Definitions
- the invention relates to a hybrid ice drill for producing a borehole in ice and snow for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing.
- the invention further relates to a use of the hybrid ice drill for producing the borehole in ice and snow for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing.
- Ice drills which have a drill shank made of metal and a spiral-shaped drill helix made of plastic.
- the spiral drill helix can, for example, be positively connected to the drill shaft, or the drill shaft is extrusion-coated with the plastic of the spiral drill helix.
- Such hybrid ice drills are characterized in particular by their low weight and their corrosion resistance.
- the shape of the drill helix can be restricted by the extrusion coating in a corresponding molding tool, which can influence the drilling result.
- WO 2017/016890 A1 describes a full metal ice drill.
- EP 2 875 886 A1 describes a twist drill with a continuous shaft made of metal.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an alternative ice drill of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized in particular by a low weight and enables an improved drilling result.
- a hybrid ice drill for producing a borehole in ice and snow for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing.
- the hybrid ice drill comprises a drill shaft and a drill helix with spirals in a spiral expansion direction and with grooves in a spiral expansion direction, the drill helix coaxially surrounding the drill shaft in regions.
- the drill shaft is made of a metal
- the drill helix is made of a plastic, the helices each having a constant cross section along their spiral direction of expansion.
- the spiral drill helix with its spirals and grooves can be produced in particular by machining, for example by milling. Due to the machining, the shape of the drill helix is subject to fewer restrictions than with the overmolding of a drill shank known from the prior art Plastic in an appropriate mold. In particular, the machining of the drill helix enables the constant cross-section of the helix to be formed, with the constant cross-section achieving a particularly good drilling result.
- the hybrid ice drill By producing the drill helix from plastic, the hybrid ice drill can have a particularly low weight. As a result, the ice drill can be easily transported and driven by means of an electric drill with particularly low energy expenditure. Furthermore, the particularly light hybrid ice drill according to the present invention is characterized in that the helixes of the drill helix are not sharp-edged. This enables a good drilling result to be achieved with a borehole that has only a slight expansion even when the hybrid ice drill is tilted during a drilling process.
- the drill shaft only partially penetrates the drill helix in the axial direction.
- a comparatively long drill shaft does not extend in a known manner between axial end regions of the drill helix facing away from one another and beyond, but the comparatively short drill shaft according to the present embodiment of the invention protrudes only a small distance from the first end region of the drill helix Inside the drill helix.
- the first end region of the drill helix is located on that side of the hybrid ice drill on which clamping in a drill chuck in a drilling machine is provided.
- the drill shaft is axially fixed in an axial receptacle of the drill helix and is rotationally fixed in the receptacle by means of a first axial tooth profile of the drill shaft and by means of a corresponding second tooth profile of the axial receptacle of the drill helix.
- This embodiment enables a particularly reliable transmission of torques from a drilling machine via its drill chuck and via the particularly simple manner Drill shaft of the hybrid ice drill on its drill helix and on a connected blade element (see below).
- an overall length of the ice drill can be less than 470 mm.
- the hybrid ice drill according to the invention thus builds smaller than ice drills known from the prior art, which can typically have a length of 540 mm and more.
- this enables the hybrid ice drill according to this embodiment of the invention to be carried particularly comfortably on a belt of a user of the hybrid ice drill, the length according to this embodiment being sufficient to provide a sufficiently deep bore for slalom and net poles to provide.
- the drill helix is made of a plastic which is reinforced with glass fibers, carbon fibers or with similar fillers. This choice of materials enables a particularly high breaking strength, corrosion resistance and resilience of the drill helix to be achieved, as is required of the hybrid ice drill, in particular when producing a borehole in ice and snow, for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing
- the coils each comprise a leading edge, which is in each case arranged in particular on a side of the coil in question facing the direction of advance of the ice drill, and a trailing edge which is in each case arranged in particular on a side of the coil concerned which is remote from the direction of advance of the ice drill.
- the respective leading edge can be rounded or beveled.
- the respective rear edge can also be rounded off or be provided with a chamfer.
- the helixes can merge into an adjacent groove. This also enables a particularly smooth surface of a hole drilled by means of the ice drill.
- the ice drill according to the first aspect of the invention can further comprise a blade element which is fastened to the drill helix on a side of the drill helix facing away from the drill shank.
- the blade element is used in particular to prepare material to be drilled, in particular particularly hard material, which could be drilled by the drill helix only with great effort or not at all, by cutting for the material removal by means of the drill helix.
- the blade element can be detachably fastened in order to enable the blade element to be replaced by a blade element of a different size, in order, for example, to be able to drill holes with diameters of different sizes.
- the blade element can have at least two blades which are separated from one another by an air gap in the fastened state.
- a first of the blades can be attached to a free end of a first coil
- a second of the blades can be attached to a free end of a second coil.
- the air gap can be chosen to be very narrow, for example 1 mm or less.
- the two blades can also be tip-shaped, with corresponding tips in particular converging in order to make it easier to position the drill.
- the blade element, in particular its blade or blades can also be made of a hard metal in order to achieve a particularly good cutting result with little wear.
- the drill shaft forms a pin at a freely tapering end for receiving in a chuck of an electric drill for driving the hybrid ice drill.
