Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for treating laundry items in a washing machine.
  • treatment agents When treating items of laundry in a washing machine, chemical laundry treatment agents (hereinafter sometimes abbreviated to “treatment agents”) are generally used, which can have different compositions depending on the intended use or intended effect.
  • a laundry treatment agent or treatment agent e.g. a detergent or a fabric softener, usually contains several components that have different functions when treating laundry in the washing machine, e.g. when washing items of laundry.
  • laundry treatment agents have been used in the form of their finished mixtures in liquid or powder form. However, particularly powerful ingredients can interact with each other, so it would make sense to separate these ingredients to a certain extent before coming into contact with laundry items.
  • a detergent pad has at least one chamber enclosed by a water-soluble film, the detergent pad containing at least one liquid or powdered laundry treatment agent in the chamber(s).
  • the detergent pads at generally increased prices, allow easier dosing of the treatment agent and, moreover, a separation of ingredients that may not be very compatible.
  • the films sometimes do not dissolve very quickly. In some cases there are even film residues towards the end of a washing phase.
  • the washing pads sometimes slip into the door rubber, ie the sleeve of the drum, and then sometimes only come into contact with water again during a rinsing phase. This can be done under Very unfavorable circumstances can lead to slimy residues still appearing in the laundry items even at the end of the rinsing phase.
  • EP 3042991 A1 A washing machine and a method for operating the washing machine are disclosed, in which a container containing laundry treatment agent can be introduced into a drum in one step.
  • washing machine and an operating method of this washing machine comprising a container and an electrochemical sensor is in WO 2016/146313 A1 disclosed, wherein the method comprises a step of measuring an electrochemical signal depending on a composition of an aqueous liquid in the container.
  • a method for treating laundry in a washing machine with a pump for conveying suds is in EP 2261413 A1 disclosed.
  • WO 2009/033617 A1 discloses a laundry treatment agent-containing container that is water-soluble.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an improved method for treating laundry items in a washing machine, which is particularly suitable when using detergent pads.
  • substantially horizontal here means that there can generally be deviations from the horizontal of up to 25%, preferably up to 15%.
  • the aqueous liquid is not restricted according to the invention. However, since in the present invention this is to be used for treating and in particular for washing items of laundry, it will be as clean as possible water. Water from a water supply to the washing machine, i.e. tap water, is therefore particularly preferred. However, the aqueous liquid can also be, for example, rinsing liquid stored in the washing machine from, for example, the last rinse cycle.
  • Process step c) advantageously ensures that there is no significant redistribution of the laundry items and the container within the drum.
  • the container thus remains in a location within the drum where the container can be repeatedly washed around by the aqueous liquid. The movement of the aqueous liquid or the flushing around it creates additional friction on the container, which promotes rapid dissolution of the container.
  • the predetermined minimum value h min is selected so that at least the drum comes into contact with the aqueous liquid or pumping around with a pumping system is made possible, pumping around requiring that so much aqueous liquid is contained in the pumping system is sufficient to transfer the liquid pumped out of the tub into the tub via a pumping line attributed.
  • the container which is introduced into a lower region of the drum in step a), comes into contact early with the liquid level specified in this way.
  • the minimum value h min of the liquid level is preferably selected so that it is above a container inserted in the lower drum.
  • the washing machine has the pumping line and a pump which is used to transport an aqueous liquid, and in step (c), the aqueous liquid is pumped through the Circulation pump line moves.
  • the pumping is generally carried out using a suitable pump.
  • a pump contained in the washing machine used, which is used to transport an aqueous liquid, can also be used for this purpose.
  • the pumping system means that the already dissolved laundry treatment agent is advantageously distributed in the aqueous liquid.
  • the pumping also creates a movement of the aqueous liquid in the area around the detergent pad.
  • the predetermined period of time t set is preferably in a range of 1.5 to 5 minutes.
  • the period of time t set is selected such that it is sufficient to essentially dissolve the container containing the laundry treatment agent and to distribute the laundry treatment agent in the aqueous liquid. This advantageously ensures that the laundry treatment agent is provided early in the washing process and essentially completely. Furthermore, this prevents residues of laundry treatment agent from appearing in a rinsing phase that were not previously dissolved in the washing phase.
