Abstract

Eine Vorrichtung zum Erzeugen eines codierten Stereo-Signals aus einer Multikanal-Darstellung umfasst einen Multikanal-Decodierer (11), der aus wenigstens einem Basiskanal und Parameterinformationen drei oder mehr Multi-Kanäle erzeugt. Die drei oder mehr Multi-Kanäle werden Kopfhörer-Signalverarbeitung (12) unterzogen, um einen uncodierten ersten Stereo-Kanal und einen uncodierten zweiten Stereo-Kanal zu erzeugen, welche dann einem Stereo-Codierer (13) zugeführt werden, um ausgangsseitig eine codierte Stereo-Datei zu erzeugen. Die codierte Stereo-Datei kann jedem geeigneten Wiedergabegerät in Form eines CD-Players oder eines Hardware-Players zugeführt werden, sodass ein Benutzer des Wiedergabegeräts nicht nur einen normalen Stereo-Eindruck erhält, sondern einen Multi-Kanal-Eindruck bekommt.
