Definitions

  • the invention relates to a plug-in device with strain relief comprising a plug-in device housing and a clamping cage with radially movable clamping tongues. Furthermore, it relates to a terminal basket for such a plug-in device.
  • a plug-in device of the type described above is for example from the DE 100 11 341 C2 known.
  • This plug-in device comprises a plug device housing and a clamping cage with an annular support wall and axially extending clamping tongues thereof.
  • the clamping tongues can be pressed radially inwards and thereby press against a guided through the clamping basket cable.
  • the compression of the clamping tongues is achieved by screwing a rotary sleeve to the connector housing, which axially displaces the clamping basket and thereby presses the clamping tongues against conical shoulders of the connector housing.
  • a substantially cylindrical, elastic sealing collar is also arranged loosely or firmly molded in the interior of the clamping basket.
  • the plug-in device described allows the fixing of the clamping cage of the strain relief to a cable by the rotation of a rotary sleeve, wherein the rotary sleeve advantageously does not change its axial position relative to the connector housing. Instead, axial displacements only take place inside the mechanism, where they are protected from external influences. There is therefore no gap of variable width between the rotating sleeve and the plug-in housing, which could contaminate or pinch objects or the fingers of a user. Last but not least, the visual appearance of the plug-in device is improved, since it looks the same externally for each clamping state of the clamping basket or cable diameter.
  • the axially movably mounted body which cooperates with the inner structure of the rotary sleeve, may in particular be the clamping basket itself.
  • the rotary sleeve and the clamping cage no further component is required to achieve the desired clamping effect.
  • the clamping cage is preferably sealed and mounted against rotation on the connector housing.
  • a sealing of the clamping basket relative to the plug-in housing prevents moisture and / or dirt from penetrating into the interior of the plug-in device between these two components.
  • the anti-rotation ensures that the clamping basket can not be dragged by a rotary movement of the rotating sleeve.
  • the rotation can be effected for example by axially extending ribs on the connector housing and / or clamping basket.
  • the outer surfaces of the clamping tongues can interact with the plug-in device housing and / or with the rotary sleeve during an axial displacement movement of the clamping basket.
  • the clamping tongues can become For example, supported over obliquely to the (cable) axis extending contact surfaces on a shoulder of the connector housing and thereby be moved radially in an axial displacement of the clamping basket.
  • the axially movably mounted body which cooperates with the inner structure of the rotary sleeve, may be a separate crimp ring in a second implementation of the invention.
  • the squeezing ring can in turn act on the clamping basket in various ways during its axial movement. In the simplest case, it exerts pressure directly in the radial direction on inclined outer surfaces of the clamping tongues.
  • An advantage of using a separate squeezing ring is that the clamping cage can stand at a fixed axial position, so that there is no relative movement between the clamping cage and cable to be attached.
  • the clamping basket may in particular be formed integrally with the plug device housing, so that a loose part is less required for the strain relief and the transition from terminal basket to plug housing by construction is tight.
  • the clamping basket can also be a separate, attachable to the connector housing part.
  • the connector housing may have a thread or a bayonet approach, on which the clamping cage with a complementary structure can be fastened.
  • a separate clamping basket has the advantage that it can be easily replaced when damaged and that different embodiments of clamping baskets and connector housings can be combined.
  • the inner structure of the rotary sleeve which cooperates with the axially displaceably movably mounted body, may in particular be an internal thread. This can then cooperate with a complementary external thread (in the above embodiments on the clamping cage or pinch ring) to move the associated body axially.
  • the plug-in device may optionally have an elastic sealing sleeve to be arranged in the interior of the clamping basket.
  • the sealing collar is then pressed firmly against the jacket of the cable from all sides, so that nothing can penetrate between the cable and the sealing collar.
  • Said sealing collar is preferably connected in the assembled state of the plug-in device sealingly with the plug device housing and / or with an annular support wall of the clamping basket. In this way, the cable is a total of tightly inserted into the plug-in device or in the terminal box.
  • a sealing connection of the sealing sleeve to the plug device housing or to the support wall of the clamping basket can be done by mechanical pressing, preferably by cohesive connection.
