Print a decoration on a sheet or band-shaped paper, the decor is a wood or stone decor.
Decorative paper for coating wood-based carrier boards is usually produced by printing on a base paper using gravure printing rollers.
So ist zum For the production of panels with decorative surfaces, in addition to roller printing processes, digital printing processes are also used. So is to
Example from WO 98/26936 A1 discloses a method for producing resin-impregnated decorative papers for coating carrier plates. The so coated carrier plates (laminates) are intended especially for the furniture industry. In the known method, resin-impregnated paper is printed by means of a digital printer, in particular laser printer with a digital image.
Hinsichtlich der Roller printing processes are well suited for the production of large amounts of decor paper due to their high printing speed. With regard to the
Production of panels, in particular floor panels, is important Roller printing typically to repeat the printed decoration. The frequency of repetition of the decoration can basically only be influenced by the diameter and the length of the pressure rollers. However, both parameters can not be varied arbitrarily, but are limited for technical reasons. In contrast, digital printing methods basically have unlimited possibilities for individualizing the decoration. The possibility of individualization essentially depends only on the storage capacity made available for holding the digital decor data, the currently available computer performance and the creative performance of the decor developers. On the other hand, however, digital printing methods are comparatively expensive since the quantity output achievable with a digital printing system is limited and relatively low.

Stone decor reflects the structure of the stone to be imitated and it is selected from a particular colorations, inclusions and Petrefakte comprehensive group and / or reflects joints between stone tiles.
Bei dem The invention is thus based on the idea of combining intaglio and digital printing with one another in order to produce decor paper for coating a main body, which is formed from a carrier plate of wood-based material, a compact plate and / or of laminate. Performance is higher than a system that uses only digital printing.
Gegenüber einer Digitaldruckanlage zum vollflƤchigen The colors (inks) required for a digital printing unit cost a multiple of the printing inks that can be used in generic intaglio printing machines. Compared to a digital printing system for full-surface
Ā Printing one side of a paper web, the device of the invention is thus characterized by significantly cheaper consumption costs.
Because of the at least one digital printhead only one or more portions of the sheet or tape-shaped paper with at least one
Decorative element are printed, in terms of digital printing, no full reproduction with respect to the decor to be provided surface of the paper is required. This is a simpler software architecture or
Softwareprogrammierung gegenüber einem ausschlieĆlich Digitaldruck anwendenden Verfahren mƶglich. Software programming compared to a method using exclusively digital printing possible.
A further advantage of the solution according to the invention results in relation to an already existing engraved printing roll in that the decoration printed by means of the printing roll is varied by means of the at least one digital printing head. For example, by means of the at least one digital print head, a ship bottom decoration printed by means of an already existing pressure roller can be provided with longitudinal and transverse lines, in order to reinforce the joint optics of the ship bottom decoration. The at least one decorative element which is printed by means of the at least one digital printhead can be one or more decorative elements of the following types of decorative elements: a) decorative elements which show the structure of the material to be imitated
wiedergeben. In the case of wood this can be the grain, core and sapwood, branches, resin galls, feeding ducts, discoloration by fungi, reaction wood, etc. In the case of stone, these can be various discolorations, inclusions, petrefacts, etc.
b) Dekorelemente, welche einzelne Dekorabschnitte voneinander abgrenzen, wie zum Beispiel Fugen zwischen Keramikfliesen oder StƶĆe zwischen Holzpaneelen. b) decorative elements that delimit individual decorative sections, such as joints between ceramic tiles or joints between wooden panels.
c) Dekorelemente, die eine separate Abbildung neben einem zu imitierenden Werkstoff bilden, wie zum Beispiel Nagel- oder Schraubenkƶpfe in einem Holzpaneel. c) decorative elements that form a separate image next to a material to be imitated, such as nail or screw heads in a wooden panel.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the printing position of the at least one decorative element is predetermined on the surface of the paper to be provided with the decor according to a random principle. In particular, the decoration element may be the representation of a branch or another typical wood feature in a wood decor. In this way, in particular wooden floorboards can be imitated, with a repetition of identical-looking wooden floorboards is excluded by the random positioning of the decorative element or branch.
Alternatively or additionally, a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the at least one decorative element is selected from a group of decorative elements according to a random principle. For example, example, by means of roller pressure (gravure) a wood decor, for example, a pine decor are printed on the sheet or band-shaped paper. By means of a subsequent digital printing then areal limited decor elements, for example, branches, printed on the serving as a basis wood decor of the paper. If one has deposited the digital data of a multiplicity of optically different decorative elements or branches in a corresponding data memory and then carries out the variant selection by means of a random generator, a corresponding multiplicity of different decorative papers results.
