Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Beleuchtungssystem (1) mit einem zu durchleuchtenden Körper (4) aus einem transparenten Material und mit einer Mehrzahl von Leuchtdioden (3), die auf einem streifenförmigen Träger (2) angeordnet sind, wobei der streifenförmige Träger (2) Leiterbahnen (5) aufweist mit denen die Leuchtdioden (3) in elektrischem Kontakt stehen. Um ein Beleuchtungselement bereitzustellen, bei dem die spezifischen Eigenschaften von Leuchtdioden effizienter genutzt und berücksichtigt werden und eine bessere Raumausleuchtung ohne Blendeffekte erzielt wird, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass der streifenförmige Träger (2) mit den Leuchtdioden (3) zumindest abschnittsweise an oder in einem Körper (4) aus einem massiven transparenten Material angeordnet ist, der seinerseits als Bauelement eines ansonsten nicht der Beleuchtung dienenden Gebäude- oder Möbelteils verwendbar ist.
