Abstract

Beschrieben wird eine Zündkerze
- mit einem Körper (1) aus einem unedlen metallischen Werkstoff, in welchem ein Isolator (2) angeordnet ist,
- mit einer im Isolator (2) angeordneten Mittelelektrode (3),
- mit einer von dem Körper (1) ausgehenden Masseelektrode (4), auf welche ein der Mittelelektrode (3) zugewandtes Formteil (6) geschweißt ist, dessen Masse überwiegend aus einem oder mehreren Edelmetallen besteht, und
- mit einem zwischen dem Formteil (6) und der Masseelektrode (4) vorgesehenen Zwischenstück (9), welches einerseits mit dem Formteil (6) und andererseits mit der Masseelektrode (4) verschweißt ist.
Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass das Zwischenstück (9) einen thermischen Ausdehnungskoeffizienten hat, der allenfalls unwesentlich von dem thermischen Ausdehnungskoeffizienten der unedlen Masseelektrode (4) abweicht.
