Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for producing a fiber-reinforced, in particular long-fiber-reinforced, plastic, in part by means of a lost-core technique, wherein at least one melt core made of a metal alloy is inserted into a mold and coated with reinforcing fibers and a plastic matrix surrounding the reinforcing fibers, and the plastic matrix is solidified and the dimensionally stable plastic part is then attached demolded and the melting core is melted out.
  • the invention also includes an apparatus for performing the method. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a melt core alloy for the production of plastic parts by means of the lost core technique.
  • the lost-core technique is a known process for the production of plastic bodies, in which a melt core is placed in the cavity of a molding press, coated with plastic and fiber structures, and the plastic is solidified or cured. The core is then melted out and recycled.
  • the melting cores are usually poured into the desired shape in casting molds.
  • melted-out core material can be poured back into fused cores in a closed material cycle, if necessary after an intermediate cleaning.
  • Known melting cores exist e.g. made of a low-melting SnBi metal alloy.
  • WO 96/26799 and DE 37 24 665 A1 deal with melting cores made of BiSn alloys, which melt out at around 138 ° C. Since the hardened plastic jacket of the plastic part has a significantly higher melting or decomposition temperature than the melting temperature of the melting core, the core melting process can take place without adverse consequences for the plastic part.
  • the BiSn alloys are generally used in a eutectic composition (42% by weight Sn / 58% by weight Bi). They are characterized by good castability and low shrinkage.
  • the plastic part is filled with the reinforcing fibers and the plastic matrix after loading the mold, for example. is processed at a temperature of around 110 ° C. until it has reached its dimensional stability, solidified, cured or polymerized and then heated to the melting temperature of the melting core, for example around 140 ° C. This happens e.g. in a liquid bath in which the melting core is melted out.
  • the plastic part contains at least one melting opening through which the liquefied melt core can be removed to the outside.
  • the plastic part is cleaned and cooled at the same time. Cleaning takes place, for example, with warm water at a temperature of e.g. around 60 ° C.
  • the plastic part is fed to a tempering process in which it is heated to the tempering temperature of e.g. is heated around 145 °.
  • the component is fully hardened and thereby receives the desired mechanical properties. Annealing is e.g. carried out in a specially designed tempering furnace.
  • the known method as described above is characterized by a frequent temperature change between charging the mold with the starting components, curing the plastic, melting out the melting core, cleaning the plastic part and annealing the plastic part.
  • the temperature control described above with numerous temperature changes is not particularly economical in terms of process. In addition to increased energy consumption, the manufacturing process is slowed down and more complicated due to the constant temperature changes.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a production method for fiber-reinforced plastic parts which has improved temperature control, which on the one hand leads to energy savings and on the other hand simplifies and speeds up the process.
  • the object is achieved in that the melting core is melted out after the demolding and the plastic part is annealed, the thermal energy in the plastic part and in the melting core depending on the because the previous process step is essentially preserved and carried into the next process step.
  • the process temperature of the plastic part and the melt core is preferably kept or increased essentially constant in the successive process steps between the hardening of the plastic part before it is removed from the mold and the beginning of the tempering process.
  • the temperature control according to the present invention thus does not have mutually alternating cooling and heating cycles, but rather is characterized by a certain continuity. That the temperature is mostly kept constant or rises. Stronger cooling phases of the plastic components or their melting cores are not provided, a relatively slight cooling due to the transport of the plastic part between the execution of two successive process steps not being ruled out.
  • the temperature control described above maintains a minimum temperature level which corresponds approximately to the demolding temperature or is only slightly below it. As a result, the residual heat from the shaping process is taken into the tempering or lost core process, which ultimately means significant energy savings.
  • the process temperature of the plastic part and the melt core preferably decreases by at most 25 ° C., advantageously at most 15 ° C. and in particular at most 5 ° C. between the hardening of the plastic part before it is removed from the mold and the beginning of the tempering process.
  • the melting of the melting core is preferably carried out before, at the beginning and / or during the annealing.
  • the thermal energy used to melt out the melting core simultaneously serves to anneal the component.
  • the melting of the melting core and the annealing of the plastic part is preferably carried out in an annealing furnace.
  • the annealing furnace can be, for example, a continuous furnace.
  • Means for heating the plastic part with heated circulating air may be provided.
  • the oven is e.g. operated by means of a resistance heater and preferably by means of induction heating. Due to the process, the inductive melting out of the melting core takes place at lower temperatures and in a shorter time than that Melting out by means of resistance heating, whereby the temperature load on the plastic part can be reduced.
  • the induction field can be generated by an open or closed coil partially or completely encompassing the plastic part with the melting core.
  • the plastic part is heated from the inside at the same time as the thermal energy introduced to heat the melting core to its melting temperature for the purpose of initiating the core melting.
  • the thermal energy supplied to the melt core also serves to anneal the plastic part.
  • the melting core is preferably heated to its melting temperature by means of induction heating.
  • the plastic part expediently contains one or more openings which serve to melt out the core material and / or to supply air during the melting out.
  • the openings are preferably made after the plastic part has been removed from the mold and before the melting process is initiated.
  • the opening (s) in the plastic part, and in particular the outlet opening (s), which are used for melting, are closed before the melting process begins, so that the molten melt core material is retained in the cavity, i.e. is released with a delay.
  • this serves to optimize the tempering of the plastic part, since it is also heated from the inside by heat transfer from the melting core to the plastic part. Furthermore, by retaining the melt core until its (complete) molten state is reached, better inductive heating and thus a shorter melting time is achieved than if the melt can flow out continuously and the melt core is melted and melted from the edge.
  • the liquefaction of the melt core can be carried out by means of a sensor which, for example, based on a thermocouple, are monitored so that the complete liquefaction of the melt core is detected and displayed by the sensor and the outlet openings can be opened accordingly.
  • the melting core is only removed from the cavity with or after the complete melting.
  • the plastic part is appropriately cooled after the tempering. Furthermore, the plastic part is preferably cleaned after the tempering (Cavity cleaning), whereby remnants of the melting core are removed from the cavity.
  • the plastic part can e.g. chemically, ie using suitable solvents.
  • the cleaning can also be carried out by washing out with water, in particular by means of steam, or another suitable washing liquid, e.g. Glucol.
  • the plastic part can also be mechanically, e.g. by blowing out the plastic part using compressed air, in particular heated or hot compressed air, or by thermal shock in liquid gas, e.g. Nitrogen, happen. Chemical and mechanical cleaning stages can also be combined.
  • the melt core alloy can contain additional additives (e.g. further alloy elements), which can be designed in such a way that they increase the surface tension and / or the viscosity of the melt and thereby reduce the wetting.
  • additional additives e.g. further alloy elements
  • release agents can also be applied to the melt cores, which significantly reduce wetting and cause a so-called lotus effect.
  • These can be known mold release agents from plastics or metal processing, e.g. based on graphite, boron nitride or silicone.
  • a final cleaning step may be dispensed with, or at least reduced.
  • the method according to the invention for producing a fiber-reinforced, in particular long-fiber-reinforced, plastic part by means of lost-core technology can be carried out by means of various shaping methods.
  • the shaping process means the process or sub-process which involves the provision of the fiber structures and the starting components of the plastic matrix system and the melt core, the loading of an associated molding tool with the components mentioned and the molding process up to the removal of the dimensionally stable plastic part from the molding tool includes.
  • the molding process is preferably a so-called LCM (Liquid Composite Molding) process.
  • LCM process or LCM technology is understood to mean a process in which the cavity of a multi-part mold, in particular a two-part mold, is provided with a single or multi-part fiber blank or fiber structure is fed and a thermosetting or thermoplastic plastic matrix system is fed or injected into the cavity of the closed mold, which flows through the fiber blank to form a fiber composite part and fills the cavity of the molding tool, and the fiber composite part after completion of the Mold filling is cured or polymerized and removed from the mold.
  • thermosetting plastic matrix system can comprise an epoxy resin which cross-links to form a thermosetting plastic in the curing process.
  • a thermoplastic plastic matrix system can e.g. cyclic oligomers which crosslink in a polymerization process to form a PBT (polyethylene terephthalate).
  • the thermoplastic plastic matrix can also be a polyester or a PA (polyamide).
  • thermosetting plastic matrix system is processed in the LCM process, this is a so-called RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process, also called resin flow molding process.
  • RTM Resin Transfer Molding
  • the RTM process is characterized by the fact that a low-viscosity reactive resin is injected into a molding tool loaded with reinforcing fibers and then cured to form a thermoset.

