Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for mixing water and gas for drinking purposes explained in the preamble of claim 1 Art.
  • the GB 572 242 shows a device for treating liquid with gas, which is not used for drinking purposes.
  • the apparatus includes a housing and a vibrating diaphragm housed therein and provided with small-sized perforations.
  • the membrane is circumferentially connected to the housing wall either directly or via a skirt, so that the gas entering below the membrane and the water can only pass through the fine perforations of the membrane.
  • the known device is not designed for generating turbulence, but is designed such that the gas bubbles are mechanically disrupted or divided by the membrane and thereby distributed finer in the water. Also, the membrane should not be considered as a plunger.
  • the EP 1 533 024 describes a device for crushing agglomerates, in particular by breaking up microparticles by a piston movement in a container.
  • This device contains a piston which moves in the container and which is guided via a piston rod and designed to generate turbulence. There is a flow connection between the two end faces of the piston.
  • the known device is also suitable for mixing gas in water.
  • the entire vibration energy must be applied by the drive.
  • the US 4,822,531 describes a method for carbonating water and an apparatus therefor comprising a housing in which two chambers are formed. Each of the chambers is separately provided with a CO 2 connection, a water connection and a connection for discharging carbonated water. The two chambers are separated by a piston which moves alternately into one or the other chamber to displace the carbonated water from the respective chamber. For distributing the gas in the water, each chamber is provided with a stirrer.
  • Another mixing device is from the DE 10055856 known.
  • the known mixing device contains a microstructure, which finely distributes both the water and the gas and then brings them together, so that the carbon dioxide uptake is greatly increased by the increased surface of the water.
  • Another mixing device is from the WO 2006/012874 It is known that the circulation or booster pumps often used in dispensing systems can also be used for carbonation when combined with a cross-sectional constriction in the adjacent line which provides for further pressure increase.
  • the known device is preferably designed for introducing oxygen into salt water for supplying aquatic farms for marine animals. However, it can also be used for carbonating.
  • the centrifugal force is exploited by a tangential introduction of a gas-water mixture in a cylindrical housing to improve the mixing result.
  • the invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a device for mixing water and gas for drinking purposes, which is structurally simple and inexpensive to manufacture, and ensures good mixing of water and gas.
  • a turbulent flow is generated in the mixing device, which greatly increases the interface between water and gas.
  • the mechanically generated turbulences provide for atomization and mixing of the gas bubbles and the water and thus for an excellent solution of the gas in the water. Since the turbulences are based solely on the kinetic energy of the vibrating component by the mixing device according to the invention, the mixing device according to the invention is independent of flow temperatures, flow rates and pressure ratios or their changes in the course of operation. Experiments have shown that it is possible with the device according to the invention to achieve a relatively high gas content; so was z. B. achieved a CO 2 content of more than 6 g / l in drinking water.
  • the oscillating movement can be effected by the water pressure itself or preferably by its own drive device, in particular by an electromagnet.
  • a pressure-increasing device can additionally be provided, which increases (further) the pressure in the water / gas mixture.
  • Fig. 1 shows in a highly schematic manner a device 1 according to the invention for mixing water and gas for drinking purposes.
  • the device 1 is preferably designed for mixing drinking water with carbon dioxide (carbonator), but can also be used for an input of oxygen or other gases.
  • carbon dioxide carbonator
  • the device 1 contains a mixing device 2, which in the illustrated embodiment contains a turbulence generator 2 a and a mixing section 2 b.
  • the mixing device 2 opens a water supply 3 and a gas supply 4.
  • the water supply 3 is preferably connected to the local drinking water network, but can also be connected to storage tank.
  • the water supply is preferably carried out under pressure, in particular under the pressure of the local water supply network.
  • a pressure regulator 5 and a check valve 6 is provided in place of the pressure regulator 5 or in addition to the pressure regulator 5, an additional pump (not shown), e.g. a Schwingankerpumpe known design, to increase the pressure in the mixing device 2 are provided.
  • the gas supply 4 is preferably connected to a gas cylinder 7 or another gas supply, again via a pressure regulator 8 and a check valve 9.
