Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for time display, in particular a wristwatch, comprising a plurality of gemstones and a plurality of arranged on a support lighting elements over which the gems for realizing a time display are selectively illuminated and / or transilluminable.
  • the DE 10 2004 058 245 and the WO 2006/136587 disclose both wristwatches, in which on the surface of the wristwatch gemstones are incorporated in the wristwatch, among some of these gemstones LEDs are arranged to realize a time display.
  • both of these writings turns out to be disadvantageous that the gems are integrated directly into the outside of the wristwatch, for example by gluing.
  • this makes the installation of the gems consuming and the manufacturing accuracy of the outer surface of the clock high demands are made.
  • the connection of gemstones with the wristwatch only of insufficient support or a sufficiently strong connection of the gemstones with the wristwatch only with great technical effort is possible.
  • Lighting elements are easy to assemble and with simple means a firm connection between the time indicator and the gemstones is possible
  • each gemstone is held by its own version, which in turn protrudes from the carrier, an assembly of the device for time display with the gemstones is easy to carry out, especially because the sockets protrude from the support surface.
  • the support surface may be part of the outer surface of the clock or else be arranged below the outer surface, which faces the viewer.
  • the gems each have their own version, the connection between gemstone and the device for time display to realize particularly simple, but the connection thus obtained is still extremely stable executable.
  • a control device which controls the lighting elements, wherein the lighting elements selectively illuminate the gemstones and additionally or alternatively through the gemstones.
  • a time display can be realized with the aid of a plurality of such illuminated and / or illuminated gemstones, for example by the respective active lighting elements represent the time in alphanumeric characters or by the active lighting elements an analog hour and minute hands and possibly a second hand is imitated.
  • a combination of both as well as a date display and further features known in watches are possible.
  • For power supply of the device according to the invention for time display is also resorted to known means such as accumulators or batteries. These accumulators can be rechargeable batteries, capacitors, inductively rechargeable batteries or the like.
  • the sockets are substantially cylindrical, wherein in an end facing the viewer of the Frames, that is held by or on the edge of these versions, the gemstones.
  • the versions can be sleeve-shaped or else designed as a solid body with defined light paths. Since symmetrical gems are preferably used, cylindrical frames are particularly advantageous because of their rotational symmetry.
  • the edge of such a version is crimped and the gems are held by this beaded edge.
  • the adhesive are customary, used for connections between gemstones and metal adhesives.
  • the gems are held by the versions on that side of the socket, which faces the viewer when he reads the time, so for example on the outside of a wristwatch.
  • the other end of the socket can be directly connected to the carrier. It may be provided that the sockets are glued to the carrier. But other connection means and connection techniques known per se in the prior art are possible for the connection between the carrier and the sockets.
  • the essential components are small and compact.
  • Such light-emitting diodes are characterized by their low space requirement, their low heat development, their low energy consumption and their long shelf life.
  • the brightness and color of the light emitted by the light emitting diodes are easily regulated and controlled.
  • the, preferably designed as light-emitting diodes, lighting elements are arranged in several of the sockets. This makes it possible that the gems are illuminated directly from under (ie in the direction of the carrier) them arranged lighting elements and little light is lost by lateral radiation. It can also be provided to make the inner surfaces of the sockets particularly reflective, for example by means of a coating, so that even light is absorbed by the sockets themselves.
  • a plurality of such lighting elements and gems is used for a device according to the invention for time display.
  • inexpensive producible gemstones which are still shapely to use.
  • artificial or natural glass stones which have a particularly attractive appearance when they have, preferably faceted, ground surfaces, are also predestined.
  • other natural or synthetic semi-precious stones or gemstones although this is associated with considerably increased material costs.
  • the shape, shape and size of the gems is in principle arbitrary and depends on the type and size of the device for displaying time.
  • the carrier on which wetchem the sockets protruding from it are arranged, at least in sections one, preferably convex, forms a curved surface. This allows the wearer to snugly fit the user's arm. It can also be provided that the carrier is not quite rigid, but at least has a certain flexibility.