  • the sealing collar can be molded directly onto the corresponding part during production.
  • the rotary sleeve is optionally sealed against the connector housing to protect the internal mechanism of the strain relief from the ingress of dirt and / or moisture.
  • Such a seal is relatively easy to implement, since between rotary sleeve and plug housing only a relative rotation (without axial displacement) is possible.
  • the rotary sleeve may have an insertion funnel for a cable in order to facilitate its threading into the clamping basket and passage to the plug-in device.
  • the invention relates to a clamping basket for the strain relief of a plug-in device, in particular for a plug-in device according to one of the embodiments described above.
  • the clamping basket is intended to have an annular (in cross-section, for example, cylindrical or polygonal) carrier wall with clamping tongues extending axially therefrom. It is characterized in that at least a part of the outer surfaces of the clamping tongues lies on the jacket of a truncated cone whose larger radius is closer to the free ends of the clamping tongues than its smaller radius.
  • the outer sides of the clamping tongues extend obliquely radially outward in relation to the axial direction.
  • An annular body e.g., a shoulder of the connector housing or a crimp ring of the type described above acting on the described exterior surfaces of the clamp basket may cause radially inward compression of the clamp tongues as it moves axially away from the support wall.
  • the clamping tongues are advantageously loaded with respect to the support wall in the axial direction to train - and not compressed as in known clamping baskets in the direction of the support wall.
  • a further part of the outer surfaces of the clamping tongues may lie on the jacket of a second truncated cone whose smaller radius is closer to the free ends of the clamping tongues than its larger radius.
  • a second conical active surface is provided, via which alternatively in a conventional manner (by compression pressure), a compression of the clamping tongues can be effected.
  • the clamping tongues of the clamping basket preferably have a substantially triangular cross section in the radial direction.
  • the clamping tongues obtain a high stability. Especially when grasping very thin cable diameter such stability is advantageous because it prevents bending or twisting to weak terminal tongues.
  • the support wall of the clamping basket may optionally have an internal thread and / or an external thread.
  • the clamping cage can thus be screwed to a plug-in device housing, for example.
  • the thread also cooperate with the internal thread of a rotary sleeve in the above-described plug-in device to move the clamping cage axially.
  • the rotary sleeve 120 has an internal structure which cooperates with the clamp basket 130 so as to move axially when the rotary sleeve 120 is rotated.
  • the inner structure is exemplified as an internal thread 121 which cooperates with an external thread 134 on the support wall 132 of the clamping basket 130.
  • a mechanism is provided, with which the axial displacement of the clamping basket 130 is converted into a radial movement of the clamping tongues 131.
  • This can be achieved by the outer surfaces 133 of the clamping tongues 131 extend obliquely to the axial direction A; by cooperation with an annular shoulder 112 on the connector housing (or alternatively on the rotary sleeve 120), they can then be pressed radially inwardly.
  • an annular shoulder 112 on the connector housing or alternatively on the rotary sleeve 120
  • FIG. 2 shows the specific embodiment of a plug-in device 200 according to the first design principle described above. Of the plug-in device 200, in turn, only the rear end of the housing 210 (usually referred to as "hood") is shown.
  • the connector housing 210 terminates in a cylinder wall 213, which merges at shoulders 212 in a conically widening area.
  • a rotary sleeve 220 is rotatably supported on the cylinder wall 213 about the axis A.
  • the rotary sleeve 220 is fixed by the support on two flanges 211 a and 211 b of the housing 210.
  • the fixation against an upward axial withdrawal movement takes place via latching hooks 222, which can dodge elastically radially outward during assembly of the rotary sleeve 220.
  • an annular seal 261 is provided between the rotary sleeve 220 and the plug housing 210 to prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture into the interior of the mechanism.
  • the rotary sleeve 220 On its inside, the rotary sleeve 220 carries an internal thread 221. Further, a funnel-shaped indentation 224 is provided at the upper end of the rotary sleeve 220, which surrounds said internal thread 221 at a distance. The indentation 224 facilitates the insertion of a cable (not shown).
  • a clamping cage 230 mounted so as to be displaceable in the axial direction but secured against rotation is recognizable by an annular carrier wall 232 (arranged at the top in the figure), from which clamping tongues 231 extend axially downwardly.
