Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for processing flat products according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for operating such a device according to claim 14.
- the invention can be used in particular for processing printed products, e.g. for opening folded printed products or for labeling, labeling, application of adhesive, sticking of by-products, grasping, suction of individual products or for welding a continuous web.
- CH 632 719 discloses a device for opening multi-sheet paper products, in which opening elements are articulated via radially outwardly directed, pivotable lever on radially directed extensions of a wheel. The extensions and thus the levers with the processing elements engage gear-like in compartments of a cellular wheel in which the products are located. They rest on the outer part of the product and press it against the compartment wall.
- the levers are pivotable relative to the wheel within a small angular range about a pivot axis extending parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. In this device, however, only a retraction of the processing elements in the front region of the compartments is possible, so that only the remote from the axis of rotation of the feeder, outwardly facing product edge is accessible for processing with this device. Shorter formats can not be edited at all.
- the processing device according to EP-A 0 540 865 is constructed, which serves for adhering inserts to printed products.
- the processing device according to EP-A 1 275 607 likewise serves for sticking inserts to printed products and is constructed similarly to the devices described above.
- the processing elements themselves are pivotally mounted on the pivotable lever. Their pivot position is controlled so that the processing elements are always oriented vertically in the processing area, despite a curved orbit with respect to the products to be bonded, ie parallel to the product orientation between two products immerse. In the rear region of the orbit, the processing elements are pivoted at a constant radial orientation of the lever in a tangentially oriented to the orbit position to deduct the supplements of a supply roll can.
- Other devices that are similar in principle are known from EP-A 0 570 339, EP-A 1 112 861 and EP-A 0 606 550.
- a processing device for welding a material web with two cooperating subassemblies constructed similarly to the devices described above is known from WO-A 00/35757.
- the sub-devices each comprise a processing element, which is attached via a short pivotable lever on a rotatable about a rotation axis spoke.
- the lever is controlled so that its orientation in the room always remains the same, namely perpendicular to the material web to be processed. This allows a vertical action in the processing area.
- the total length of the lever including the machining element is significantly smaller than the length of the spoke.
- the achievable working position of the processing element relative to the product to be processed i. the maximum possible distance of the processing element from the front edge of the product facing the device, depending on which part of the orbit of the processing elements for the products without mechanical hindrance is accessible and which hub relative to the products exporting the processing elements in this freely accessible part of the movement path.
- the stroke or the possible processing position is predetermined by the length of the lever. This is in proportion to the radius of the lever.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a device for processing flat products, which despite a small footprint allows a relatively large stroke and thus a given processing depth.
- the inventive device comprises at least one lever which carries a processing element and by a drive member along a in a
- Movement level lying, closed trajectory is movable.
- the lever is controlled by a perpendicular to the movement plane first
- a lever is a mechanical connection between the processing element and the drive member, by a certain, usually (but not necessarily) constant distance of the processing element to
- the lever can also be an integral part of the
- Swivel axis of the lever can be viewed.
- WO-A 00/35757 is the
- the lever arm leading to the processing element is arranged outside the entire area in the first subarea and completely within the second subarea or only partially within the area enclosed by the movement path in the case of very long levers.
- the at least one lever is inclined at least in the second subregion of the movement path relative to the plane of movement.
- the levers are thus fixed so that their lever arm or at least a part thereof assumes a non-zero angle to the plane of movement.
- the levers may be straight but also cranked, kinked or bent. In a further remote from the first pivot axis range, the lever can also run parallel to the plane of movement again.
- the invention allows the use of levers that are long compared to the smallest radius of curvature of the web or - with multiple levers - to the mutual distance.
- the inclination relative to the plane of movement precludes a mechanical obstruction of the levers or processing elements from one another. With only one lever is advantageously prevented that this grinds on the drive member.
- the levers around the first pivot axis are free, i. 360 °, rotatable to perform the described change of orientation with respect to the trajectory during one revolution along the trajectory.
- the inclination allows a synchronous rotation about the first pivot axis without mutual mechanical interference.
- the levers and thus the processing elements are oriented outwards with respect to the movement path.
- This subarea or sections thereof can be used as a processing area for processing products which are conveyed past the device, preferably at approximately the same conveying speed and conveying direction such as the (instantaneous) direction of movement and speed of the processing elements.
- the second subregion of the movement path serves for space-saving return of the processing elements into the processing area.
- Movement plane corresponds to the second part of the path of movement substantially only that area which is enclosed by the trajectory.
- the levers and processing elements protrude above them
- the drive member comprises a rigid body rotatable about a rotation axis, preferably a wheel or at least one spoke.
- a rotation axis preferably a wheel or at least one spoke.
- this at least one lever at a constant distance from the axis of rotation is pivotable, preferably rotatable by 360 °, connected, in particular in the remote from the axis of rotation outer edge region of the body.
- the trajectory of the first pivot axes is therefore a circle. If the orientation of the levers in the room does not change, the processing elements also describe a circular path with the same radius. If the lever length corresponds to this radius or larger, the machining elements are freely accessible at least over half of the trajectory and thereby carry out a stroke that corresponds to the radius and at full release maximum the diameter of the trajectory.
