Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cushioning element comprising a cushion cover and a cushion received therefrom, wherein the cushion cover consists of a single- or multi-layer cover material which has a decor on the visible side and meets the criteria water impermeability and high tear resistance, the cushion cover being removable from the cushion and the upholstery covering in the region of seams has an additional seam seal by gluing.
- the requirements for the coverings of upholstery elements intended for outdoor use are high.
- the upholstery cover must be durable and should have a relatively high tear resistance. Due to the weather, the upholstery element is exposed to high temperature fluctuations as well as UV radiation due to solar radiation.
- the upholstery cover should also be removable from the upholstery element, which as a rule comprises a foam filling. This is often a zipper used, so you can split the cover and take out the filling. However, this in turn creates problems in terms of weatherability because a zipper connection is generally not sufficiently waterproof.
- the upholstery cover not only the upholstery cover, but also the upholstery must comply with the requirements of weather resistance in conventional upholstery elements. Since the cover is not sufficiently waterproof, the foam is exposed to moisture. Temperature fluctuations of the environment also affect the foam of the filling. Further requirements result from the fact that the upholstery should ensure comfort and high seating comfort, in particular for sitting or lying furniture. Since on the market so far absolutely impermeable upholstery covers for outdoor use are known, are at Poisterettin the requirements mentioned usually not sufficiently met, so that they have only a limited life.
- a cushioning element is described. It is a weather-resistant support for chairs or loungers, which is intended in particular for outdoor use.
- This edition includes a resilient filling which is covered by a cover.
- the cover consists essentially of plastic, but the material is designed so that it is permeable to water vapor and also for liquid water.
- the reference parts have openings through which the water can pass. The circulation should thereby dry quickly.
- the foam of the filling enveloped by the cover is not protected against moisture.
- a knitted fabric is used as a carrier, are coated in the plastic fibers such as polyester with a soft PVC. It should also be a certain protection against temperature fluctuations and UV radiation can be achieved.
- a removable upholstery cover for a piece of furniture in which a cover fabric is used with an inner wall and an outer wall, which can be stretched on the upholstery piece so that it partially extends double-layered over the formed as a foam pad piece.
- the fabric itself is single-layered.
- the inner wall of the cover fabric may be made of a different material than the outer wall, for example of a low-cost and durable fleece.
- the cushion cover may have a slot which can be closed by a zipper.
- the DE 72 20 867 is a seat pad consisting of a textile cover with a back sealing layer and an in situ foam core described.
- the textile cover consists of a stretchable mesh or a stretchable flocked fabric
- the sealing layer consists of an elastomer
- the foam core is based on a cold foam formulation.
- the sealing layer can also serve a film.
- the sealing layer on the back of the textile fabric is therefore used to avoid warping the foam core when warping the warp and weft threads.
- the sealing layer is sufficiently stretchable and wrinkling in the cover is avoided.
- the stretchable textile cover is foam-backed with the foam, so that a non-detachable Connection between foam and coating is given. The cover can therefore not be removed for cleaning purposes.
- the Swiss patent CH 364 479 also describes an elastic material web for upholstery covers, which has a layer of a rubber-elastic mass, which is provided on one side with a sheet-like textile product connected to it.
- the rubber-elastic mass here is a foam layer, which is connected by back-casting with the textile fabric.
- a foam layer has pores, it can be assumed that the cover does not have a watertightness sufficient for outdoor use.
- the publication also contains no statement. Since this upholstery cover for automobiles and railway cars (thus for the interior) is used, this requirement does not matter. Nor is it usual to remove such covers from the upholstery.
- Matratzenbezugsstoffe are also known from the prior art. For example, this describes DE 203 09 793 U1 Such a mattress cover fabric, wherein on the mattress facing the underside of the multi-layered fabric a liquid-impermeable barrier layer is arranged.
- the requirements for mattresses are different than for upholstery, which are intended for outdoor use. Consequently, it is also provided in the known mattress cover fabric, that the upper layer is formed permeable to water vapor. The cover can therefore first absorb moisture, it should only the mattress core are protected from moisture.
- this mattress is not intended to remove the fabric from the mattress core, which is usually not required for mattresses.