  • the support wall 232 has an external thread 234, which engages in the internal thread 221 of the rotary sleeve 220.
  • the clamping cage 230 is thus moved upward in the axial direction or downward depending on the direction of rotation.
  • a ring seal 262 between support wall 232 and the cylinder wall 213 of the connector housing ensures in all axial positions for a seal between these two components.
  • the clamping tongues 231 have a substantially triangular radial cross-section with sliding surfaces 233 extending obliquely to the axis A. These sliding surfaces 233 cooperate with the shoulder 212 of the plug-in housing such that upon an upward axial movement of the clamping basket 230, the clamping tongues 231 extend radially inwards of a cable being carried. Gripping teeth inside at the free end of the clamping tongues 231 can thereby dig into the jacket of such a cable to fix this mechanically well.
  • FIG. 2 an elastic, sleeve-shaped sealing collar 250 can be seen, which is arranged in the interior of the clamping basket 230 and extends substantially from the free end of the clamping tongues 231 to the support wall 232.
  • the upper end of the sealing collar 250 is preferably sealingly connected to the interior of the support wall 232, for example by material bonding by injection molding in a two-component injection molding process.
  • the rotary sleeve has an internal structure such. B. an internal thread 321 which cooperates with a complementary structure (eg., An external thread 341) on the squeezing ring 340 to move the squeezing ring during rotation of the rotary sleeve 320 axially.
  • a complementary structure eg., An external thread 341
  • a radially inwardly directed force can be exerted on the oblique outer surfaces 333 of the clamping tongues 331 of the clamping basket in order to press them against a cable.
  • the radial compression of the clamping tongues 331 may be connected with a compression of the clamping tongues 331 in the direction of the support wall 332 or with a train away from the support wall ( FIG. 3 shows the case of a compression).
  • the second design variant according to FIG. 3 has the advantage that the clamping cage 330 can be fixed relative to the plug-in housing 310. This prevents relative movement between the clamping cage and cable and facilitates a secure seal to the connector housing.
  • FIG. 4 shows a concrete embodiment of the strain relief of a plug-in device 400 according to the general design principle of FIG. 3 ,
  • the connector housing 410 terminates in a cylindrical piece 413. This is provided with an external thread 414, on which the annular support wall 432 of the clamping basket 430 is screwed with a complementary internal thread 434.
  • the clamping basket 430 is fixedly connected to the housing 410 in this way.
  • the clamping tongues 431 of the clamping basket 430 extend away from the plug-in device (in FIG FIG. 4 up).
  • the cross sections of the claws 431 above their articulation points are in turn essentially triangular with two outer surfaces 433 which are inclined with respect to the axial direction A.
  • a rotary sleeve 420 is rotatably mounted at the end of the connector housing 410.
  • the rotary sleeve 420 is supported on a collar 411 of the plug-in device housing 410. At an axial withdrawal movement, it is prevented by latching hooks 422, which engage behind a radially projecting flange 435 of the clamping basket.
  • the rotary sleeve 420 On its inner wall, the rotary sleeve 420 carries an internal thread 421, and the upper end of the rotary sleeve 420 has an indentation as a cable insertion funnel 424.
  • a separate crimp ring 440 is provided with an external thread 441, which engages in the internal thread 421 of the rotary sleeve 420.
  • the axial position of the rotationally secured squeezing ring 440 is therefore changed during a rotation of the rotary sleeve 420.
  • the crimp ring 440 With his inner shoulder the crimp ring 440 abuts an inclined outer surface 433 of the clamping tongues 431, whereby the axial displacement of the crimp ring is converted into a radial change in position of the clamping tongues.
  • a radial upward movement of the crimp ring 440 leads to a compression of the clamping tongues 431.
  • a sleeve-shaped sealing collar 450 can be seen, which is pressed with its in the figure lower end by the clamping basket 430 sealingly against the cylinder wall 413 of the connector housing 410.
  • the upper end of the sealing collar 450 is pressed tightly to the cable sheath after insertion of a cable and tightening the strain relief, whereby the overall transition from cable to connector housing is sealed to the outside.
