- One aspect of the invention relates to a system comprising a composition and a toilet basket, the composition being suitable for use as a sanitary agent, and having at least one adhesion promoter, and at least one solvent, and the composition being present in at least one compartment of the toilet basket; characterized in that the total amount of solvent has a conductivity of at least 50 ⁇ S/cm; the inner chamber surface is curved and the composition adheres to a completely closed side of the chamber.
- the total amount of solvent in the composition is more preferably at least 100 ⁇ S/cm, and more preferably at least 200 ⁇ S/cm.
- the total amount of solvents refers to the amount of the solvent mixture, which includes all of the solvents contained in the composition.
- the composition has a conductivity of preferably at least 50 ⁇ S/cm, more preferably of at least 100 ⁇ S/cm, and more preferably of at least 200 ⁇ S/cm.
- the conductivity of the solvent or of the entire solvent essentially corresponds to the conductivity of the composition, since it is the solvent that forms the liquid phase of the gel and therefore has a conductivity in the sense of the invention.
- solvents are described in the prior art.
- An important example is water.
- Water can contain electrolytes or, for example after distillation followed by condensation, be essentially free of electrolytes.
- a solvent e.g. water
- this general statement does not affect the fact that the solvent according to the invention (and thus also the total amount of solvent) must contain electrolytes.
- the fact that a minimum amount of electrolytes must be present is apparent to the person skilled in the art from the fact that a minimum value for conductivity is specified.
- solvent is specified according to the invention to the effect that it must contain electrolytes in order to achieve the specified conductivity value.
- the proportion of water in the total amount of solvent is preferably at least 40 wt.%, more preferably at least 50 wt.%, or at least 70 wt.%.
- the conductivity values mentioned preferably correspond to the conductivity at standard conditions, more preferably below the solidification point or the gel formation point.
- sanitary agent is used in the sense of a “composition suitable for use as a sanitary agent”.
- an "aqueous solvent” is to be understood as a solvent comprising water.
- the term “EO” refers to alkoxy groups in general.
- the term “20 EO” means the presence of 20 alkoxy groups, which are particularly preferably present as a block in the molecule in question and are even more preferably arranged as end groups in the molecule in question.
- the term “EO” stands for the group containing ethoxy, propoxy and butoxy groups, more preferably for the group containing ethoxy and propoxy groups and particularly preferably only for ethoxy groups.

- the sanitary agent is preferably designed to be self-adhesive, i.e. the sanitary agent is suitable for adhering to surfaces independently, in particular without any additional aids.
- the adhesion promoter can either be hydrophilic overall, but preferably partially hydrophilic and partially hydrophobic, i.e. the molecules of the adhesion promoter are preferably longer-chain molecules which have at least one hydrophobic residue and further comprise a hydrophilic group which reacts with a preferably polar solvent, in particular with water. interacts.
- the adhesion promoters are preferably unbranched molecules, i.e. linear molecules. This enables the desired network formation.
- Polyalkoxy groups preferably polyethoxy, polypropoxy or polybutoxy or mixed polyalkoxy groups such as poly(ethoxypropoxy) groups can be used as hydrophilic radicals.
- a fatty alcohol alkoxylate which has both ethoxy and propoxy groups is referred to in the invention as a mixed fatty alcohol ethoxypropoxylate.
- Linear, i.e. unbranched, alkyl radicals are preferably suitable as hydrophobic radicals. This promotes the suitability for network formation. Even-numbered alkyl radicals are preferred - because of their better biodegradability. Alkyl radicals with at least more than eleven carbon atoms are particularly preferred. More preferably, the number of carbon atoms is 9 to 30, in particular 7 to 20.
- the adhesion promoter becomes more lipophilic. This makes it possible in particular to regulate the solubility of hydrophilic substances, such as fragrances or dyes.
- the adhesion promoter becomes more hydrophilic, which can in particular influence the formation of a network and the ability to form a visually appealing gel and can also have an influence on the rinsing behavior of the sanitary product.
- the type and in particular the length of the hydrophobic residue also has an impact on the lipophilicity of the adhesion promoter, with longer alkyl residues in particular increasing the hydrophobicity of the adhesion promoter.
- a suitable choice of the hydrophobic residue in particular a linear one, i.e. H. unbranched, alkyl radical on the one hand, in coordination with the degree of alkoxylation, i.e. H. the number of alkoxy groups, provide a tailor-made adhesion promoter that is optimized with regard to the rinsing behavior of the sanitary product, the adhesion to surfaces, and with regard to the solubility of hydrophobic or hydrophilic additives.
- the amount of adhesion promoter to be used also depends on its hydrophilicity and network-forming ability. This can be 20 and 60% by weight, preferably between 35 and 55% by weight and particularly preferably between 40 and 50% by weight, which is particularly preferred when using polyalkoxyalkanes.
- the composition comprises at least one fatty alcohol alkoxylate, which is preferably to be understood as an adhesion promoter and/or a nonionic surfactant.
- a fatty alcohol alkoxylate in combination with the feature that the solvent has a conductivity of at least 50 ⁇ S/cm, preferably of at least 100 ⁇ S/cm, and more preferably of at least 200 ⁇ S/cm, enables the Providing a visually attractive, transparent product in the form of a gel with good release characteristics in relation to colorants and in particular fragrances, which can be contained in the composition as additives, whereby good rinsing behavior of the agent is achieved, which would otherwise only be possible with additional use of Glycerin can be achieved.
- the agent comprises a first fatty alcohol alkoxylate with a degree of alkoxylation of 10 to 50 EO, in particular from 20 to 30 EO and a second fatty alcohol alkoxylate with a degree of alkoxylation of 5 to 15 EO.
- the agent can contain a first fatty alcohol alkoxylate with a degree of alkoxylation of 20 to 30 EO in an amount of 20 to 40% by weight, particularly preferably 25 to 35% by weight, and a second fatty alcohol alkoxylate with a degree of alkoxylation of 5 to 15 EO in an amount from 5 to 30% by weight, particularly preferably 10 to 20% by weight
- the fatty alcohol alkoxylate is a fatty alcohol ethoxylate, wherein the fatty alcohol alkoxylate has at least one ethoxy radical and/or a fatty alcohol propoxylate, wherein the fatty alcohol alkoxylate has at least one propoxy radical. More preferably, the fatty alcohol alkoxylate exclusively comprises ethoxy and/or propoxy groups as alkoxy groups. Even more preferably, the fatty alcohol alkoxylate comprises exclusively ethoxy groups as alkoxy groups.
- the alkyl radical preferably has at least 7 carbon atoms, in particular 7 to 20 carbon atoms, the alkyl radical being in particular an unbranched alkyl radical.
- the agent can also include one or more fatty acid soaps as adhesion promoters.
- the composition is preferably free of fatty acid soaps, since fatty alcohol alkoxylates have proven to be advantageous for suitable gel formation and improved rinsing behavior.
- the agent is preferably essentially free of anionic surfactants and anionic adhesion promoters.
- the sanitary agent comprises at least one or more surfactants.
- the use of surfactants in the sanitary agent can provide a cleaning effect when using the sanitary agent.
- the surfactants are able to remove residual dirt on toilet surfaces when flushing.
- the use of surfactants in sanitary products can serve to enable or optimize the solubility of hydrophobic or hydrophilic additives.
- Nonionic surfactants are preferred.
- Polyalkoxy groups preferably polyethoxy, polypropoxy or polybutoxy or even mixed polyalkoxy groups such as poly(ethoxypropoxy) groups can be used as hydrophilic residues of the nonionic surfactants.

