Description
- La présente invention concerne un coupleur à ultra large bande de jonction à mode orthogonal pour séparer des bandes à double polarisation se propageant par exemple dans une antenne-cornet.
- On connaît du document
EP 0222086 un transducteur de polarisation pour micro-ondes, reposant sur l'utilisation d'au moins trois diodes à capacité variable. En contrôlant la tension d'un ensemble sélectionné de ces diodes, la rotation de l'onde électrique peut être contrôlée selon un angle choisi. Le documentEP 0285879 décrit un dispositif de jonction à large bande pour séparer des micro-ondes électromagnétiques polarisées orthogonalement et linéairement. Ce dispositif comporte un dispositif de ramification qui subdivise un guide d'ondes véhiculant les deux polarisations orthogonales en deux bras de guides d'ondes rectangulaires de même impédance et dont chacun ne véhicule plus qu'une de ces polarisations. L'adaptation d'impédance est réalisée en jouant sur le dimensionnement du guide d'ondes. Celui-ci est constitué d'un conducteur extérieur comportant une cavité dans laquelle s'étend un conducteur central. - On connaît également du document
un convertisseur coaxial qui reçoit des polarisations orthogonales d'une onde incidente, et des sondes par lesquelles ces polarisations sortent en dehors du convertisseur coaxial.JP 0725480 - Le document
US 6,211,750 décrit un dispositif de réception et de transmission de signaux comprenant un guide d'ondes extérieur, un guide d'ondes central, et des sondes permettant d'exciter des modes électromagnétiques dans la cavité située entre le guide d'ondes extérieur et le guide d'ondes central. - Enfin, le document
décrit une alimentation coaxiale à l'encombrement réduit.JP 11168308 - Le document
US2002/0163401 décrit un coupleur à ultra large bande de jonction à mode orthogonal d'un guide d'onde avec un conducteur central circulaire et des crêtes pour former un conducteur en forme de croix, avec sondes dans lesquelles les différentes polarisations des ondes incidentes sortent du coupleur. - Dans le domaine des antennes radio-fréquences, il est bien connu d'utiliser des coupleurs de jonction à mode orthogonal dits OMJ suivant l'acronyme anglo-saxon « Ortho-Mode Junctions » pour séparer des bandes à double polarisation.
- Pour de très larges bandes de fréquences de fonctionnement, ces coupleurs de jonction à mode orthogonal sont classiquement constitués d'une section d'alimentation du guide d'onde en forme de croix comprenant deux points d'alimentation centraux, un point d'alimentation pour chaque polarisation, placés le long de l'axe du coupleur, lesdits points étant décalés le long de l'axe du coupleur et terminés par des cavités de blindage à l'arrière.
- Ce type de coupleurs coaxiaux présente l'inconvénient d'être encombrant et de procurer une mauvaise isolation entre les deux ports d'entrée des points d'alimentation qui sont proches les uns des autres.
- De plus, ce type de coupleurs présente une asymétrie qui procure une dégradation de la pureté du réseau modal due à l'excitation de modes d'ordre supérieur.
- L'un des buts de l'invention est donc de remédier à tous ces inconvénients en proposant un coupleur à ultra large bande d'OMJ particulièrement compact procurant un faible couplage entre les ports d'entrée ainsi qu'un mono-mode et une excitation bi-polarisée à ultra large bande particulièrement stables.
- Conformément à l'invention, il est proposé un coupleur à ultra large bande de jonction à mode orthogonal d'un guide d'onde à la longueur d'onde λ remarquable en ce qu'il comprend un conducteur dit extérieur comportant une cavité dans laquelle s'étend un conducteur central isolé électriquement aux radio-fréquences avec le conducteur extérieur, ledit conducteur central étant alimenté par des lignes d'alimentation traversant le conducteur extérieur et débouchant dans la cavité du conducteur extérieur.