- the invention can be used with advantage also in other types of drives, in particular in connection with a rail-guided conveyor system.
- the processing elements are in this case for example coupled via the levers with transport means, which are movable individually or in combination by coupling with a suitable drive member along guide rails or otherwise along a defined path of movement.
- transport means which are movable individually or in combination by coupling with a suitable drive member along guide rails or otherwise along a defined path of movement.
- the inventive device is particularly preferably used for opening folded printed products.
- opening it is often desired that the opening element be pushed deep into the machine, e.g. in pockets or conveyor compartments for the folded product, intervenes, for example, to edit even smaller formats.
- the processing element is preferably a ⁇ ffhungsatt.
- processing elements are, for example, gripping or suction organs for transporting a by-product to be added to the printed product, for example by inserting and / or gluing.
- the processing element can also comprise a welding element for welding a protective film or a spray nozzle, which can serve, for example, for applying ink or glue.
- the device can also be used for merely conveying a flat product with a gripper or teat without additional processing.
- the levers may be pivotable about a further second pivot axis, which lies in or parallel to the plane of movement.
- this additionally allows a movement of the processing element perpendicular to the plane of movement to be achieved, for example, to pierce the product from the side by pivoting the lever into the plane of movement.
- the levers are swung out of the plane of movement again in order to be able to move them along the trajectory without mutual mechanical obstruction.
- the levers with the processing elements can also be mounted on both sides of two wheels or other supporting organs. This ensures that the processing elements can have a certain extent perpendicular to the plane of movement and yet stably stored and supported.
- the processing elements may include, for example, perpendicular to the plane of movement oriented support beams.
- the orientation of the levers relative to the path of movement and optionally the pivoting position relative to the plane of movement is preferably controlled by a respective control cam which is connected to the levers, e.g. arranged on rollers, cooperates.
- the control link can act on the levers over the entire movement path or only in sections thereof.
- the desired orientation and / or pivot position may be e.g. be gravity assisted in non-controlled portions of the trajectory and / or spring biased.
- Figures 1 and 2 is a schematic diagram of an inventive device with a wheel as a drive in view of the plane of movement and in section perpendicular to the plane of movement.
- Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of another inventive device with a rotating conveyor member as a drive in view of the
- an inventive opening device with a wheel as a drive in view of the plane of movement and in section perpendicular to the plane of movement;
- FIGS. 8 and 9 are detail views of a two axes pivotable lever of another inventive ⁇ ffhungsvorraum.
- Levers 10 connected to machining elements 20 are moved along a closed trajectory B.
- the levers 10 are pivotable about first pivot axes Sl or even 360 ° rotatably coupled to a drive member 1.
- This is formed in Fig. 1 and 2 by a rigid body in the form of a wheel 2, with which the levers are pivotally connected at a distance R about the pivot axis Sl.
- the wheel 2 is rotatable about a rotation axis D with a motor, not shown here.
- the drive member 1 is a conveying member 2 ', for example a chain or a belt, for example, along only schematically indicated guide rails 3, is deflected by two pulleys and also moved with a motor, not shown here.
- the first pivot axes Sl a a wise with each other a constant distance.
- FIG. 1 With solid lines are shown in Fig. 1, the lever at a time and dashed to another time.
- Fig. 3 shows only a snapshot.
- the movement path of the first pivot axis Sl can be considered. It is circular in Fig. 1 with a radius R.
- the trajectory B includes two straight and two semi-circular sections, the latter also with a radius R.
- the trajectory B 'of the processing element 20 is offset. If the orientation of the levers 10 in the space when moving along the trajectory B remains the same as in Fig. 3, the trajectory B 'of the processing element 20 has substantially the same shape as the trajectory B of the lever 10. If the orientation in the room slightly changes in Fig. 1, and the movement path B 'of the machining element 20 is compared to the lever 10 is deformed.
- the trajectory B of the lever 10 is located in a plane of movement E, which here coincides with the plane of the drawing and is preferably oriented vertically.
- the levers 10, as shown in FIG. 2 are inclined out of this plane E and have, for example, an angle ⁇ of 10 to 80 °, preferably 20 to 60 °, for this purpose.
- the processing element 20 may also have this inclination or be bent relative to the lever 10 (shown in dashed lines in Fig. 2).
- the orientation of the lever 10 relative to its trajectory B is controllable by means of a link control.
- This consists here of two control blocks 4, 6.
- the control slots 4, 6 run along the entire movement path B, but it is also possible that the orientation of the lever 10 is controlled only over a part of the movement path B.
- conveying direction F runs tangentially or parallel to the lower part of trajectory B in FIGS. 1 and 3 in the horizontal direction
- Conveyor 40 here comprises a plurality of support surfaces 42, e.g.
- FIG. 1 A conveyor pocket with a folded and already opened product 30 disposed therein is shown in FIG.
- the pivotal position of the levers 10 is controlled relatively 2x1 of their trajectory B such that the levers 10 are oriented outwardly in a first partial area B1 of the trajectory B and inward in a second partial area B2 of the trajectory B relative thereto, e.g. in Fig. 1 away from the axis of rotation D or to the axis of rotation D.