  • step (c) the drum is reversed with a predetermined Amplitude A T is carried out, which is smaller than 180°, preferably smaller than 150°, more preferably smaller than 120° and in particular in the range from 70° to 110°, the amplitude A T being the maximum deflection of the drum in degrees ("°") during a reversing step.
  • the drum is moved in step (c) at a speed which corresponds to a speed of the drum in the range of 25 to 35 revolutions / min. The speed should preferably be less than or equal to 50 revolutions / min.
  • the maximum deflection of the drum depends on the selected speed of the drum, whereby a low speed of the drum can be selected for a small amplitude A T and a high speed can be selected for a large amplitude A T.
  • This has the advantage that the control times for the drive motor do not become too short or the drive motor does not have to provide excessive drive torque in order to enable the otherwise required rotational acceleration of the drum.
  • a method is also preferred in which the drum stands still during the filling of the aqueous liquid in step (b).
  • a method is also preferred in which the amount of water W is selected as a function of a load L of laundry items, with a relationship between W and L being stored in the control device.
  • step (c) is selected depending on a load L of the laundry items, with a relationship between the extent of movement and L being stored in the control device.
  • the load L with laundry items can be determined, for example, by weighing the drum. Furthermore, it is possible to determine the load L based on the suction behavior of the laundry items in a wetting phase.
  • a hydrostatic pressure of the aqueous liquid in the tub is measured, in particular by using a pressure sensor, which is a measure of the aqueous liquid present as "free liquor" in the tub.
  • the amount of free liquor will be lower with the same amount of water added to the tub if there is a comparatively large amount of laundry Portion of the aqueous liquid absorbs. Based on this relationship, the amount of laundry can be determined, whereby the type of laundry items can also be taken into account. If necessary, this can be done through input from a user of the washing machine or through another determination of the type of laundry, for example using IR spectroscopy.
  • the method according to the invention generally overlaps with a wetting phase, so that the loading L can generally not be taken into account at the beginning, but only during the implementation of the method according to the invention.
  • the extent of movement in step (c) comprises an amplitude A T with which the drum is reversed, the amplitude A T being the maximum deflection of the drum in degrees during a reversing step.
  • the maximum permissible extent of movement in step (c) can be greater for larger loads L of laundry items.
  • the extent of moving the aqueous liquid in step (c) includes a pumping speed of the aqueous liquid in the pumping line.
  • the open or closed container used in step (a) of the process according to the invention generally has the function of distributing the treatment agent contained therein in the aqueous liquid.
  • the container is not restricted, so that the term "container" includes dimensionally stable containers as well as laundry pillows.
  • dimensionally stable containers are in particular open cups, the walls of which generally consist of one suitable, sufficiently thick plastic material that is insoluble in an aqueous liquid, so that dimensional stability is ensured.
  • the container is a detergent pad which has at least one chamber which is enclosed by a water-soluble film, the detergent pad containing at least one liquid or powdered laundry treatment agent in the chamber or chambers.
  • the water-soluble film consists, for example, of a polyvinyl alcohol or a derivative thereof.
  • the washing machine used in the method contains a treatment agent sensor for determining a concentration of the laundry treatment agent and in the method the distribution of the laundry treatment agent from the container in the aqueous liquid is monitored using the treatment agent sensor in order to achieve a predetermined distribution of the laundry treatment agent in the aqueous liquid to determine.
  • the “predetermined distribution” can be chosen so that all laundry treatment agent has been distributed from the container. When using a laundry pad, this means in particular that the water-soluble film has largely or completely dissolved, so that the laundry treatment agent contained in the chamber(s) of the laundry pad could completely get into the aqueous liquid.
  • the treatment agent sensor can fulfill this function, it is not restricted according to the invention. This can be, for example, an electrochemical sensor or an optical sensor, since many laundry treatment agents are colored.
  • the aqueous liquid is filled via a sleeve of the washing machine, ie the aqueous liquid is fed directly to the laundry.
  • the liquid can be guided via a water path which is connected to the cuff and preferably not routed via an induction bowl.
  • the water path can also be routed via a pre-wash chamber of a dispenser bowl. This can also be used in the event of a usage error when using a detergent pad, namely if the detergent pad is between or on top of the laundry instead of under it was placed on the items of laundry, a detergent pad located there is reached by the aqueous liquid and the laundry treatment agent is released after the film has dissolved.
