Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing book-type identification documents, each having an individualized data sheet, in particular an individualized data card, and preferably a plurality of book-like arranged book sheets for receiving visa (Visa).
  • Identification documents in particular travel documents, such as passport books, serve to verify the identity of a person. Travel documents are issued by public authorities in the exercise of their sovereign functions, for example to allow the document holder to cross the border into another state.
  • Passbooks therefore, in addition to identifying the person (personalizing) data on a data card that has the ID-3 format of the German passport in accordance with ISO / IEC 7810 in the version in force at the time of priority of the present application, further books on which So-called visas (visas) of the states into which the person enters.
  • the data card, the passbook sheets and a cover are bound together in a stapling process.
  • passport documents such as identity documents.
  • Such an identification document is the German identity card currently issued in the form of an ID-1 ID card in accordance with ISO / IEC 7810 in the version valid at the time of priority of the present application.
  • the datasheet (passport) of a passport document includes the personalizing data such as name, date and place of birth, nationality, facial image and the document holder's personalization (personalizing the document), as well as a document identifying the document Serial number, the date of issue of the document and the issuing authority and the type of passport (the document individualizing data). Furthermore, the data card is equipped with various security features that allow a third party to verify the authenticity of the identification document (Veriquesmerkmale), for example, with a Guillochendruck, with a pointing, for example, the federal coat of arms kinegraphic object and other security features.
  • the book pages of a German passport also have authenticity features on their pages, such as a guilloche print and a reproduction of the national coat of arms.
  • individualizing (personalizing) data are also indicated on at least one of these booklets, namely information about the place of residence and biometric data (size, eye color) of the document holder, the date and place of issue and the serial number of the passport.
  • biometric data size, eye color
  • passport documents There are different types of passport documents. In Germany, a distinction is made between a normal passport, a provisional passport, a child passport, a government passport, a service passport, a foreigner passport, a passport for refugees and a passport for stateless persons.
  • the child passport and the temporary passport do not have a data card. In this case all individualizing data are placed on the booklets of the identification document.
  • the normal passport there are also different sized book parts with 16 or 24 booklets, corresponding to 32 or 48 book pages.
  • the German passports differ by the color of the respective cover and by other different types of entries on the data card.
  • the data card of passbooks may typically be in the form of a plastic laminate with a laminated film piece into which the required information is incorporated, for example, a polymeric material.
  • the data card may for example be provided with a so-called pass tab, which protrudes laterally beyond the intended format of the data card and is stapled together with the passbook sheets.
  • DE 10 2008 031 654 A1 show that such data cards, which are made exclusively of polycarbonate layers, not suitable to incorporate this in a passport. Therefore, it is common to produce data cards with a card body, in which at least one layer is incorporated, which consists of a different plastic material, which is suitable for incorporation in a passport book and allows easy turning of the data card in the passport book. This plastic layer is incorporated so that it forms the tab with which the data card is integrated into the passport book.
  • DE 10 2006 061 214 A1 describes a device with which the personal Information on the data side of otherwise finished book-like documents are printed.
  • the document is opened on the page to be printed.
  • the device has a color printing system based, for example, on the principle of the inkjet printing method.
  • the device has a lamination module that allows lamination of the surface of the data page of the passport with a holographic film.
  • EPC is the document WO 2016/131882 A1 which discloses a method and an apparatus having the features of claims 1 and 9, with the difference that the individualizing data to be applied to the booklet originates from a computer system.
  • a method and an apparatus for the production of passport products also goes from the EP 0 364 730 A2 out.
  • continuous lines are used in which single sheets (white, without artwork or watermarks) are printed and the sheets are sequentially stacked on top of each other.
  • the data page is only personalized on the finished passport.
  • this is disadvantageous because the subsequent lamination for covering the personalizing print data on the data page does not allow secure connection of the lamination foil to the data page, so that detachment of this foil remains possible and the document can then easily be falsified.
  • the known methods and devices for producing book-like identification documents have the disadvantage that the devices are very large, since the book pages are stacked on an elongated gathering path as in conventional book or magazine production. As a result, these systems are very large and therefore complex and space consuming.
  • the problem arises that a quick change in the Production of book-like documents with different book components, ie, for example, with different binding covers and / or book pages with different printing substrate (artwork) or varying number of books to be included, is practically not possible. In this case, the system must be emptied before the conversion and then converted. This requires time and manpower, so that increased costs and longer production times for the individual batches are to be accepted. If, for the sake of a short production time, several systems are provided for the different types of documents, the problem of increased costs arises in any case.
  • the present invention is based on the following objects: to provide a flexible manufacturing method that allows the production of different types of book-type identification documents, in particular also with changing (fluctuating) capacity utilization; Creation of a defect-resistant manufacturing process with which the committee of the book-like identification documents is to be minimized; To provide a small and compact manufacturing device, with which different types of book-like identification documents without conversion can be produced; Creation of a manufacturing process that requires only a short lead time to produce the book-type identification documents.
