Definitions

  • the invention relates to an odor trap for sealing a sewer or the like against vapors or odors flowing back from this sewer into a room or environment.
  • Such an odor trap is often referred to as a "siphon".
  • Such odor traps are used in particular in sanitary rooms, e.g. in a shower.
  • odor traps There are two fundamentally different types of odor trap, which operate on different physical principles of action. Some are water-bearing odor traps in which "sealing water” remains after the expiration in a collecting element and, for example, by means of a dip tube prevents the passage of gas through the odor trap.
  • the other waterless odor traps comprise an outer inlet or flow-through element in which an elastic membrane is arranged, which flows through a fluid flowing through the odor trap in an outflow direction and avoids the passage of the fluid in a direction of counterflow in the outflow direction, in that the membrane sealingly against the inside of the flow-through element.
  • the membrane has two functions: On the one hand, this prevents one Backwater and on the other hand it prevents the intrusion of vermin or animals.
  • the fluid is hereinafter referred to as wastewater, because the description refers to a sanitary application, but without being limited thereto.
  • Odor shutters scavenge channel odors against the room air. Evaporation in the room where the odor trap is located, e.g. a shower, because of the higher air movement and the lower humidity in the room air higher than in the sewer, which seals the odor trap against odors.
  • the membrane is very sensitive to tolerances, since this must be present to fully realize the effect of the odor trap on the inside of the naturalströmelements.
  • the wastewater containing substances dirt particles, hair, etc.
  • Existing odor traps are therefore collectively prone to error, especially in case of prolonged disuse.
  • the problem is initially addressed in generic odor traps that the flow-through is connected to a receiving element, so that the lower end protrudes into the receiving element.
  • the flow-through element can be connected to the receiving element for receiving wastewater in this way, that after flowing through the waste water in the outflow direction by the odor trap wastewater remains in the receiving element.
  • an odor trap which is suitable for closing a sewer or the like against vapors or odors flowing back from this sewer into a room or environment, in particular for use in a sanitary room such as a shower.
  • the odor trap comprises an outer flow-through element, in which an elastic membrane is arranged such that it flows through a fluid flowing through in an outflow direction and avoids the passage of the fluid in a counterflow direction opposite to the outflow direction, in that the membrane bears sealingly against the inside of the flow-through element ,
  • the odor trap further comprises a receiving element, which is designed to receive fluid and which is connected to the flow-through element so that after flowing through the fluid in the outflow through the odor trap fluid remains in the receiving element.
  • the flow-through element is additionally connected to the receiving element in such a way that the flow-through element sits in the receiving element at least with its lower sealing end, against which the membrane bears sealingly against the inner side, such that a sealing lip of the membrane is in the receiving element after flowing through remaining wastewater sits.
  • the receiving element thus serves as a receptacle or shell in which so much wastewater remains after flowing through that the closing end or the sealing lip of the membrane sits in the wastewater.
  • the invention thus combines an odor trap with a membrane, which in principle does not require "sealing water", with a receiving element for receiving waste water, through which in the receiving element after the discharge remaining wastewater to achieve an additional seal against odors.
  • the membrane Since, as described above, the humidity in the room is lower than in the sewer, the water first evaporates into the room. However, because the membrane now closes this area, the evaporation from the pot-like receiving element is prevented by the preferably dome-like sitting over the receiving element membrane; one can speak in this respect of a "2-stage odor trap". In principle, it is more advantageous if the membrane is arranged higher above the receiving element, because in this respect the available evaporation volume under the membrane and the receiving element is increased, which counteracts the drying of the odor trap and thus its malfunction.
  • the proposed odor trap is preferably designed for installation in the ground, but can also be installed in other sanitary areas, for example in the wall for a urinal, which has the advantage that here the otherwise aggressive urine stone does not clog the odor trap.
  • the odor trap can be integrated into a connecting piece that acts as a carrier element or directly into a urinal; Preferably, it is releasably secured for cleaning and / or maintenance purposes, for example by means of a latching connection.