  • this, preferably convex, curvature can relate only to the essential parts of the support surface, as in such a carrier always also devices for fixing, for example, the bracelet or the watch case are needed, which can stand in the way of such a curvature.
  • a longitudinal axis of the sockets is arranged locally substantially perpendicular to the carrier or the surfaces of the carrier and therefore also the tips or the plates of the gems define an envelope having a, preferably convex, curvature.
  • a longitudinal axis for example in the case of cylindrical sockets, is that axis of the cylinder which defines the axis of symmetry with respect to rotation. In other rotationally symmetrical versions, the symmetry axis can also be understood as such.
  • the gems are at least partially arranged in rows and columns, resulting in a shapely, the viewer facing the outside of the device for time display.
  • these can realize an alphanumeric representation of the time display particularly well.
  • the display between these two types of representation changes or is switchable
  • a control device is implemented in the device for time display, which can on the one hand selectively control the lighting elements and on the other hand switch between different types of representation and possibly brightness and control the color of the emitted light.
  • the distances between two adjacent sockets ie the gap between two adjacent sockets essentially corresponds to the diameter of a socket. In the event that not all versions are the same or the versions are not are symmetrical, it may be an average diameter.
  • the space between adjacent sockets is intended as that space between two sockets along the line connecting their centers.
  • the sockets and the gemstones held by them are provided as a separate component.
  • the sockets and the gems can be arranged in a particularly cost-effective and simple manner in the time display device.
  • the invention further relates to a method for producing a device for time display as stated above, wherein the gems are attached to the sockets and then these versions are mounted with the gemstones on the carrier. It can be provided that the versions with the gemstones are individually mounted on the carrier or the gemstones are first mounted on the sockets and the sockets are then mounted together on the carrier.
  • Fig. 1a to 1c is designed as a wristwatch 1 embodiment of the device according to the invention shown for time display, being omitted for reasons of clarity on the representation of the bracelet itself.
  • Fig. 1a is a top view of the top of the watch watch.
  • a plurality of gemstones 3 are arranged in regular rows and columns on the watch case 2.
  • lighting elements in the form of light emitting diodes 7 are arranged to realize a time display. It is provided that light from these light emitting diodes 7 passes through those gems 3, which are arranged above the light emitting diodes 7.
  • the time can be represented, for example, by means of alphanumeric characters.
  • Fig. 1 b It can be provided that the bottom of the watch case 2 is at least partially transparent, which insights into the electronics of the wristwatch 1 are made possible.
  • Fig. 1c Finally, a side view of the wristwatch 1, where in turn the adjusting knob and projecting over the surface of the watch case 2 gemstones 3 are recognizable.
  • FIGS. 2a and 2c shows a perspective view once from above and once below the wristwatch according to the invention 1. It can be seen that arranged in rows and columns gemstones 3 on its outer side each have a panel that define a total of an enveloping surface having a convex curvature. This makes it possible for the wristwatch 1 to conform to the arm of a wearer of this wristwatch 1. It may further be provided that the watch case 2 is flexible at least to some extent. Because of this mentioned curvature, it is advantageous that the surface of the carrier 16, on which the sockets 5 of the gems 3 are arranged, is itself convexly curved. Due to the large number of arranged gemstones 3, it may also be possible that several features at the same time, for example, time and date display, are displayed on the wristwatch 1.
  • Fig. 3 shows a sectional view along the circumferential direction of the wristwatch 1 between two columns of gemstones 3.
  • the watch case 2 itself is fastened by means of two devices on the bracelet.
  • a control unit is arranged, which in addition to the control of the LEDs 7 also for receiving the means for power supply, so for example a battery or one or more batteries used. Also a responsible for the time signal clock, such as a quartz crystal can be accommodated here.
  • a plurality of cylindrical sockets 5 are arranged, which protrude beyond the surface of the carrier 16, so projecting from the carrier 16 and hold the gems 3 on the opposite side of the carrier 16.
  • Each gemstone 3 is held by its own version 5.
