Definitions
- the invention relates to a chop saw with the features of the preamble of claim 1 or the preamble of claim 5.
- a typical chop saw has a saw unit mounted pivotably about a transverse axis, the saw blade of which is pivotable from a raised rest position into a lowered saw position and vice versa. With this movement of the saw blade, a workpiece located on a workpiece support surface of a support can be cut off - cut off -.
- cross-cut saws are known not only with a saw unit pivotally mounted about a transverse axis, but also with a saw unit which can be pulled longitudinally over the workpiece support surface as so-called radial arm saws.
- the saw unit of a chop saw is normally biased in the direction of the rest position. This is usually done by a spring arrangement, in older constructions even by a counterweight. Contrary to the biasing force, the saw unit is handled on an operating handle and pivoted down to carry out the saw cut until the workpiece located on the workpiece support surface is completely severed. In this case, a small portion of the saw blade of the saw unit enters the edge in a submerged slot in the workpiece support surface.
- the known chop saw from which the invention proceeds (DE-U-203 13 885), is a miter, miter and pull saw, with the Kappexcellente, miter cuts and Schifterschnitte (double miter cuts) can be performed. Because of the tensile function, which is also realized as with a radial-arm saw, the cuts made can be longer than the effective cutting radius of the saw blade dictates.
- the saw unit is mounted by means of a bracket on the carrier. When Kappfunktion the saw unit is pivoted about a transverse axis from the raised rest position in the lowered sawing position and vice versa.
- the tilt adjustment serves to be able to pivot the saw unit with respect to the carrier about a horizontal pivot axis running in sawing direction in order to be able to execute a miter cut at the desired miter angle.
- the tilt adjustment has a tilt swivel axis.
- the inclination adjustment makes it possible to tilt the saw unit laterally relative to the workpiece support surface, so that corresponding miter cuts can be made with a miter angle determined by the inclination adjustment.
- Typical miter angles such as 45 ° or 30 °, in addition to the ⁇ 0 ° angle for the normal position, can be fixed by means of bolts or levers that are operated manually. But is often known only a stepless adjustment and fixation by means of a clamping screw with clamping knob. This is also the case in the known chop saw, from which the invention proceeds (DE-U-203 13 885).
- the known chop saw from which the invention proceeds, has a dust catching device, which sits at the bottom of the holder near the workpiece support surface.
- a suction nozzle of a dust catching device which is then connected via a suction hose to a suction device which generates a strong suction air flow at a dust inlet opening near the saw blade.
- the teaching is therefore based on the problem, the known chop saw with a cable guide to design and further develop that the arrangement of the components for dust extraction is optimized.
- the fact is exploited that there is a gap between the tie rods of the cable guide.
- a first part of the suction hose namely a hose extending from the connection piece on the saw unit itself to a hose connection to the spacer, which holds the two tie rods spaced from each other at the rear end and fixed relative to each other.
- the arrangement of the hose between the connection piece and this hose connection to the spacer requires a hose that is sufficiently flexible. This must reliably participate in the relative movement of the connecting piece relative to the spacer during the export of the saw cut, ie during the downward and upward pivoting of the saw unit, without becoming brittle.
- a corrugated hose made of plastic or metal comes into consideration.
- connection piece The position of the connection piece, the pivot angle of the saw unit from the rest position in the saw position and the position of the spacer relative to
- Exhaust nozzles are fixed parameters that are used in arrangement, dimensioning and
- connection point to the external suction hose or to a collecting bag of dust collecting device has been moved to the rearmost end of the chop saw and is there at a defined location, namely approximately in the longitudinal center of the saw unit. Neither the often quite bulky suction hose nor the correspondingly bulky collecting bag dust catcher interfere with this arrangement.
- the actual sawing functions of the chop saw - cap function, miter function and traction function - are hardly affected by the requirements of the dust catching device.
