Definitions
- This invention is related to the prosthesis groups used for the reconstruction of tissue lost as the result of the unrepairable loss of bony tissue in body parts due to various reasons. Background Of The Invention
- a knee arthrodesis implant is mentioned in the American patent document No. US2013/0282131 available in current art.
- This implant is composed of a femur nail having a first end for insertion into a bone marrow canal of a femur and a second, opposite end having a femur nail neck; a tibia nail having a first end for insertion into a bone marrow canal of a tibia and a second, opposite end having a tibia nail neck; and a connecting module having two longitudinally separated half shells that when connected form a longitudinally extending passage through the connecting module; wherein a first end of the connecting module is coupled to the femur nail neck and a second, opposite end of the connecting module is coupled to the tibia nail neck; wherein the two half shells each have a plurality of corresponding recesses that extend through the
- stems are inserted to the bone marrow canal by using nailing method. Therefore it is difficult to implement and depth control is weak. A locking screw is needed for preventing rotation of the stem within the bone. This operation requires additional incision and time.
- Connecting modules are composed of two parts. Special parts are needed for each connecting module in order to connect connective modules to the stems. The production process is extended since there are many parts. After inserting stems into bone marrow canal, controlled and stable angular adjustment cannot be ensured. In order to eliminate the possibility of axial displacement of stems within the connecting module, only compression forces are used and dimensional accuracy cannot be ensured.
- the purpose of this invention is to develop an endoprosthesis system with the features such as ease of application, depth control and self-locking inside the bone.
- Another purpose of the invention is to develop an endoprosthesis system that will reduce the amount of incisions and shorten the operation period.
- Another purpose of the invention is to develop an endoprosthesis system wherein the material quantity is reduced.
- Another purpose of the invention is to develop an endoprosthesis system wherein the angular positions of the bone parts that are desired to be combined can be adjusted accurately and adjusted angular position remains stable during the compression of stems (3) with the connecting module (1).
- Another purpose of the invention is to develop an endoprosthesis system wherein the axial displacement of stem (3) within the connecting module (1) is prevented and measurement accuracy can be maintained.
- stems (3) are inserted into bone marrow canal by using screwing method. Elimination of the need for locking screw for locking reduces the amount of incision to be applied on the patient and shortens the operation period.
- Connecting module cover (2) parts can be used commonly for different sizes of connecting modules (1) in different diameters regardless of whether they are right or left.
- Angle adjustment canals (6) are on the stem (3) and angle adjustment notch is on the connecting module (1).
- the system also contains guiding canals (8).
- Figure - 1 is the general view of the invention.
- Figure - 2 is the general view of the invention.
- Figure- 3 is the view of the invention extended with a connector (4).
- Figure- 4 is the view of the invention extended with a connector (4).
- Figure - 5 is angular connecting module (10) view.
- Figure - 6 is angular connecting module (10) view.
- Figure- 7 is the view of the invention extended with a connector (4).
- Figure- 8 is the view of the invention extended with a connector (4).
- the system can be used for remedying deficiencies in bone shaft, epiphysis and therefore joint deficiencies.
- Flat connecting module (1) is used for bone shaft deficiencies and angular connecting module (10) is used for joint deficiencies.
- the system is composed of various components.
- the connecting module (1) is the component that is implanted for replacing the lost bony tissue.
- Connecting module cover (2) is the component that is used for compressing the stem (3) inserted on the connecting module (1).
- Stem (3) is the component that is inserted into the bony tissue in order to be supported by adjacent bony tissues for implanting connecting module (1) components.
- Connector (4) is the component used for combining more than one connecting module (1) components in cases where the bony tissue loss is more than the product dimensions.
- Cover screws (5) are bolds used for connecting the connecting module (1) and connecting module cover (2) to each other and tightening stems (39.
- an operation area is created by performing the necessary incision for the surgery.
- Infected or undesired bony tissues are removed within certain extents determined before the surgery.
- Stems (3) are inserted into marrow canals of solid bony tissues in order to support the connecting module (1).
- Stems (3) are inserted into bones by using screwing method.
- Stems (3) are screwed into the bony tissue thanks to the stem helical teeth (12) on the stems (3) and therefore stem's (3) adhesion on the boy tissue is ensured. Since stem helical teeth (12) have double ends, it is ensured that stems (3) advance rapidly within the bony tissue without reducing stem's (3) diameters.
- Helical stem canals (11) are opened on the stem (3) in order to facilitate screwing of stems (3) on the bony tissue by creating sharp surfaces and not creating any pressure inside the bony tissue.
- the endoprosthesis system that is composed of the smallest stem (3) of the endothesis stem (3) group with the diameter of 08 mm and length of 90 mm and connecting module (1) with the smallest diameter available in endothesis connecting module (1) group with the diameter of 021 mm and length of 65 mm can be used with torsional moment of 42000 Nmm and pressing force of 325 N as stipulated under ASTM F 1264-3 standard.
- Connecting module (1) is inserted on the portions of stems (3) remaining outside the bony tissue.
- connection module (1) is rotated 180° and positioned so that the connecting module clearances (9) remain at the top.
- Stems (3) inside the bone which are adjusted to desired angle thanks to angle adjustment canals (6) on the stems (3) and angle adjustment notch (7) inside the connecting module cover (2), are fixed thanks to connecting module covers (2).
- Cover screws (5) are used for fixing.
- Each connecting module cover (2) is connected to the connecting module (1) and angular connecting module (10) by means of 4 cover screws (5).
- Stems (3) are inserted into bone marrow canal by using screwing method. Therefore features such as ease of application, depth control and self-locking inside the bone are brought. Elimination of the need for locking screw for locking reduces the amount of incision to be applied on the patient and shortens the operation period.
- Connecting module cover (2) parts can be used commonly for different sizes of connecting modules (1) in different diameters regardless of whether they are right or left. Use of common materials reduces the amount of materials used.
- Angular positions of the bone parts that are desired to be combined can be adjusted accurately and adjusted angular position remains stable during the compression of stems (3) with the connecting module (1) thanks to the angle adjustment canals (6) on the stems (3) and angle adjustment notch (7) inside the connecting module (1).
- Axial displacement of stem (3) within the connecting module (1) is prevented and measurement accuracy can be maintained thanks to guiding canals (8).
- Guiding canals (8) has the same dimensions for all diameter and length options of endoprosthesis connecting module (1) and angular connecting module (10).
- stems (3) in every diameter and length can run in harmony with all connecting modules (1) and angular connecting modules (10).
- chips and injectable bone graft can be placed inside the connecting modules (1) and angular connecting modules (10) in order to accelerate bone formation.
- This invention is related to the diaphyseal and arthrodesis endoprosthesis system used for the reconstruction of lost tissue as the result of the unrepairable loss of bony tissue in body parts due to various reasons comprising of a connecting module (1) or angular connecting module (10) implanted for replacing loss bony tissue, a connecting module cover (2) used for tightening the stem (3) installed on a connecting module (1) or angular connecting module (10), a stem (3) inserted into the bony tissue by using screwing method in order to get support from adjacent bony tissues for implanting a connecting module (1) or angular connecting module (10) parts, cover screws (5) used for connecting a connecting module (1) or angular connecting module (10) parts with each other, wherein a connector (4) is used for combining more than one connecting module (1) components in cases where the bony tissue loss in more than the product dimensions; wherein the stems (3) contain angle adjustment canals (6); wherein the connecting module cover (2) contains an angle adjustment notch (7); wherein there is at least one guiding canal (8) inside the