- the processing area 50 is located here in the first partial area B1.
- the described control of the swivel position ensures that the levers 10 are in the processing area 50 to the products 30, but do not protrude outwardly during their return through the second portion B2, but are space-saving traced by sweeping the enclosed trajectory B surface ,
- the inclination of the lever 10 relative to the plane of movement E allows the levers 10 to still be relatively long.
- Relatively long means here that the lever length L measured between the first pivot axis S1 and the machining element 20 can be greater than the distance a of the levers 10 or of the first pivot axes S1 from one another.
- the upper limit for the stroke of the machining element 20 is given by the distance between the upper and lower part of the movement path B, in this case 2R. This maximum stroke can be exploited if the length L of the lever 10 is greater than or equal to 2R.
- the invention makes it possible to use such long levers 10 without increasing the space requirement of the device outside of the processing area 50.
- the necessary stroke can be generated in a relatively small spatial area, viewed in the conveying direction F, whose width corresponds approximately to the width of the wheel 2. If a longer processing time is desired, a construction as shown in Fig. 3 is preferably used.
- FIG. 4 shows how a processing element 20 engages deep into a pocket formed from two support walls 42, 42 'which are arranged at an angle to one another in order to machine a folded and already opened product 30. It is possible to work at a distance d from the front edge 31 of the product 30, which is greater than the previous achievable distances.
- the optimal immersion depth for processing can be realized by the distance of the wheel 2 to the conveyor 40 and to the support walls 42, 42 'and / or the lever length L is suitably selected.
- the shape of the wheel 2 has an influence on the achievable immersion depth.
- Figures 5 and 6 show a folded product opening device 30 having the same basic structure as the device of Figures 1 and 2.
- Fig. 5 shows a section perpendicular to the plane of movement E
- Fig. 6 is a plan view of the plane of motion E.
- a drive member is again a wheel 2, on which a plurality of five levers 10 here by at a distance R from the axis of rotation D extending first pivot axes Sl are arranged pivotably or rotatably.
- the axes Sl have here and at the same distance a from each other.
- the distances a can be varied in a variant of the invention, not shown here, when the levers 10 are arranged at about the rotation axis D rotatable individual spokes or other suitable support elements.
- the processing elements 20 are presently designed as ⁇ ffhungs institute and include a ⁇ ffhungsatt 22 and optionally a spacer 24.
- the spacer 24 has in the conveying direction F and abuts the support surface 42 during processing. This ensures that the opening blade at a well-defined distance b (see Fig. 7) from the support surface 42 between the sides of the product 30 enter.
- a displacement of product 30 and / or ⁇ fmungsatt 22 in the transverse direction Q relative to the conveying direction F Fig. 5
- the product 30 is displaced, for example, with a slider, not shown here, relative to the support surfaces 42.
- a distance corresponding to the radius R can be run into the conveyor compartments and a corresponding immersion depth can be realized.
- Air is blown into the product 30 to be opened via the opening blades 22 in order to facilitate the opening process.
- the designated Blas Kunststoffzu arrangement 60 consisting of several along the axis of rotation D, through the wheel 2 and through the lever 10 extending bores 61, 62, 63 are shown.
- ink or glue could also be brought to the processing location.
- FIG. 7 shows a detailed view of an opening element when engaging a product 30 in a top view of a product 30 being conveyed in a vertical position.
- the opening is effected by displacing the support surface 42 or the product 30 in the transverse direction Q and / or by displacing the opening element into the opposite one Direction Q '.
- a precisely defined distance b between the front edge of the opening blade 22 and the support surface 42 is adjustable.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 show an example of how, in the case of a device according to FIGS. 5 and 6, a lateral retraction of the opening element in the opposite direction Q 'into the product 30 can be realized with the product 30 fixed in the transverse direction Q, ie not displaced transversely.
- the levers 10 are constructed in two parts with a first lever part 10 'which is rotatable about the first pivot axis S1 and a second lever part 10 "pivotally connected thereto about a second pivot axis S2.
- the second pivot axis S2 lies parallel to the plane of movement E and is perpendicular to the first pivot axis
- a guide element 71 is connected to the second lever part 10 ".
- the first lever member 10 ' is present parallel to the plane of movement E 5 in or could, however, also be oriented differently. This determines the Pivot position of the second lever part 10 "about the second pivot axis S2, the inclination angle ⁇ of the lever 10 relative to the movement plane E.
- This inclination angle a can be varied with the control link 72, in particular reduced in size, by the opening element 20 in the machining area 50 to introduce movement in the direction Q 'laterally into the product 30. Outside the processing area 50, the original angle is assumed again in order to be able to return the levers 10 without mutual mechanical obstruction outside the plane of movement E.
- the control link 72 can run along the entire movement path B or only in partial areas thereof. At least in the latter case, a basic position of the lever parts 10 ', 10 "relative to each other and thus the angle ⁇ is preset, for example, with a spring 73 and is changed only under the influence of the control link 72.