  • Water and gas supply 3, 4 open in the illustrated embodiment in a common line, which is designed as a mixing section 2b, and a first mixing of gas and water allowed.
  • the mixing section 2b leads into the turbulence generator 2a.
  • a turbulent flow is generated in the water / gas mixture, which is introduced via the mixing section 2b, by registered mechanical vibrations, which very finely distributes the gas in the water and thus ensures a good solution of the gas in the water.
  • the turbulence generator 2a includes a housing 10 in which a plunger 11 is disposed. Housing 10 and plunger 11 are oscillatable relative to each other, wherein in the preferred embodiment, the plunger 11 in the housing 10 performs an oscillating movement.
  • the housing 10 is substantially cylindrical, preferably circular cylindrical, formed and provided on an end face 10a with an inlet port 12a for connecting the preferably tubular mixing path 2b, wherein the terminal 12a is preferably coaxial with the longitudinal axis 10 'of the housing 10.
  • the second end face 10b of the inlet port 12a opposite Housing 10 is provided with an outlet port 12b, to which a bleed line 13 is connected.
  • the outlet port 12b is coaxial with the longitudinal axis 10 'of the housing 10th
  • the plunger 11 is preferably also cylindrical and movable in the direction of the longitudinal axis 10 'along the double arrow A back and forth.
  • the plunger 11 is preferably spring-mounted in the interior of the housing 10.
  • the plunger 11 is supported by a first spring 14 which is formed as a return spring and is supported between an end face of the plunger 11 and an end face of the housing 10.
  • the plunger 11 is resiliently mounted via a further spring 15, which is designed as a damping spring and is supported between the second end face of the plunger and the second end face of the housing 10.
  • the return spring is supported on the inlet 12a facing end face 10a and the corresponding end face 11a, while the damping spring between the opposite, the bleed pipe 13 facing end faces 11b, 10b is supported.
  • the turbulence generator 2a includes a flow connection 16, which connects the two end faces 11a, 11b of the plunger together.
  • the flow connection 16 is formed as a through hole through the plunger from one end face 11a to the opposite end face 11b.
  • the through hole is preferably in the longitudinal axis 10 'of the housing 10 and has substantially a smooth wall surface.
  • the flow connection 16 may also, like the FIGS. 1 2, on the circumference of the plunger 11 and / or in or outside the wall of the housing 10 may be provided.
  • the water / gas mixture may therefore optionally flow through the plunger and / or around the plunger.
  • the effective flow cross-section of the flow connection 16 between the end faces 11a and 11b of the plunger 11 need not, as in Fig. 2 may be larger than the effective flow areas in the areas of the inlet port 12a and the outlet port 12b, but may be the same or smaller.

This contains an electromagnet in the form of a magnetic coil which extends around the housing 10 and is preferably applied with an alternating voltage of 50 or 60 Hz. The plunger oscillates at this frequency.
  • the movement can also be derived from an applied water pressure.
  • the rotational movement of a rotor driven by the water / gas mixture is to be converted into the oscillating linear movement of the plunger.
  • the turbulence generator 2a may be formed in the manner of a conventional vibration tank pump in which the check valves have been removed.
  • the dispensing line 13 leads to a dispensing opening 21, below which a collecting vessel 22, for example a drinking or a storage vessel can be placed and filled with the gas mixed with water.
  • a dispensing valve 23 is further turned on, which is opened when the dispensing of a beverage through the dispensing opening 21 is desired.
  • the bleed line 13 includes a compensator 24 of conventional design, which prevents too rapid pressure release, and a pressure reduction is effected with minimal stall to avoid excessive outgassing.
  • the device according to the invention is provided with some kind of control which initiates and terminates a pin of gas displaced with gas.
  • this may be a manually operable element with which the valve 23 is opened so that the pressure prevailing in the water supply (local water supply) and / or in the gas supply (gas cylinder) presses water and gas through the device 1.
  • Water and gas first pass into the mixing section 2b for a first, coarse mixing. Subsequently, this mixture enters the housing 10, where the mixture is caused by the mechanical vibrations in a turbulent flow, whereby the gas bubbles are increasingly crushed and takes place a fine distribution of the gas in the water.