- mattresses are used indoors, so that the fabric is not as heavily stressed as in upholstery, which are exposed to the weather over a long period of time, that is, moisture, temperature fluctuations and UV light.
- the extra stress is added by movements of the person sitting on the upholstery.
- upholstery covers are subject to enormous wear outdoors and in most cases are not left permanently outdoors.
- a cushion element comprising a cushion cover and a recorded by this pad of the type mentioned above known. It is a mattress with an elastic pad of urethane foam, which is covered by a cushion cover made of a textile fabric material.
- the cover on the top of the cushioning member is a single-layered nylon fabric treated with only a water-repellent agent.
- the cover which also consists of a nylon fabric in its outer layer, is additionally coated on the inside with a waterproof membrane made of a urethane layer.
- the cushion element is provided here as a mattress for the transport of persons in an emergency situation. Consequently, it is at best exposed to the weather for a short period of time.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a suitable for outdoor upholstery element of the aforementioned type, in which the pad is permanently protected from moisture, the upholstery has a high durability and a lasting aesthetically pleasing appearance, with simultaneous possibility , Upholstery cover and upholstery for cleaning the upholstery cover to separate.
- the upholstery cover is removable from the pad and that the padding cover in the region of seams has an additional seam seal by gluing.
- Upholstery cover and internal upholstery are thus separated from each other, so that the upholstery cover can be cleaned if necessary.
- the seam sealing ensures that even in the area of the seams no water can penetrate through the upholstery cover into the interior.
- a water-impermeable upholstery fabric is used, which has an aesthetically pleasing decor to the outside and is weather-resistant is (especially against influences of UV light and temperature fluctuations).
- the tear resistance should be permanent.
- a cushion element is created, which can be left in the open air even in harsh weather conditions (pouring rain, heat, strong sunlight, cold, etc.). Only with a required cleaning of the upholstery is this removed and cleaned from the upholstery element.
- the outer surface forming layer may be more structured as needed. Also, the layer forming the inner surface of the cover and thus facing the pad may optionally have a (minor) surface structure.
- the invention further provides that the upholstery covering in the region of seams has an additional seam seal by gluing.
- a polyurethane or a copolymeric adhesive can be applied in the seam area.
- the adhesive enters into a permanent and difficult to detach connection with the substrate.
- the preferred use of a high viscosity adhesive provides a permanently elastic adhesive.
- an elastic sealing tape to perform a seam seal, wherein this can be connected to the lower material via a two-component adhesive. It can also be applied, for example, an elastic thermally activatable sealing strip, which is heated and is connected via a pressure contact with the lower material.
- the upholstery can be separated from the upholstery cover in that the upholstery cover has at least one zipper along which at least one seal is arranged.
- the sealing in the region of the zipper makes it possible for the areas of the cover, which are otherwise sensitive to moisture penetration, to adjoin the zipper and have a high degree of water-tightness, in particular complete impermeability to water.
- the solution according to the invention relates to a upholstery covering which meets the aforementioned criteria, by the use of a suitable text leather (artificial leather).
- a suitable text leather artificial leather
- a textile leather layer may include, for example, suitable plastics such as polyvinyl chloride.
- the textile leather layer is backed by a fabric reinforced , for example, a mesh-like fabric which may for example also consist of natural fibers such as cotton or the like.
- a cover fabric itself is completely impermeable to water, when sewing, an additional seam seal is provided in the region of the seams, in order to prevent penetration of moisture there.
- a zipper can be incorporated, which is optionally additionally sealed.
- the padding cover according to the invention has a high tensile strength. If a zipper is incorporated into the padding cover as described above, it should preferably have a high transverse tear resistance, for example a transverse tear resistance (warp) of at least about 250 N / cm, preferably at least about 300 N / cm.
- the cushion cover is preferably designed to withstand an internal pressure (gauge) of at least about 0.3 bar, preferably at least about 0.35 bar. This can be tested, for example, by blowing air into the interior of the cover or a gas at a predetermined pressure and then dipping the cushion in water and determining whether air bubbles are passing through the cover.
