Definitions
- the invention relates to a glove comprising an outer glove which forms the upper, an intermediate glove which contains a waterproof, water-vapor-permeable functional layer and an inner glove which serves as lining.
- One possibility is to apply an adhesive to the outer and inner gloves and then to connect with the intermediate glove. In principle, this fixation of the glove layers with all materials is applicable.
- Another way to fix the glove layers together is to use the intermediate glove and apply on the top and bottom of each finger a strip of double-sided tape and gluing in further steps with lining and outer glove.
- a strip of self-adhesive tape may be adhered to form a tab over each fingertip (inside and outside) of the intermediate glove.
- the fixation of the upper and lining is done by sewing on a staple bag and seam allowance.
- the adhesion is highly dependent on type of membrane, type and amount of adhesive and often only partially resistant to washing.
- Another alternative is an intermediate glove with integrated fixation strip in the form of a double-sided coated fabric strip.
- a strip is inserted between the two membranes during the manufacturing process and then the two glove parts are thermally welded or glued together.
- both the outer glove and the inner glove can be sewn.
- the coating of the fixing strip separates from the fabric strip by use and washing, resulting in leaks because the fabric strip can transport water.
- the edges of the fixation strip are a weak point in terms of water-tightness.
- the object of the present invention is to eliminate or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art.
- a multi-layered glove comprising an outer glove, an intermediate glove and an inner glove, wherein the intermediate glove contains a waterproof, water vapor permeable functional layer, wherein the intermediate glove is formed at least from a top and a lower part, wherein upper part and lower part at its peripheral edge wherein the intermediate glove in the region of the fingertips has a strip of fusible tape which is present between the upper part and lower part and is fused in the region of the weld with the upper part and lower part, wherein the strip projects into the intermediate glove and beyond the fingertip region ,
- the strip of fusible tape serves as a fixation strip for the inner glove and the outer glove.
- the welding of intermediate glove upper part and lower part at the peripheral edge can be done after production of glove-shaped upper and lower parts. But the production of the intermediate glove can also be done by superimposing non-preformed parts and subsequent glove-shaped form welding and punching or cutting seam.
- welding is to be understood as meaning the connection by fusion under the action of heat, for example by ultrasound or laser.
- the parts to be welded can be connected to a thermoplastic material, which is melted and thus produces the welded joint.
- the parts to be welded are fused directly together.
- the fusible strip material in the production of the intermediate glove, fuses with the fusible portion of the intermediate glove top and bottom, which provides a durable bond and water resistance under mechanical stress, e.g. by washing and drying.
- the fusible portion of intermediate glove upper part and lower part is preferably the functional layer.
- the invention provides a permanently waterproof intermediate glove with integrated fixation strip.
- the combination of stripes and intermediate gloves is permanently waterproof.
- the intermediate glove retains its full breathability and is washable.
- the present invention is equally suitable for finger gloves and mitts, with mitts a strip on the thumb and one or more stripes on the mitten of the intermediate glove may be present.
- a fixing strip is present on each finger of the intermediate glove, which protrudes into the finger of the intermediate glove and is fused in the region of the welding of the upper and lower part of the intermediate glove with derem fusible portion, preferably with the functional layer.
- the lining can be fastened to the inwardly projecting fixation strip and the upper material can be fastened to the part of the fixation strip which is fused to the membrane in the region of the shaping weld and protrudes beyond the fingertip area.
- the waterproofness of the intermediate glove is not adversely affected.
- the intermediate glove is formed from an upper part and a lower part, the upper and lower part of a functional layer and possibly other layers contained, wherein the upper and lower part are welded together at its peripheral edge and with an opening for insertion of the hand is left open.
- the glove of the invention may have further layers, e.g. a padding.
- the functional layer may be hydrophilic or hydrophobic, a porous membrane or a non-porous membrane.
- the functional layer is hydrophilic and non-porous.
- Polyether esters or copolyether esters, polyether urethane, polyether amide or mixtures thereof are preferably selected as membrane materials.
- a hydrophilic membrane is to be understood as meaning a membrane which is characterized by a water absorption of at least 5% by weight.
- the parts of the intermediate glove may be present as a laminate of the functional layer and the textile fabric.
- the sheet may be, for example, a nonwoven fabric, a knitted fabric or a woven fabric.
- the functional layer consists of fusible material.
- the textile fabric may be made of fusible material or the membrane. Of course, both components of the laminate of fusible material be. When welding, the fusible parts of the upper part and lower part must be opposite each other.
- the melting point of the fusible band should be at most as high as the melting point of the fusible portion of the intermediate glove material.
- the melting point of the fusible ribbon is below the temperature generated during the welding of the intermediate glove parts, more preferably a melt temperature of the ribbon which is below 150 ° C.
- melting temperatures of the strip below 120 ° C. or below 100 ° C. are preferred.
- the fusible tape is preferably made of polyurethane, polyolefins such as polypropylene or polyethylene, polyester, polyamide, copolymers of these substances or mixtures thereof.
- the fusible ribbon has a very low melting temperature in the range of 60 ° C to 85 ° C.
- the ribbon material having a melting temperature of 60 ° C to 85 ° C is selected from the group consisting of copolyamides, polyurethanes, copolymers of polyurethane, olefinic copolymers, for example, ethylene terpolymer, copolymers of acrylates and ethylene vinyl acetate terpolymer.
- the band which is placed between the parts to be joined is preferably in contact with the watertight, water vapor-permeable functional layer.
- the strip used for the method according to the invention is preferably a film or a textile fabric, for example a nonwoven, woven or knitted fabric or combinations thereof.
- the present invention also includes a method for making a multi-layered glove.
- an inner glove, an intermediate glove and an outer glove is made.
- the intermediate gloves are usually obtained in terms of simple and inexpensive manufacture from two substantially equal, flat counterparts by superimposing and forming a hand-shaped contour, which are waterproof connected along the contours of a mitten or finger glove.
- the connection is made by welding.
- the outside of the inner glove is connected to the fusible tapes of the intermediate glove, which protrudes into the intermediate glove, and the inside of the outer glove is connected to the fusible tapes of the intermediate glove, which protrude beyond fingertip of the intermediate glove.