- the free tapering end of the drill shaft can have an outer contour suitable for being received in the drill chuck.
- the hybrid ice drill can include a protective cap for the blade element.
- the protective cap can in particular be shaped and set up in such a way that it can be pushed over the blade element, so that at least the sharp blades of the blade element are covered by the protective cap. This can help to protect a person who transports the hybrid ice drill from injuries; or other objects that are transported together with the drill (e.g. in a backpack).
- the hybrid ice drill further comprises a protective cover for the pin for receiving in the drill chuck.
- the protective cover can in particular be shaped and set up so that it can be pushed at least partially, preferably completely, over the pin, so that the pin can be protected against damage during transport. This can help to protect a person who transports the hybrid ice drill from injuries; or other objects that are transported together with the drill (e.g. in a backpack).
- an ice drill according to the first aspect of the invention for producing a borehole in ice and snow for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing is proposed.
- Fig. 1 shows a hybrid ice drill 1 with a drill shaft 2 and with a drill helix 3.
- the drill helix 3 comprises two spiral helices 4 and 5 and two spiral grooves 6 and 7, which run between the helices 4 and 5.
- Both the spirals 4 and 5 and the grooves 6 and 7 extend in a spiral direction of expansion along the longitudinal axis L of the hybrid ice drill 1.
- the spirals 4 and 5 each have a constant cross section along their spiral direction of expansion.
- the coils 4, 5 can each merge rounded into an adjacent groove 6, 7. This enables a particularly smooth surface of a hole drilled by means of the hybrid ice drill 1.
- the hybrid ice drill 1 is set up and is used to produce a borehole in ice and snow for receiving and anchoring slalom and net poles for skiing.
- the drill helix 3 with its helices 4, 5 and grooves 6, 7 can have a length of 426 mm, for example.
- the drill helix 3 is made of a plastic, in particular a plastic which is reinforced with glass fibers, carbon fibers or with similar fillers.
- the drill shaft 2 is made of a metal, e.g. made of steel or a light metal such as aluminum.
- part of the essentially cylindrical drill shaft 2 is received in a corresponding axial receptacle in the form of an axial bore in the drill helix 3.
- the drill helix 3, in particular 426 mm in the exemplary embodiment shown, is substantially longer than the drill shaft 2, which can be shorter than 120 mm, for example, so that the Drill shaft 2 only partially penetrates drill bit 3 in axial direction L.
- the drill helix 3 thus coaxially surrounds the drill shaft 2 in regions.
- the drill shaft 2 forms a pin 9 for receiving in a chuck of an electric drill (not shown) for driving the hybrid ice drill 1, the pin 9 has an outer contour suitable for receiving in the chuck.
- the free-running ends 8 of the drill shank 2 which are not accommodated in the holder of the drill helix 3 can have a length of 43 mm in the exemplary embodiment shown.
- the drill shaft 2 is axially fixed in the axial receptacle of the drill helix 3. Furthermore, the drill shaft 2 is rotatably received in the receptacle.
- the drill shank 2 has a first axial tooth profile 10 on its outer lateral surface (cf. Fig. 5 ).
- An inner surface of the receptacle of the drill helix 3 has a second axial tooth profile (not visible), which corresponds to the first axial tooth profile 10 of the drill shaft 2.
- the drill shaft 2 is received in the receptacle of the drill helix 3 in such a way that the first tooth profile 10 of the drill shaft 2 engages with the second tooth profile of the drill helix 3, so that the drill shaft 2 and the drill helix 3 are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the through Fig. 5 The drill shank 2 shown has an outer first axial region which comprises the pin 9, a middle second axial region which comprises the first tooth profile 10 and an outer third axial region which is intended to be received in the receptacle of the drill helix 3 become.
- a blade element 11 with a first blade 12 and with a second blade 13 is fastened to the drill helix 3 on a side of the drill helix 3 facing away from the drill shank 2.
- the blade element 11 serves in particular to prepare material to be drilled by cutting for conveying by means of the drill helix 3.
- the blades 12, 13 of the blade element 11 are made of a hard metal and are detachably fastened to a free end of the helices 4, 5 by means of releasable fastening means 14 to 17. This enables the blades 12, 13 to be replaced by other blades (not shown) of different sizes, for example in order to be able to drill bores with diameters of different sizes.
- the two blades 12, 13 are separated from one another by an air gap 18 in the fastened state.
- the air gap 18 can be chosen to be very narrow, e.g. 1 mm or less.
- the air gap 18 can achieve that when the hybrid ice drill 1 is used, an annular region is cut by the two blades 12, 13.
- the two blades 12, 13 can furthermore be tip-shaped, with corresponding tips 19, 20 in particular converging in order to facilitate attachment of the hybrid ice drill 1.
- the coils 4, 5 each have a leading edge 21 and a trailing edge 22, the leading edges 21 and the trailing edges 22 each being provided with a chamfer 23 and 24, respectively.

Description
-
US 3 372 763 A beschreibt einen Steinbohrer mit einem durchgängigen Schaft aus Metall. -
WO 2017/016890 A1 beschreibt einen Eisbohrer aus Vollmetall. -

Fig. 5 ).
