Thanks to the fact that the moisture-heat exchanger unit itself allows alternative flow paths, the need for an external bypass pipe and a special external valve for the control of the flow is eliminated.

Abstract
Cette invention concerne un appareil échangeur de chaleur humide destinée à l'aération d'un patient. L'appareil est muni d'un boîtier (42, 43) conçu pour laisser passer l'air, qui comprend un filtre (44) pouvant absorber et désorber l'humidité. Selon l'invention, une soupape rotative (48, 49) est ménagée dans le boîtier (42, 43) pour créer deux circuits d'écoulement de l'air alternes à travers le boîtier (42, 43). Un premier circuit d'écoulement amène l'air à circuler à travers le filtre (44) et un second circuit d'écoulement amène l'air à circuler à travers le boîtier (42, 43) sans passer par le filtre.
