the parallel conveyor is pivotable and controllable so that it during the transfer of the objects with in essentially the same direction and speed as the cross conveyor pivots.
  • a continuously operated transverse conveyor is used with a transverse conveying direction, for example, a plurality of rotating conveyor compartments, which are arranged substantially transverse to the transverse conveying direction and in which the flat For example, objects are held by gravity.
  • a transverse conveyor has a plurality of outlets or entrances which move in the transverse conveying direction and at the transverse conveying speed.
  • the cross conveyor are associated with auxiliary conveying means, which are arranged for example in the conveyor compartments and with the aid of which a conveyed by the cross conveyor object is transversely displaceable to the transverse conveying direction.
  • a continuously driven parallel conveyor is used with a parallel conveying direction and a parallel conveying speed, for example, a pair of conveyor belts, between which the objects are conveyed trapped.
  • a parallel conveyor has an input and output which is substantially stationary.
  • Cross conveyor and parallel conveying means are operated continuously and with the same conveying cycle (same conveying capacity), the transverse conveying speed and parallel conveying speed being coordinated with one another in such a way that the objects conveyed in parallel have a predetermined distance from one another.
  • the transverse conveying means is the conveying or conveying conveyor or the parallel conveyor is the conveying away or conveying conveyor. In each conveyor cycle, there is a moment in which an output or input of the Querföderstoffs is aligned with the input and output of the longitudinal conveyor.