- Ledit conducteur central présente une section transversale en forme de croix présentant, de préférence, deux axes de symétries orthogonaux.
- Par ailleurs, le coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant l'invention comprend quatre lignes d'alimentation débouchant dans la cavité du conducteur extérieur, chaque ligne d'alimentation étant connecté à une branche du conducteur central en forme de croix.
- De préférence, chaque ligne d'alimentation est connectée à une branche du conducteur central par un contact ohmique.
- Deux branches opposées du conducteur central sont alimentés en signaux de radiofréquence par respectivement deux lignes d'alimentation opposées pour déclencher une polarisation déterminée.
- A cet effet, les lignes d'alimentation sont connectées à un circuit extérieur d'alimentation déterminant la distribution de phase de chaque signal transmis par les lignes d'alimentation.
- Selon une caractéristique essentielle de l'invention, les lignes d'alimentation sont connectées au conducteur central dans un même plan orthogonal à l'axe du conducteur central.
- D'autres avantages et caractéristiques ressortiront mieux de la description qui va suivre, d'une unique variante d'exécution donnée à titre d'exemple non limitatif, du coupleur, en particulier un coupleur coaxial, à ultra large bande de jonction à mode orthogonal conforme à l'invention, à partir des dessins annexés sur lesquels :
- la
figure 1 est une vue en perspective du coupleur coaxial à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention couplé à une antenne cornet, - la
figure 2 est une vue en coupe transversale schématique du coupleur coaxial à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention, - la
figure 3 est une vue en coupe longitudinale schématique du coupleur coaxial à ultra large bande d'OMJ conforme à l'invention. - On décrira ci-après un coupleur à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention afin de séparer des bandes à doubles polarisations orthogonales d'un cornet rayonnant circulaire coaxial ou chargé d'un cône diélectrique ; Toutefois, il est bien évident que le coupleur suivant l'invention pourra être utilisé seul et/ou dans toute autre application bien connue de l'Homme de l'Art.
- En référence à la
figure 1 , le coupleur 1 à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention est porté par un bâti support 2 constitué de deux couronnes, une couronne inférieure 3 et une couronne supérieure 4 reliées par des entretoises 5 en forme de colonnes cylindriques, la couronne supérieure 4 portant une antenne cornet 6. Le bâti support 2 porte par ailleurs un circuit extérieur d'alimentation 7 du coupleur 1 qui sera détaillé un peu plus loin. - Ledit coupleur 1, en référence aux
figures 2 et 3 , comprend un conducteur dit extérieur 8 comportant une cavité 9 dans laquelle s'étend un conducteur central 10 isolé électriquement aux radio-fréquences avec le conducteur extérieur 8. On notera que le conducteur central n'est pas isolé électriquement au courant discontinu. - Le conducteur extérieur 8 consiste en un tube cylindrique présentant une cavité cylindrique coaxiale 9.
- Par ailleurs, le conducteur central 10 présente une section transversale en forme de croix comportant deux axes de symétrie orthogonaux. Ainsi, le conducteur central 10 comporte quatre branches 11, 12, 13 et 14 deux à deux opposées.
- De plus, chaque branche 11, 12, 13 et 14 dudit conducteur central 10 est alimentée par des lignes d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et respectivement 18 traversant le conducteur extérieur 8 par des ports d'entrée 19, 20, 21 et 22 et débouchant dans la cavité 9 du conducteur extérieur 8.
- Chaque ligne d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et 18 est connectée à une branche 11, 12, 13 et respectivement 14 du conducteur central 10 par un contact ohmique 23. Ledit contact ohmique 23 sera obtenu par tout moyen approprié bien connu de l'Homme du Métier.
- De manière particulièrement avantageuse, les lignes d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et 18 sont connectées à chacune des branches 11, 12, 13 et respectivement 14 du conducteur central 10 dans un même plan orthogonal à l'axe longitudinal dudit conducteur central 10.
