Definitions
- the invention relates to a household appliance, in particular a dryer for drying textiles.
- Dryers dry the wet or wet fabrics introduced into a drying room, such as a drum, by supplying warm air into the drying room.
- the warm air absorbs the moisture from the textiles.
- the thus saturated with moisture exhaust air is supplied depending on the structure of the dryer a heat exchanger or discharged to the environment.
- the warm, humid air is cooled and releases the moisture in the form of water into a collection basin.
- the now dry, cool air is heated, thus ensuring a better moisture absorption in the drying room.
- This dry, warm air is in turn fed to the drying room.
- an air filter element also known as a lint filter
- a lint filter is typically arranged between the drying space and the heat exchanger for separating particles from the air stream in general and from textile fluff in particular.
- the dry, warm air absorbs not only as desired the moisture of the textiles to be dried but also textile particles such as lint or other deposits of dry matter due to the mechanical stress of the textiles by the air flow, the drum rotation, etc ..
- Filter element can structures of the subsequent heat exchanger be soiled by such particles.
- a filter element can also be used with the intention of reducing the pollution of the environment with particles.
- a band-shaped filter element is clamped in the form of a circulating belt on two rollers.
- WO 2007/057260 A1 meets the air to be cleaned frontally on a front portion of the circulating belt, flows through this, strikes the rear portion of the circulating belt, and exits through this again, so that the air flow through the entire filter device straight.
- document EP 0 821 990 A1 shows a circulation filter having a housing with an air outlet transverse to the axes of the rollers.
- the circulation filter is cleaned with a suction device.
- document DE 855 651 C shows a dust filter with two parallel circulation filter belts.
- the intended filter device contains a filter element which is designed as a circulating belt and is held by at least two rollers.
- the circulating belt and rollers define an interior space.
- means are now provided which guide the air flow along a path, wherein the path through the filter element and through an opening of the Interior extends, which opening extends transversely to axes of the rollers.
- an air flow first pass through the filter element into the interior, and exit through the opening of the filter device.
- the filtered air flow exits laterally from the filter device, whereas it has entered the filter device typically perpendicular thereto or else possibly also at an angle of less than 90 degrees through the front section of the filter element.
- the front section is that section of the circulating belt to which the air flow to be cleaned first strikes.
- the cleaning device is arranged to the outside of the band-shaped filter element.
- the cleaning device is preferably arranged in the interior.
- the provided means typically cause a change in direction of the air flow in the interior of the filter device. It is advantageous not only that possibly voluminous components outside the filter device for air deflection are superfluous. It is particularly advantageous that lint, which are not covered by the cleaning device and adhere to the filter element, can not be detected by the exiting air flow, since the air flow does not happen twice the filter element designed as a circulating belt. In this respect, the filter element can be spooled back and forth as desired for cleaning: The filter surface with any lint adhering even after cleaning does not cross the air flow again and is not temporarily transported to an area that the air flow later passes.
- filter surface or "effective filter surface” in the present application is that surface of the filter element which is equipped with filter material.
- a filter material for example, serve a wire or plastic mesh whose mesh size is adapted to the size of the particles to be deposited.
- Other air filters such as air filters made of porous filter material, can also be used.
- filter element in the present application refers to the element which contains the filter material for filtering the supplied air.
- the entire “filter element” is made of filter material.
- the filter element has the form of a circulating belt, for example, the circulating belt can consist entirely of filter material. But it can also be provided holding structures for the filter material. But also included is an embodiment in which only a partial surface of such a filter band is formed as an effective filter surface.
- a first section of the circulating belt has filter material
- a second section of the circulating belt has an opening and in this section, for example, only edge-side guides delimit the opening.
- the second section of the filter element can also have a coarse-meshed structure which does not correspond to the term of the filter material insofar as it has no mesh size sufficient for the particle size to be filtered.
- the second section of the filter element also made of airtight material and thus serve as an air guide means.
- Such sections are preferably sections along the longitudinal extent of the filter belt, ie along the direction perpendicular to the axes of the rollers.
- a “cleaning device” is used to clean the filter element.
- the cleaning device may preferably be designed as a scraper, which is guided with a brush or a wiper lip made of rubber over the filter element and thereby abrading particles present there.
- the cleaning device may alternatively or in addition to a scraper air cleaner, water purifier, or have other cleaning agents.
- a stripping holder can hold a hose provided with nozzles, whose nozzles are directed onto the inner surface of the filter element and which hose is subjected to compressed air for cleaning.
- a hose is then arranged at least slightly spaced from the filter element.
- the hose instead of compressed air and a cleaning liquid, such as water, are supplied under pressure.