  • permanent cores are also placed in the mold to produce the plastic parts.
  • the invention also relates to a core for the production of fiber-reinforced plastic parts in the core process, consisting of a metal alloy containing bismuth (Bi) and tin (Sn).
  • Metal melting cores have the advantage over wax melting cores, which are also frequently used, that they are more resistant to pressure and temperature. In particular in injection processes in which the resin is injected into the mold at high pressures, wax cores prove to be too soft, which can lead to the wax being pressed into the fiber structures.
  • Metal melting cores are cast as so-called full cores. Logistical problems therefore arise in the production of plastic parts which require large-volume melting cores, since on the one hand the large and correspondingly heavy melting cores are cumbersome to handle and can lead to problems in particular in automated process sequences. Furthermore, when using large-volume solid cores, an enormous flow of material is set in motion, which makes the process flow cumbersome and slows down, and entails high energy consumption. In addition, low-melting metal alloys, such as SnBi, are relatively expensive, so that as little material as possible is desired. It is therefore the goal to produce melt cores with a predetermined outer contour using as little alloy material as possible.
  • DE 3724665 A1 proposes to use the melting core with fillers, e.g. Hollow bodies made of glass to be cast, which take up corresponding volume and are removed from the interior of the core when the core melts out by destroying it.
  • fillers e.g. Hollow bodies made of glass to be cast, which take up corresponding volume and are removed from the interior of the core when the core melts out by destroying it.

Description

Fig. 1 : ein Prozessdiagramm zum erfindungsgemässen Verfahren;
Fig. 2: ein Phasendiagramm einer BiSn-Legierung für Schmelzkerne gemäss Stand der Technik;
Fig. 3: Eigenschaftsdiagramm von BiSn-Legierungen mit verschiedenen Legie- rungszusätzen;