- Par ailleurs, les lignes d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et 18 sont connectées au circuit extérieur d'alimentation 7 déterminant la distribution de phase de chaque signal transmis par lesdites lignes d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et 18. Ledit circuit d'alimentation 7 alimente deux branches opposées, par exemple les branches 11 et 13, du conducteur central 10 en signaux de radiofréquence par respectivement les deux lignes d'alimentation opposées 15 et respectivement 17 pour déclencher une polarisation déterminée. Par exemple, le circuit d'alimentation 7 alimente les branches 11 et 13 en signaux de radiofréquence présentant les distributions de phase (0,0°) et respectivement (0,180°) pour déclencher une polarisation des branches 11 et 13 telle que schématiquement représentée par des flèches sur la
figure 3 . - On notera que la symétrie électrique du coupleur coaxial à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention procure un mono-mode et une excitation bi-polarisée à ultra large bande stables ainsi qu'un faible couplage entre les ports d'entrée des lignes d'alimentation. Ce faible couplage entre les ports d'entrée permet de s'exonérer d'un circuit de compensation extérieur.
- Par ailleurs, le coupleur coaxial à ultra large bande d'OMJ suivant l'invention est particulièrement compact compte tenu du fait que les lignes d'alimentation 15, 16, 17 et 18 sont connectées à chacune des branches 11, 12, 13 et respectivement 14 du conducteur central 10 dans un même plan orthogonal à l'axe longitudinal dudit conducteur central 10
- Il est bien évident que le coupleur suivant l'invention pourra être obtenu suivant un procédé de fraisage de précision bien connu de l'Homme du Métier ou un procédé de fabrication d'un circuit imprimé multi-couches, ledit circuit imprimé multi-couches étant intégré à l'intérieur d'un guide d'onde, sans pour autant sortir du cadre de l'invention. On observera que, pour un coupleur obtenu suivant un procédé de fabrication de circuit imprimé, les lignes d'alimentation pourront présenter une direction opposée.
Claims (7)
- Coupleur à ultra large bande de jonction à mode orthogonal d'un guide d'onde à la longueur d'onde λ, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend- un conducteur dit extérieur (8) comportant une cavité (9) dans laquelle s'étend un conducteur central (10) isolé électriquement aux radio-fréquences avec le conducteur extérieur (8), ledit conducteur central (10) étant alimenté par des lignes d'alimentation (15,16,17,18) en signaux radio-fréquences traversant le conducteur extérieur (8) et débouchant dans la cavité (9) dudit conducteur extérieur (8), ledit conducteur central (10) présentant une section transversale en forme de croix, et- quatre lignes d'alimentation (15,16,17,18) débouchant dans la cavité (9) du conducteur extérieur (8), chaque ligne d'alimentation (15,16,17,18) étant connectée à une branche (11 ,12,13,14) du conducteur central (10) en forme de croix.
- Coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le conducteur central (10) présente deux axes de symétries orthogonaux.
- Coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 2, caractérisé en ce que chaque ligne d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18) est connectée à une branche (11, 12, 13,14) du conducteur central (10) par un contact ohmique (23).
- Coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 1 ou 3, caractérisé en ce que deux branches (11, 12, 13, 14) opposées du conducteur central (10) sont alimentées en signaux de radiofréquence par respectivement deux lignes d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18) opposées pour déclencher une polarisation déterminée.
- Coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que les lignes d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18) sont connectées au conducteur central (10) dans un même plan.
- Coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que le plan dans lequel s'étendent les connexions des lignes d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18) au conducteur central (10) est orthogonal à l'axe du conducteur central (10).
- Ensemble comprenantun coupleur de jonction à mode orthogonal suivant l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, etun circuit extérieur d'alimentation (7),dans lequel les lignes d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18) sont connectées au circuit extérieur d'alimentation déterminant la distribution de phase de chaque signal transmis par les lignes d'alimentation (15, 16, 17, 18).
