Definitions
- Low-pressure snow cannons are probably the most used in snow production for ski slope snowmaking today. They consist of a blower tube, in which an axial fan is located on the inlet side, and on the outlet side a nozzle ring with water nozzles, which spray water on the conveyed air stream. The cold ambient air makes the fine water droplets freeze to snow crystals, which then fall to the ground as snow.
- the invention is that in the snow gun the sucked air stream (5) is divided into several exiting air streams (6). Each exiting air stream (6) is sprayed through a nozzle ring (3) with water. Due to the division of the sucked air stream (5) into a plurality of exiting air streams (6), the water injected into the exiting air streams (6) is better mixed with the outside air, thereby achieving a better cutting result. This means that more snow can be produced with the same amount of energy. Another advantage is that the amount of snow produced is distributed more evenly on the track.