  • the method according to the invention can be selected separately by a user of the washing machine via its operating unit. This advantageously makes it possible for the user to select a washing program adapted to his laundry treatment agent. Alternatively, the method according to the invention can be integrated into washing programs that are particularly suitable for the use of detergent pads.
  • the washing machine which has a tub, a drum rotatably mounted in the tub about a substantially horizontal axis for receiving items of laundry and a control device, and in particular its control device is set up to carry out a method for treating items of laundry, which comprises the steps of the method according to the invention .
  • the washing machine can be a washing machine itself or a washer-dryer, i.e. a device that also has a drying facility.
  • the washing machine has a pump that is used to transport an aqueous liquid and a pumping line.
  • the pumping line is generally part of a pumping system, which also has a pumping pump.
  • This can be the pump that is also used for pumping out and thus disposing of washing suds.
  • the operation of this pump would be suitably controlled, for example with the aid of a three-way valve, so that a choice can be made between pumping over and pumping out.
  • there can also be two pumps for example, one of which is only used in the pumping system, while the other pump is only used for pumping out used washing suds or rinsing liquid.
  • the pumping system provided in this embodiment is designed in such a way that it can bring an aqueous liquid present in the tub into contact with the laundry items in the drum.
  • the pumping system essentially serves to distribute laundry treatment agent in the aqueous liquid, for example by supporting the dissolution of detergent pads.
  • the pumping system is also advantageously used in a washing phase, in which an aqueous liquid generally containing detergent is then repeatedly brought into contact with items of laundry to be cleaned.
  • a washing machine used here generally also has a heater and a drain system with a drain pump arranged at the bottom of the tub.
  • a washing machine used herein generally also has laundry carriers and/or scoop devices.
  • a temperature sensor is arranged in the tub.
  • the temperature sensor is then arranged in a lower region of the tub, preferably in a part of the tub jacket called a radiator pocket, in which the heating device is also generally placed.
  • the invention has the advantage that the distribution of laundry treatment agents in an aqueous liquid, which can then also be referred to as washing liquor, is supported without the container containing them being moved too much and, for example, getting into a cuff of the washing machine. This is particularly important when using laundry pillows. In this case, the dissolution of the laundry pad is also supported, so that the remaining film residues in the cleaned laundry items can be completely avoided by quickly completely dissolving the laundry pad.
  • Figure 1 shows in particular a schematic representation of the parts of a washing machine suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention.
  • the schematically illustrated washing machine 1 contains in a tub 2 a drum 3 with laundry items 4 which is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis of rotation 18.
  • the washing machine 1 also has a fresh water supply device, which consists of a valve 23 that can be controlled by the control device 7 and a fresh water supply line 21.
  • the fresh water supply line 21 is guided via a metering device 22 for laundry treatment agents, i.e. a dispenser bowl 22, so that in addition to the addition of laundry treatment agent provided according to the invention, it can also be flushed from the metering device 22 into the tub 2 by means of fresh water supply via the fresh water supply line 21.
  • the aqueous liquid generally water, enters the drum 3 without prior contact with laundry treatment agent, be it via the dispenser tray 22 or a sleeve of the washing machine 1, not shown here.
  • the drum 3 can be driven by the drive motor 11.
  • the drive motor 11 is a brushless and therefore low-noise drive motor 11.

  • an aqueous liquid 6, for example water can be pumped out of the tub 2 by the drain pump 5 via the tub outlet 10 and returned to the tub 2 via the pumping line 9 and the tub inlet 14. In this way, the aqueous liquid 6 can be circulated.
  • step (c) of the method according to the invention namely moving the aqueous liquid 6 during a predetermined period of time t set > 1 min, in which the drum 3 is in a resting state or is moved in such a way that there is no rotation of the drum 3 takes place at an angle ⁇ ⁇ 180 °, possible.
  • the drain pump 5 is further connected to a wastewater pipe 13.
  • a three-way valve not shown here, which can be controlled by the control device 7, enables the pumping operation to be switched from the pumping system 5, 9, 14 to the wastewater line 13. In this way, aqueous liquid can be pumped out of the tub 2 and disposed of if necessary.