  • the odor trap can be designed so that the flow-through at least with its lower sealing end, against which the membrane rests sealingly against the inner contact surface of the fürströmelements so in the receiving element sits, that a sealing lip of the membrane sits in the wastewater.
  • the flow-through element with the membrane but also clearly be arranged above the receiving element.
  • the receiving element is designed as a pot element, in which wastewater stops and thus ensures that the sealing lip of the membrane always sits in the water.
  • the individual parts of the odor trap are designed as plastic injection-molded parts.
  • the production and assembly is simplified by the parts are designed as rotationally symmetrical parts.
  • the Fig. 1 shows a cross section of the odor trap 2 according to the invention installed in a connector 4, which can be installed, for example, in the bottom of a shower above a Rohbaufuß convinceds.
  • the connector 4 further comprises a hollow cylindrical spacer 43 with a top grate holder 44 for a drain grate. 5
  • the odor trap 2 is inventively integrated into the connector 4 and releasably engaged for the purpose of simple cleaning in the connector 4, which has a laterally projecting connecting piece 45 for a sewer pipe (not shown).
  • the odor trap 2 consists of a cup-shaped receiving element 21, which defines an upwardly open annular space 22 with a centrally arranged vertical web 23.
  • a mushroom-shaped retaining cap 24 is snapped on the top side, which has a cross-shaped dome with a cylindrical central fastening neck 25 and both sides on both sides, which terminates in a circumferential downwardly directed outer web 27.
  • the retaining cap 24 has a plurality of webs 33 which are spaced from one another at a large extent and which serve as a contact surface for a conical membrane 28.
  • this integrally formed, elastic membrane 28 is clamped between the outer web 27 and the attachment piece 25 by means of an inner side encompassing counter-holder 29.
  • the trained as a truncated cone membrane 28 extends from this upper attachment end with the lateral surface in installation position trapezoidal radially outward and forms at the lower end of a circumferential sealing lip 30 which bears under prestress and thus sealingly on the inside of the hollow cylindrical lower portion of a fürströmelements 31.
  • This through-flow element 31 passes approximately in the upper third in an arcuately radially outwardly projecting retaining flange 32 whose free end ends approximately above the cup-shaped receiving element 21, wherein between the upper edge of the receiving element 21 and the lower edge of the retaining flange 32 is formed a passage opening through the effluent effluent flowing into the surrounding connector 4 and then into the sewer pipe can flow.
  • waste water flows through the openings in the cover grate into the upper end of the fürströmelements 31 and flows through the openings between the spaced apart webs 33 laterally to the sealing lip 30 of the membrane 28.
  • the water pressure overcomes the restoring force of the diaphragm 28 and pushes them radially inside, so that the wastewater can pass through the gap or annular gap thus formed.
  • the wastewater then flows over the edge of the receiving element 21 into the connecting piece 4.
  • the membrane 9 again sets inside sealing on the inner surface of the fürströmelements 31 and closes the trap. Remaining residual waste water in the annular space 22 of the receiving element 21 ensures that at least the sealing lip 30 of the membrane 28 is permanently seated in the waste water and thereby effectively avoids odor development in the space above the odor trap.
  • the retaining flange 32 of the flow-through element 31 is detachable, e.g. snapped by a plurality of locking hooks or a circumferential rubber lip on a mounting flange 42 of the connector 4. It is of course within the scope of the invention to design the connection with the connector 4 differently.
  • connection piece 45 When installing the fitting 4 is placed with the integrated odor trap on the Rohbaufußboden and the connection piece 45 is connected to a sewer pipe. Then the space is filled from the top of the Rohbaufuß foundeds to the top of the mounting flange 42 with screed with a slope to the drain. On the dried screed, a sealing element is applied, which can then be covered with a tile mirror. Normally, the spacer 43 will be adjusted in length.