Particularly preferred and advantageous is a combination of such random generator controlled selection of a decorative element of the plurality of variants with a randomly controlled position selection in the X and / or Y direction, i. in the longitudinal and / or transverse direction of the respective paper. In this way, decorative paper coated panels can be designed so that it is impossible or almost impossible to find two identical panels under the panels produced in this way. In this case, by extension of a certain type of decorative element, for example of Astabbildungen, by another type of another decorative element, for example, other "wood defects" and / or different signs of wear, such as mats, the number of variants can be further increased.
The application of the present invention is not limited to wood designs. Likewise, the number of variants of decor papers printed with stone or tile decors can also be increased with the method according to the invention. Thus, for example, a natural stone decor printed by means of roller printing (gravure printing) can be varied by printing "inclusions" or other distinctive locations on the natural stone decor which serves as the basis by means of the at least one digital print head.
A further advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that by means of the at least one printing cylinder unit one or more partial surfaces of the decor to be provided with the decor Surface of the paper to be printed, and that one or more by means of the at least one printing cylinder unit not printed partial areas are printed by means of the at least one digital printhead. This embodiment is particularly advantageous if the at least one decorative element, which is printed by means of the at least one digital print head, has a relatively large surface area and would conceal a corresponding partial area of a previously printed decoration. Because by the partial area, which is printed after the roller pressure by means of the at least one digital printhead, previously omitted in the roller pressure, can be during
Walzendruck Druckfarbe sparen. Roller pressure save ink.
In terms of apparatus, this embodiment is preferably realized in that the at least one pressure roller unit has at least one pressure roller, in particular gravure roller or blanket roller, which contains in its circumferential surface at least one recess for producing a non-printed area on the paper.
Further, this design also includes the ability to vary the order of roll printing and digital printing, i. the roller pressure does not necessarily have to be performed before the digital printing in this embodiment; If required, it can also be carried out after digital printing. Furthermore, this embodiment enables an arrangement of the at least one digital printhead between two printing roller units which execute the roller printing.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that a plurality of print heads are arranged one behind the other in the feed direction of the paper. This embodiment makes it possible to realize a high feed rate of the paper during its printing, wherein the digital print heads, which usually work more slowly than a printing roll mill, each print a part of the decor element to be printed digitally. Through this Task sharing, where each digital print head does some of the digital printing work, can increase the feed rate of the paper to be printed. A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the at least one digital print head in the feed direction of the paper to be printed is movable. In this way, more time can be given to the digital print head for printing the respective decorative element, so that the high printing speed of the at least one printing cylinder unit can still be maintained despite the conventionally comparatively lower printing speed of the digital print head.
Further preferred and advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
Es zeigen in schematischer The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to a drawing illustrating several embodiments. It show in more schematic

Druckwalzen aufgedruckt. Printing rollers printed. Subsequently, by means of two printing cylinder units 4.1, 5.1, each of an engraved printing roller (printing cylinder) 4.1 1, 5.1 1 with dyeing and dampening rollers and a blanket cylinder 4.12, 5.12 are constructed with impression cylinders 8, 9, a decor, such as a wood decor printed. This printing process is also referred to as indirect gravure printing.
The printing cylinder units 4.1, 5.1 are post-processing devices 4.2, 5.2 arranged downstream. The respective post-processing device 4.2, 5.2 can, for example, by means of a hot air flow or by means of electromagnetic radiation, in particular UV radiation cause drying or partial drying of the printed color. Instead of two or more pressure rollers works 4.1, 5.1, the device or system 1 according to the invention may optionally also have only a single printing cylinder unit 4.1 or 5.1. According to the invention, at least one decorative element is printed onto one or more partial areas of the paper 2 by means of at least one digital print head 6.1, so that the previously printed decor remains at least partially visible or the previously printed decor surrounds the decorative element. The digital printhead 6.1 operates, for example, on the principle of the jet printing technology, which is widely used in so-called inkjet printers. In Fig. 1, a short bar is below the digital application device 6.1 indicated that indicates a droplet jet or more in series positioned droplet jets. The digital application device 6.1 is designed in such a way that it prints one or more decorative elements on the paper web in places or in rows transversely to the direction of movement of the paper web 2. This digital printing does not print completely, but only partially.
With the digital print head 6.1 can be printed in one color or multi-color. For example, the digital printhead 6.1 may be equipped with a color cartridge containing a single color or colored ink. Alternatively or additionally, however, the digital print head 6.1 can also be provided with one or more color cartridges which comprise or form a plurality of chambers with different inks or colors, for example containing the colors yellow, blue and red as base dyeings, so that the digital print head 6.1 in a pass also several or different colors can print at the same time.
