  • locking means 10 and, where present, also fastening means 226, must be re-tightened fixing the position of door plug 5, 225 with respect to frame portion 1, 221, the latter being still in its initial position, i.e. the position it had before door reversing operations were started.
  • the door assembly must be rotated 180° about axis X from said initial position and the hinge 3 must be re-attached to the machine 19. In this way opening of the door will result inverted.
  • a user can also first release connecting means 10, 226, and 180° rotating door plug 5, 225 relative to frame portion 1, 221 in the manner described above while hinge 3 remains attached to the machine 19 and to the frame portion 1, 221, i.e. while the door assembly is still mounted on the laundry treating machine 19.
  • hinge 3 may be detached only from the machine 19 and kept fixed onto the frame portion 1, 221 and finally, i.e. after having 180° rotated the whole door assembly from its initial position, hinge 3 may be re-attached to said machine 19 in a position which is opposite to that it had before door reversing operations were started.
  • the support 27 comprising hole 20 where lock 4 is received when door assembly is in a closed position, must be moved to a position corresponding to the reversed position assumed by lock 4 after having completed the reversing operation of the door assembly.
  • a door assembly according to the invention is very easy to be reversed so as to change from a left hand to right hand hinge. In this way, even an unskilled user can adapt the door opening direction according to the place where the front loading appliance has to be put thereby allowing the user to take into account the presence of further furniture articles or further appliances close to the front loading machine.

Claims (14)

  1. Ensemble porte réversible pour une machine de traitement du linge à chargement frontal (19) comprenant une partie cadre (1, 221) s'étendant autour d'un axe X, un obturateur de porte (5, 225) ayant une forme asymétrique par rapport audit axe X, une charnière (3) et un verrou (4), caractérisé par le fait que chacun de ladite charnière (3), dudit verrou (4) et dudit obturateur de porte (5, 225) est monté uniquement sur une telle partie cadre (1, 221) de telle sorte qu'ils peuvent être retirés de l'ensemble porte indépendamment les uns des autres.
  2. Ensemble porte réversible selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225) est associé de façon coulissante à ladite partie cadre (1) et des moyens de verrouillage (10) sont disposés pour fixer de manière libérable une position relative entre ladite partie cadre (1, 221) et ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225).
  3. Ensemble porte selon la revendication 2, dans lequel des moyens de guidage (6) sont disposés sur ladite partie cadre (1, 221) et ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225).
  4. Ensemble porte selon la revendication 3, dans lequel lesdits moyens de guidage (6) comprennent au moins une nervure (8) et au moins un canal (9) apte à recevoir ladite au moins une nervure (8) à l'intérieur de celui-ci.
  5. Ensemble porte réversible selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225) est fixé de façon amovible à ladite partie cadre (1, 221) par des moyens de fixation libérables (226).
  6. Ensemble porte réversible selon la revendication 5, dans lequel lesdits moyens de fixation libérables (226) sont des vis.
  7. Ensemble porte selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, comprenant en outre un couvercle (13) associé à la partie cadre (1, 221), ledit couvercle (13) étant muni d'une poignée (17).
  8. Ensemble porte selon la revendication 7, dans lequel ledit couvercle (13) et ladite partie cadre (1, 221) sont faits d'un seul tenant.
  9. Ensemble porte selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225) est fait, au moins en partie, dans un matériau transparent.
  10. Ensemble porte selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit obturateur de porte (5, 225) comprend au moins un conduit d'air.
  11. Machine de traitement du linge à chargement frontal (19) comprenant un ensemble porte réversible tel que défini à l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10.
  12. Procédé pour monter de façon réversible, sur une machine de traitement du linge à chargement frontal (19), un ensemble porte comprenant une partie cadre (1, 221) s'étendant autour d'un axe X, une charnière (3) montée sur ladite partie cadre (1, 221) et un obturateur de porte (5, 225) ayant une forme asymétrique par rapport audit axe X, des moyens de liaison (10, 226) étant disposés pour fixer de façon libérable une position relative entre ladite partie cadre (1) et ledit obturateur de porte (5), caractérisé par le fait qu'il comprend les étapes suivantes : (a) retrait de l'ensemble porte, au niveau de la charnière (3), de ladite machine (19) ; (b) libération desdits moyens de liaison (10, 226) ; (c) rotation dudit obturateur de porte (5, 225) de 180° autour de l'axe X par rapport à la partie cadre (1, 221) ; (d) resserrage des moyens de liaison (10, 226) ; (e) rotation de l'ensemble porte de 180° autour de l'axe X à partir d'une position initiale ; (f) re-fixation de la charnière (3) à ladite machine (19).
  13. Procédé selon la revendication 12, dans lequel l'étape (a) est réalisée par libération de moyens de fixation (14a, 14b) associant la charnière (3) sur la machine (19) et l'étape (c) est réalisée en maintenant la charnière (3) attachée à la partie cadre (1, 221).
  14. Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 12 à 14, dans lequel l'étape (c) est réalisée par coulissement de l'obturateur de porte (5, 225) par rapport à la partie cadre (1, 221).
