Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'ouverture d'un canal de coulée de cuves métallurgiques telles que des poches de coulée ou similaires, le canal de coulée étant disposé sur le fond revêtu de la cuve. Le dispositif comprend une fermeture à tiroir qui présente au moins deux plaques coulissantes (5, 7), une plaque coulissante (5) fixe et reliée à la cuve et au moins une plaque coulissante (7) mobile en contact actif avec la plaque coulissante, toutes les plaques coulissantes (5, 7) présentant au moins une ouverture de coulée (6, 8) et étant mobiles les unes par rapport aux autres, de telle manière que pour s'ouvrir et faire sortir la masse fondue, les ouvertures de coulée (6, 8) sont amenées en coïncidence. L'invention vise à apporter une amélioration de la qualité par réduction de l'apport d'oxyde dans les répartiteurs de coulée continue et les lingotières, et donc d'améliorer la rentabilité. A cet effet, selon l'invention, on n'utilise plus du tout de sable de remplissage de tiroir, du fait qu'un bouchon (12), dont la grosseur est supérieure au diamètre du canal de coulée et qui est relié au revêtement de la cuve, est disposé au-dessus de la fermeture à tiroir, et du fait que la fermeture à tiroir présente une conduite d'amenée de gaz (10), laquelle peut être exposée à l'effet d'un gaz sous pression, de telle manière que le bouchon (12) peut être retiré de façon pneumatique de sa position fermée pour libérer le canal de coulée.
