  • Dual clutch transmissions have a number of gears on a first input shaft of a first sub-transmission and a number of gears on a second input shaft of a second sub-transmission.
  • the lowest gear ratio is preferably arranged on the one input shaft, the next higher gear ratio on the other shaft, etc., so that one sub-transmission has the even forward gears and the other sub-transmission has the odd forward gears.