- a rearwardly extending, coat-like cladding on This is firmly attached to the bracket or, preferably, made in one piece with the bracket. It surrounds the train in the manner of a hollow profile. This arrangement provides a high rigidity in the region of the holder, so that very precise saw cuts can be performed.
- FIG. 2 shows the chop saw from FIG. 1 in a plan view
- Fig. 1 shows a chop saw, more specifically a miter saw and miter saw.
- the chop saw shown in FIG. 1 initially has a carrier 1, which forms a workpiece support surface 2.
- the rear end of the workpiece support surface 2 here forms a stop rail 3, on which a workpiece, for example a wooden strip, can be applied.
- a holder 4 is attached to the carrier 1, which lies behind the workpiece support surface 2 at the rear.
- a saw unit 5 Attached to the holder 4 above the carrier 1 is a saw unit 5. In the illustrated and preferred exemplary embodiment, this is pivotable about a transverse axis 6 and is located above the workpiece support surface 2.
- the transverse axis would be omitted.
- the saw unit would be pulled here on tie rods that cantilever over the workpiece support surface.
- the saw unit 5 is pivoted about the transverse axis 6 from a raised rest position, which can be seen in Fig. 1, in a lowered saw position, which is not shown here, and vice versa.
- the saw unit 5 is biased towards the rest position, ie upwards, in particular by a spring. As a result, the saw unit 5, when you let go, returns by itself back to the raised rest position.
- the saw unit 5 indicates
- a saw blade 10 driven by the drive motor 8 and mounted on a shaft 9, - A saw blade 10 from above about half covering the fixed protective hood 11,
- a pendulum guard 12 which covers the lower part of the sprocket of the saw blade 10 in the rest position shown in Figure 1, - a suction nozzle 13 a dust catching device and
- a movable dust collecting hood 14 arranged in the region between the holder 4 and the shaft 9 below the fixed protective hood 11.
- the latter is a special feature of the chop saw, which does not always have to be realized, but is realized here in a particularly expedient manner.
- the chop saw shown has a miter function in addition to the previously described Kappfunktion. So it's already a crosscut and miter saw.
- the chop saw on the holder 4 in turn a tilt adjustment 15.
- the saw unit 5 can be compared to the carrier 1 to pivot about a direction of sawing, horizontal tilt swivel axis 16.
- FIG. 3 shows the inclination pivot axis 16 physically present. Basically, a backdrop-like design is possible in which the inclination pivot axis 16 is only geometrically present and the pivoting movement is realized about this virtual pivot axis via other means of construction.
- an angle scale 17 at which one can read off the set angle of inclination. Due to the inclination about the inclination pivot axis 16, the miter angle of the executed saw cut can be adjusted and read off the angle scale 17.
- the illustrated and preferred chop saw has not only a cap function and a miter function, it also has a traction function.
- the saw unit 5 is pivotally mounted on the holder 4 not only by means of the transverse axis 6, but additionally also by means of a running in the direction of sawing cable guide 18 of two mutually parallel drawbars 18a, b slidably mounted bar. With this train function can be extended by the saw unit 5 executable saw cut.
- the illustrated and preferred exemplary embodiment shows on the carrier 1 a recessed turntable 19 with a cantilever arm 20 projecting forward and with a dipping slot 21, into which the edge of the saw blade 10 enters into sawing position.
- the length of the immersion slit 21 is substantially greater than that required for the diameter of the saw blade 10. This is due to the previously described pull guide 18, which just allows pulling of the saw blade 10 through the workpiece over a certain path.
- Fig. 2 shows in plan view here two mutually parallel tie rods 18a, b, which form the cable guide 18 and are rearwardly connected by a spacer 22 firmly together.
- the tie rods 18a, b are fixedly connected to the saw unit 5 and run on the holder 4 in FIG. 3 recognizable guides 23rd
- the tie rods 18a, b of the cable guide 18 are arranged at a distance next to each other and running parallel to each other. If one pulls on the saw unit 5, the tie rods 18a, b run in the guides 23, which are not displaceable even with respect to the carrier 1.