The decorative elements are, for example, images of branches (ie branch cross-sections), inclusions, adhesions, grain defects, grain tufts, annual rings, representations of light sapwood, Feeding ducts (eg woodworm holes / gangways), nail and / or screw heads, etc ..
Furthermore or alternatively, the decorative elements may also be inclusions or other distinctive locations of stone decors.
In the present context, the term "decorative element" can also be understood to mean logos. The logos are, for example, company names, word-picture marks, slogans, imprints, as are customary on freight crates, etc.
Furthermore, a computer 6.2 as means for generating a dot distribution for driving the digital application device 6.1 is connected to the same. The computer 6.2 processes digital control information and transmits it to the digital printhead 6.1.
Der Zufallsgenerator 6.4 dient dazu, verschiedene Varianten eines oder mehrererThe image data of different variants of said decorative elements and / or logos are stored in a data memory 6.3 of the computer 6.2. Furthermore, the computer 6.2 is provided with a random number generator 6.4. The random number generator 6.4 is used to different variants of one or more
Dekorelemente, z.B. Decorative elements, e.g. Branches and bright sapwood parts to select at random and to specify the position of the respective decorative element on the paper 2 in the X and / or Y direction also according to a random principle.
So kann beispielsweise die Form eines ellipsenfƶrmigen Dekorelements, beispielsweise eines ellipsenfƶrmigen Astquerschnittes oderIt is also within the scope of the invention that the computer 6.2 can not only select a decor element from a plurality of decorative elements according to a Zufalisprinzip, but also modify a decorative element, in particular can alienate. For example, the shape of an elliptical decorative element, for example, an elliptical branch cross-section or
Stone inclusion, by varying the length of the main and / or minor axis the ellipse are modified. Furthermore, the invention also includes an embodiment in which the computer 6.2 can even produce decorative elements according to a random principle, for example geometric shapes such as a circle, a square, triangles, trapezoids, polygons, or lines or even complex decorative elements.
To the digital application device 6.1 is followed as before to the roller printing units 4.1, 5.1, a post-processing device 6.5 to dry the or the previously applied decorative elements.
On the digital applicator 6.1 or the post-processing device 6.5 further processing stations (not shown) may follow, by means of which on the decor including the printed decorative elements a

With the roller printing units 4.1, 5.1, one side of the paper web 2 can be provided over the entire surface with a wood decoration or stone decor, for example stone tiles or natural stone decor, whereupon one or more individual surface regions of the paper web 2 are additionally printed with the at least one digital printer 6.1.
Alternatively or additionally, the invention provides that with the roller printing method only a certain surface area of the paper 2 is printed and that the one or the non-printed areas are printed by at least one digital printer 6.1. This embodiment is sketched in FIG.

With a device 1 according to FIG. 1, it is in particular possible to print a decor as a multicolored decoration, wherein with each of the printing cylinder units 4.1, 5.1 another color of the decoration is printed on the paper web or the paper sheet 2, and wherein a color of the multicolored decoration is printed on the paper web or the paper sheet 2 by means of the digital printing station 6 having the at least one digital print head 6.1. For example, different wood designs (types of wood) can be printed without a pressure roller change, at least as long as the wood species are in their typical
Basic structure (grain) do not differ too much. This saves considerable set-up times, whereby the required color change alone can be carried out comparatively easily and quickly.
4, a plate is shown in plan view, which is coated with a decorative paper 2 produced by the process according to the invention. The plate has a Holzdielendekor 2.2, which was produced by means of pressure rollers 4.1, 5.1. Furthermore, the plate or decorative paper 2 decor elements 2.3 in the form of branches, which were generated by means of at least one digital printhead 6.1. The shape and / or size of the branches 2.3 and their position on the surface were determined randomly. For this purpose, the at least one digital printhead 6.1 is connected to a controller 6.2 which has a random number generator 6.4 (see Fig. 1), which selects the respective branch image 2.3 as a decorative element from a group of decorative elements according to a random principle and also the printing position of the respective branch image 2.3 on the with the decor 2.2 to be provided surface of the paper 2 according to a random principle.
FIG. 5 shows a plan view of a wood-based panel coated with decorative paper 2 '. The decorative paper 2 'produced by the process according to the invention is likewise provided with a wooden board decoration 2.2', which was produced by means of pressure rollers 4.1, 5.1. Furthermore, the plate or decorative paper 2 'has a logo 2.4, which was generated by means of a digital print head 6.1. For producing a decorative paper 2 'with such a decor 2.2', 2.4, in particular a device according to FIG. 2, but also devices according to FIGS. 1 and 3 are suitable. The embodiment of the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments described above. Rather, numerous variants and combinations are conceivable, which make use even with fundamentally different design of the invention specified in the appended claims.