  • the LEDs 7 and other control devices are provided with a reference numeral. The same applies to the LEDs 7 and other control devices.
  • light emitting diodes 7 are arranged under some of the gems, the light emitted by them can pass through the gems arranged above them 3 and thereby realize a time display. Further control devices are in turn arranged under some of the LEDs 7, wherein a printed circuit board 8 can be arranged therebetween. These are used to control the time display by the LEDs 7 are selectively controlled, and optionally to control the brightness or color of the light emitted from the LEDs 7 light.
  • a printed circuit board 8 is arranged between the control devices and the light-emitting diodes 7.
  • the LEDs 7 are mounted directly on the circuit board 8, for example by soldering.
  • this circuit board 8 is curved itself. In a region 9 of the printed circuit board 8, this is folded, whereby the electrical connection with the control devices is facilitated.
  • Fig. 4 shows a further sectional view of the wristwatch 1, wherein the cutting line parallel but laterally offset to that in Fig. 3 is.
  • this sectional view is cut through a column of gems 3, so that the interior of the sockets 5 is shown.
  • the cylindrical sockets 5 are hollow inside, so sleeve-shaped. The light emitted by the light-emitting diodes 7 arranged under some of the gems 3 strikes the gemstones 3 directly and illuminates them. It can also be seen that the sockets 5 are held on the carrier 16 by connecting elements.
  • the sockets 5 are clamped by means of these fasteners to the carrier 16 or other common Metalltellsart be used.
  • the inner surface of the cylindrical sockets 5 may be coated with a reflective layer, so that a particularly high proportion of the light emitted by the light emitting diodes 7 passes through the respective gemstone 3. It can also be seen that the longitudinal axis 18 of the cylindrical sockets 5 is locally perpendicular to the curved surfaces of the carrier 16.
  • Fig. 5a shows how in an advantageous embodiment of the invention, in this case faceted ground gemstone 3 is held by its own cylindrical socket 5.
  • a light-emitting diode 7 is arranged below this gemstone 3, which is in communication with the curved printed circuit board 8.
  • the cylindrical version 5 stands from the carrier 16, wherein the protruding end of the socket 5 has a beaded edge 13 through which the gemstone 3 is held by the socket 5.
  • the longitudinal axis 18 of the cylindrical frame 5 is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the carrier 16.
  • FIG. 5b shows a further embodiment of the invention.
  • the gemstone 3 is glued by means of an adhesive layer 14 to the socket 5 and is thereby held by the socket 5.
  • Conventional types of adhesives used to bond metal and gemstone are used.
  • Fig. 6 shows a schematic representation of the entire control device of the wristwatch 1 and serving to realize the time display LEDs 7.
  • the control device comprises a curved circuit board 8, which is a folded Area 9 and which is used for electrical connection of the LEDs 7, which are mounted on the curved circuit board 8.
  • the control devices are also applied directly to the printed circuit board 8.
  • the circuit board 8 can be equipped in a planar state with the LEDs 7 and the control device to assume the curved and / or folded shape only in the mounted state.
  • the time display is realized by each of some of the LEDs 7 are selectively driven to emit light.
  • the means for timing the time so for example a quartz crystal, arranged.
  • a date display can be controlled, as well as color and brightness of the light emitted by the LEDs 7 light. Also other well-known features that are possible with digital clocks can be implemented.
  • Fig. 7 shows the principle of the time display by means of LEDs 7.
  • a plurality of light-emitting diodes 7 are arranged on a circuit board, which is just formed here.
  • the total number of light emitting diodes 7 is used to implement an alphanumeric time display, each individual one of the light emitting diodes 7 emit light and thereby represent the respective time.
  • time display device is not limited to the exemplary embodiments shown in the figures or in the description, nor should they be restricted by them.
  • the invention may have both only one type of gems in terms of shape and / or material as well as a plurality of different types of gems, be constructed as homogeneous or heterogeneous. Also, not all gemstones must be the same in the versions, although this is preferred.
