- the vertical mounting position of the upper portion work platform 21 is also desirable for the vertical mounting position of the upper portion work platform 21 to be made adjustable. In this manner, it is possible to adapt easily to changes in height from the landing platform 5 of the uppermost floor to the hoistway ceiling portion 1e.

- a backup member 33 constituted by a steel pipe is connected by means of sixth metal connecting fittings (sixth clamping members) 34 between two diagonal foundation members 8 in a vicinity of base end portions 8a.
- the backup member 33 extends so as to lie cross the landing entrance 2 horizontally, two end portions coming into contact with the hoistway front wall 1a on two sides of the landing entrance 2.
- Pin apertures 12c are disposed on a portion of each of the diagonal foundation members 8 slightly above the sixth metal connecting fittings 34.
- a pin 35 is inserted through each of the pin apertures 12c.
- Two end portions of each of the pins 35 project outward from surfaces of the diagonal foundation members 8.
- a dislodgment preventing nut is screwed onto a leading end portion of each of the pins 35.
- the backup member 33 is connected between the diagonal foundation members 8 and the two end portions of the backup member 33 are placed in contact with the hoistway front wall 1a, the base end portions 8a of the diagonal foundation members 8 are prevented from slipping away from the hoistway 1, thereby also improving the stability of the scaffolding.

- the work scaffolding apparatus according to the present invention is installed mainly on the landing platform of an uppermost floor, but if necessary, the work scaffolding apparatus according to the present invention can also be installed on the landing platform of a landing floor other than the uppermost floor.
- the work scaffolding apparatus according to the present invention can also be used for work in elevator hoistways having a machine room.
- two foundation posts 6, two diagonal foundation members 8, and two horizontal foundation beams 12 are disposed, but in some cases, three or more of each of these may also be disposed.
- suspended posts 16 are used, but in some cases, five or more suspended posts may also be used. In that case, three or more supporting beams 14 may also be used.