- a further object of the present invention is to provide a cushioning element which provides a high level of comfort to the user in seating and reclining furniture.
- a particularly preferred structural embodiment according to a development of the task solution according to the invention provides that the pad is made up of at least two units, which consist of different materials. This makes it possible, for example, to use different foams for the pad, the properties of which then combine. It is possible, for example, to combine softer and harder foams. These materials can be glued together in sandwich construction.
- At least one first softer padding unit is provided of a softer padding foam having a compression hardness of less than 3 kPa and / or at least one second harder padding unit of a stronger padding foam having a compression hardness of more than 5 kPa.
- the softer foam may be a thermoelastic material that changes upon exposure to heat and depressurizes the pressure so that a reaction occurs when a person sits down on the cushioning element and adjusts itself to the body shape, resulting in a high seat / Bed comfort contributes.
- FIG. 1 The illustration shows an inventive cushioning element 10, which is shown only in a partial section and schematically simplified.
- This comprises a cushion cover 11, which is three-layered and whose construction is described below with reference to FIG. 4 is explained in more detail.
- This upholstery cover 11 surrounds a cushion 12 consisting of foam.
- the upholstery element 10 is, for example, a cushion and the upholstery 12 is the filling which is enveloped on all sides by the upholstery cover 11.
- the pad 12 is removable from the cover 11 for the purpose of cleaning, for which purpose in the cover a zipper 13 is sewn, which in FIG. 1 is shown in the partially open state, so that you can recognize the recorded inside pad 12 (filling).
- the cushion cover 11 has various seams 14.
- each have a sealing strip 15 is provided which extends parallel to the zipper 13 along this, whereby this area is additionally sealed against penetrating moisture.
- FIG. 2 the top of the upholstery 11 is shown.
- the outer of three layers of the cover which consists of a highly durable and highly tear-resistant textile material, which is relatively strong structure.
- This uppermost layer 16 has parallel stripe-shaped quilted areas 17 extending in an extension direction of the textile material. Between these strip-shaped regions 17 are each fields 18, which are slightly wider than the strips and in which the yarn forms an approximately honeycomb-shaped or approximately rectangular structure.
- This uppermost layer 16 of the three-layered material may consist of Cordura, for example.
- FIG. 3 the inside of the upholstery cover 11 is shown.
- the innermost layer 19 of the upholstery cover recognizable there consists of a very finely structured textile material, for example a polyester fabric. This innermost of the three layers can be thinner and smoother than the ones in FIG. 2 recognizable outer comparatively strongly structured surface layer 16.
- FIG. 4 the three-layer structure of the fabric explained in more detail.
- a Cordura fabric can be used in which the cut fibers were re-spun and interwoven.
- a third layer 20 is still arranged, which is a rubber-like layer, so that the entire arrangement of the upholstery reference shows a three-layer structure.
- This third intermediate layer 20 provides the waterproofing of the cover.
- a butyl rubber (polyisobutylene) or the like may be used for this layer 20.
- This rubber-like layer 20 is connected to the other two layers 16 and 19 each surface and cohesively, for example, you can each with the textile layer the rubbery layer coating and / or gluing and / or under the influence of heat compression or by other suitable methods connect so that a kind of laminate with a three-layer structure is formed.
- the upholstery reference usable material is described in detail. It is a leather imitation of polyvinyl chloride used, which is flame retardant and has a high light fastness, for example, level 7 according to ISO 105 B02, which corresponds to the second highest value.
- the abrasion resistance according to Martindale is 100,000 tours.
- the textile leather used has an absolute impermeability to water, is dirt-repellent, skin and environmentally friendly, very resistant to abrasion, light and colorfast.
- the abrasion resistance was tested dry and wet according to ISO 105 X12 and was 5.
- a blank made of textile leather upholstery fabric is then sewn to form an approximately rectangular two-ply cushion cover for a seat cushion, the seams being carefully sealed on the inside with an adhesive which is particularly suitable for this material.
- the upholstery cover is sewn so that it is then closed on all sides except for one side, which remains open, so that you can introduce the upholstery there later.
- a zipper is sewn in at this open side, whereby a seal is arranged on both sides along the zipper.