- the cleaning process is preferably carried out automatically, by passing the cleaning device to the filter element or the filter element is guided past the cleaning device.
- the filter element or the cleaning device is slidably mounted.
- An automatic drive for example an electric motor drive, may be provided for the filter element and / or the cleaning device.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through a schematic filter device 3 according to an embodiment of the invention.
- a housing 6 of a dryer in this case contains in its device foot 7, the filter device 3, wherein the device foot 7 serves to park the clothes dryer on the ground.
- the filter device 3 includes a substantially cuboidal housing 36 whose edge lengths a, b and c in the Figures 1 and 2 are defined. Inside the housing 36, a band-shaped filter element 31 is held as an endless circulating belt of two rollers 35 and clamped around them. Axes 351 of the rollers 35 protrude into the plane of the drawing. An internal space defined by the filter element 31 and the rollers 35 is indicated by the reference numeral 30. Arrows guided from top to bottom indicate an air flow which is fed to the filter device 3.
- An air inlet 362 on the housing 36 in the form of an opening in the upper housing wall allows the air flow to a front portion 311 of the filter element 31.
- the front portion 311 of the filter element 31 contains filter material and frees the flowing air flow of particles.
- the entire filter element 31 is equipped with filter material, so that by pressing at least one of the rollers 35, the filter element 31 can be rewound, as a result, an initially rear portion 312 of the filter element 31 can act as a front portion 311 and the filtering of the supplied Airflow takes over.
- the rear portion 312 of the filter element 31 is according to FIG. 1 on a support 361 on.
- the support 361 serves for stabilization and prevents a vertical deflection of the rear portion 312 down.
- the support 361 may additionally have laterally projecting webs which limit a deflection of the filter element 31 to the side.
- the support 361 is impermeable to air and, together with other housing components such as the housing walls, serves as means for directing the flow of air out of the interior 30 in a direction defined by the axes 351 of the rollers 35 in the present embodiment FIG. 1 ie into the plane of the drawing as indicated by double circles.
- an air flow enters the filter device 3 through the air inlet 362, hits perpendicular to the front portion 311 of the air-permeable filter element 31 and flows through this, in effect perpendicular to the rear portion 312 of the filter element 31 and can not flow through this, since the rearward portion 312 is pressed against the air-impermeable support 361.
- the support 361, further housing walls of the filter device and the arrangement of an air outlet in a rear housing wall force a change in direction of the air flow by about 90 degrees and an air outlet from the filter device 3 without flowing through the rear portion 312 of the filter element 31.
- the exiting air flow is in the plan view in FIG. 2 indicated by arrows.
- the filtered air stream is fed to a heat exchanger 4 after passing through the filter device 3. Further arranged in the device base 7 components of the tumble dryer are in the interests of clarity in the Figures 1 and 2 not illustrated.
- the support 361 can also be arranged in the interior 30, so that the air flow passing through the front section 311 of the filter element 31 directly strikes the support 361 and is deflected by it.
- a tubular component 301 is arranged in the interior space 30 for conducting the air between the opening of the interior 30 and the filter element 31.
- Such an exemplary component 301 is shown in FIG FIG. 1 dotted on average in the interior 30 located.
- the component 301 preferably includes a funnel-shaped portion that receives the air passing through the first portion 311 of the filter element 31.
- a channel section adjoining the funnel-shaped section guides the so accommodated Air through the rear lying in the plane of the plane perpendicular to the axes 351 of the rollers 35 addition.
- Other geometric configurations of the component 301 are included.
- the component 301 is functionally designed as a tubular air guide between the filter element 31 and opening of the inner space 30 and arranged in the inner space 30.
- Other air duct means - such as the housing 36 of the filter device 3 - are then no longer required.
- the filter device 3 from FIG. 1 has a scraper 32 designed as a cleaning device.
- the scraper 32 is arranged stationary on the housing.
- the wiper may have a wiper holder and a wiper lip 321 on the wiper holder.
- the scraper 32 extends over the entire width of the filter element 31.
- the rollers 35 By a drive 34 - see FIG. 2 - At least one of the rollers 35 about its axis 351, at least the effective filter surface of the filter element 31 is guided past the scraper 32 and freed from lint or other particles.
- the axes 351 of the rollers 35 may additionally be fixedly connected to coils, which coils are connected to each other via bands and a tension spring between the bands. Electromotive now one of the rollers 35 can be acted upon by a torque, so that the tension spring is tensioned and a restoring force is generated. This restoring force helps to return the filter element 31 after its cleaning by the scraper back to its original position.
- the former front section 311 of the filter element 31 is returned to its original position after cleaning.
- the formerly rearward section 312 may serve as the front section 311 of the air filtration.
