It is preferable since overheating of the railroad switches during long-lasting heating negatively affects some of their components, e.g. insulating washers made of plastic.
  • the non-conductive heating of railroad switches according to the invention can be used to increase the efficiency of melting out snow and icings or to reduce the power of heaters or to accomplish both of these purposes.