- the guides 23 are in the illustrated embodiment, however, according to the saw unit 5 about the inclination pivot axis 16 laterally tilted.
- FIG. 2 suggests that the suction nozzle 13 is arranged in projection approximately centrally between the tie rods 18 a, b.
- Fig. 3 shows that the suction nozzle 13 in the concrete construction with transverse axis. 6 lies directly above the transverse axis 6 and on the side facing away from the tie rods 18a, b side of the transverse axis 6.
- Figs. 1 and 2 show that the spacer 22 at the rearmost end of the tie rods 18a, b is arranged. This need not necessarily be so, the spacer 22 may possibly also be arranged slightly in front of the mechanical end of the tie rods 18a, b.
- FIG. 3 shows that, according to the teaching of the invention, the spacer 22 has a further function. For this purpose, it has approximately midway between the tie rods 18a, b a directed towards the workpiece support surface 2 hose connection 24.
- Fig. 3 can be clearly seen that the connecting piece 13 is connected to the hose connection 24 via a hose 25. This is approximately centrally located between the tie rods 18a, b. This applies geometrically in the region of the spacer, in the region of the exhaust pipe 13 in projection. It is essential that the tube 25 extends between the tie rods 18a, b protected and is located in a region which has constant boundary conditions during operation of the chop saw.
- the saw unit 5 of the chop saw moves in operation from the recognizable in Fig. 1 and 3 rest position by pivoting about the transverse axis 6 down to the workpiece support surface 2, also displaces the suction nozzle 13 in Fig. 3 to the right.
- This relative movement of the suction nozzle 13 relative to the hose connection 24 of the spacer 22 must be able to be picked up by the hose 25. This must therefore be sufficiently flexible. It is therefore particularly expedient to carry out the hose 25 as a corrugated hose made of plastic or metal.
- the relative movement of the suction nozzle 13 relative to the hose connection 24 of the spacer 22 is precisely determined and limited to a relatively small extent. Therefore, the boundary conditions for the installation of the hose 25 and for its operation are specified exactly. They do not change. This is a particular advantage of the construction according to the invention.
- the tube 25 moves with the saw unit 5 when pulling in Sägerich- direction by means of the cable guide 18.
- the spacer 22 moves at the end of the tie rods 18 a, b.
- the spacer 22 has ne- ben the hose connection 24 a connection 26 for an external suction hose or a collecting bag a dust catching device.
- This connection point is according to the invention far away from the sawing area of the saw unit 5 and the workpiece support surface 2.
- the often inflexible suction hose or a bulky collecting sack do not interfere in the area of the saw unit 5 itself.
- the movements of the saw unit 5 are hindered by the Staubfangvorrichrung in any way.
- the spacer 22 is designed as a metal part, in particular as an aluminum die-cast part. This creates a high strength. In principle, however, it is also possible to design the spacer 22 as a plastic part, in particular of fiber-reinforced plastic.
- the figures show an independent special feature of the construction according to the invention, which provides a high stability and torsional rigidity of the arrangement in the region of the holder 4.
- a rearwardly extending, coat-like panel 27 is provided on the holder 4, namely, on the side facing away from the workpiece support surface 2 side of the transverse axis 6, a rearwardly extending, coat-like panel 27 is provided.
- the cable guide 18 extends through the panel 27.
- the guides 23 are within the panel 27.
- the torsional stiffness is essential that the panel 27 is fixedly attached to the bracket 4 or, even better, with the bracket 4 is made in one piece.
- an inclination adjustment is provided with a connected to the support 1 fixed part 28 and connected to the bracket 4 tiltable part 29 and that the panel 27 with the inclination pivotable part 29 fixedly connected or, preferably, in one piece is executed.
- the panel 27 with the holder 4 and with the tiltable part 29 as a metal part, in particular as an aluminum die-cast part is executed.
- the panel creates a hollow profile-like construction in the region of the holder 4. It results in a particularly high torsional rigidity of the overall arrangement. The execution of the saw cuts is very exact.