- FIG. 1 also shows a module flap 61 in the base 7 indicated by a dotted line.
- This module flap 61 can be opened to replace the filter device 3 or to remove the collected lint.
- the filter device 3 is preferably designed as a filter module removable from the housing 6. The removal and insertion of the filter device 3 supporting elements such as guides, anchors, stops, etc. are not in the Figures 1 and 2 drawn, but facilitate the handling.
- the edge lengths a, b and c of the cuboid housing 36 follow in the embodiment of the Figures 1 and 2 the ratios a greater c, and b greater c, so that the filter device 3 with the height c occupies a relatively flat design and can be arranged to save space in the device foot 7 of a clothes dryer.
- the filter element 31 with its flat front and rear portions 311 and 312 advantageously aligned horizontally, so that an air flow, which comes from a drying room of the dryer and thus in the in FIG. 1 shown sketch "from above” comes without further change in direction over the air inlet 362 the filter element 31 can be supplied.
- FIG. 3 shows a section through a further schematic filter device 3 according to an embodiment of the invention, slightly from the filter device 3 after FIG. 1 different:
- the housing 36 is now adapted to the shape of the filter belt and thus even more space-saving.
- the housing 36 has Furthermore, in the immediate vicinity of the scraper 32 an opening through which stripped lint can fall into a river depot 33.
- the lint depot 33 can be removed by means of a dotted-off depot flap 62 indicated for emptying, without the entire filter device 3 having to be removed.
- the lint depot 33 may also be arranged in the other roller 35, provided that the scraper is arranged at the other roller 35. It can also be arranged one stripper 32 at each roller 35, each with an associated Flusendepot 33rd
- FIG. 5 shows a section through a further schematic filter device according to an embodiment of the invention, in the means for directing the flow of air from the interior 30 of the filter device 3 after FIG. 1 different.
- the filter device 3 according FIG. 5 no housing but includes only the filter element 31 and the rollers 35 and not shown fastening means for securing the filter device 3 in the dryer housing 6.
- an underside and optionally further housing components of the dryer housing 6 serves as a means for deflecting the filtered air from the interior 30 out.
- the filter belt can also rest directly on the housing bottom of the dryer housing.
- Other means for directing the air flow in the desired outlet direction include, for example, a support similar to the support 361 of the filter device 3, which support may be formed as a housing component of the dryer housing or as a separate component.
- FIG. 4 shows elements of a filter device according to an embodiment of the invention in exploded view.
- a housing of the filter device is cuboid and includes a frame 364 and a lid 365 which closes the frame 364 from its underside.
- a taper of the frame 364 forms an air inlet 362.
- a sealing lip 37 is attached at the air inlet 362 .
- the air inlet 362 can be connected in a sealed manner with continuing channel elements of the household appliance.
- air outlets 363 are formed in the form of openings.
- One of these air outlets 363 can be connected to a channel element 5, for example.
- the other air outlet 363 can be closed if necessary, or optionally also connected to a duct element for air supply.
- FIG. 6 shows an exemplary household appliance with a transparent housing 8 for illustrative purposes in the form of a tumble dryer with a drying room 1, a door 2 and a filter device 3 in a device foot 7 of the clothes dryer.
- the household appliance is placed with the device foot 7 on the ground.
- the filter device 3 is arranged in the device foot 9 near the door to keep the length of a channel element for the air supply low.
- the filter device 3 has an air inlet 362, via which the filter device 3 is fed with exhaust air from the drying chamber 1 with the interposition of a not shown channel element.
- the filter device 3 includes a horizontally disposed filter element below the air inlet 362. Due to the cuboidal design of the housing 36 of the filter device 3 and a non-visible in Figure 8 air outlet on the housing side facing a heat exchanger 4, the supplied air flow between the air inlet and the air outlet to 90 degrees deflected in his direction.
- the design of the filter device 3 has only a small footprint.
- the module-shaped design of the filter device 3 makes the filter device easily removable and interchangeable.
- a drawer-shaped flute depot 33 is disposed below the filter housing 36 and collects the particles deposited by the filter element.
- the lint depot 33 can be made extendible, so that disposal of the particles is easily possible. It can be accessible from the front of the device, eg below the user door 2.
- the further filter element may be formed, for example, as a lint filter without a cleaning device, upstream or downstream of the endless filter belt, and arranged, for example, parallel or perpendicular to the endless filter belt.
- the or each further filter element may have the same filter effect as the first filter element, but may preferably have a higher filtering effect and be, for example, more fine mesh than the upstream filter element, so that the upstream filter element initially freed the air from large particles while the downstream filter element of the filtered so Air separates smaller particles.