- Linear, i.e. unbranched, alkyl radicals are preferably suitable as hydrophobic radicals.
- Alkyl radicals with more than 5 carbon atoms are preferred. More preferably, the number of carbon atoms is 5 to 20, in particular 9 to 12 carbon atoms.
- the one or more surfactants are only nonionic surfactants.
- the composition in this embodiment only has nonionic surfactants and does not contain any charged surfactants such as anionic, cationic or amphoteric surfactants.
- the type and amount of solvent depends, among other things, on the hydrophilicity of the adhesion promoter used and can be varied accordingly.
- the solvent should be contained in the agent at least 20% by weight, preferably between 35 and 65% by weight.
- the solvent is preferably a polar solvent, more preferably an aqueous solvent, and in particular water.
- the agent comprises water in an amount of between 40 and 60% by weight, more particularly in an amount of 45% by weight to 60% by weight, and more particularly in an amount of 52% by weight to 57% by weight.
- the solvent preferably has a conductivity of at least 100 ⁇ S/cm, more preferably of at least 200 ⁇ S/cm and more preferably of at least 400 ⁇ S/cm. According to further embodiments, the solvent has a conductivity of at least 800 ⁇ S/cm or in particular of at least 1000 ⁇ S/cm or at least 1500 ⁇ S/cm.
- the conductivity is preferably the electrolytic conductivity of the solvent or the electrical conductivity of the solvent in the sense of an electrolyte solution. This is preferably the proportionality constant between the electrical current density and the electrical field strength.
- the composition is preferably free of glycerin.
- the composition preferably does not contain any polyhydroxy compound or its ether, in particular no compound selected from the group of glycerol, 1,3-dihydroxypropane, 1,3- or 1,4-dihydroxybutane, 1,3-dihydroxyisobutane, pentaerythritol or between 1 and 20 % by weight, preferably between 5 and 15% by weight and particularly preferably between 7 and 13% by weight of an aliphatic di-, oligo- or polyhydroxy compound or their ethers.

- the agent preferably comprises preservatives. Such preservatives are available, for example, under the trade names Acticide B 20, Acticide MBR 1 and Acticide SR 1500.
- the agent preferably comprises, as preservatives, one or more from the group containing isothiazolinone, phenoxyethanol, methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone (BIT).
- BIT benzisothiazolinone
- the sanitary products are preferably designed as gels.
- Such gels preferably have a different micro- or nanostructure than conventional sanitary products, which, particularly in the case of toilet stones, not only leads to a special optical appearance due to the transparency of the gel, but also enables a uniform release of additives such as dyes and, in particular, fragrance compositions.
- a further aspect of the invention relates to the production of the system according to the invention, comprising the steps of (a) making the sanitary agent flowable by heating, (b) introducing the agent into the basket and (c) cooling the agent, whereby the composition hardens.
- the chamber shell of the toilet basket is completely closed on at least one side and the composition is adhered to the completely closed side of the chamber shell.
- Toilet baskets When using transparent toilet baskets, inadequate rinsing behavior from the inner chamber surface of the toilet basket leads to unsightly, unevenly distributed gel residues on the surface of the chamber.
- Toilet baskets usually have a strongly curved or curved inner chamber surface (for example in spherical toilet baskets). Compared to the relatively smooth and uncurved surfaces of toilet bowls, to which sanitary products can be attached directly without toilet baskets, a more pronounced residue formation can be observed when using toilet baskets with a self-adhesive gel. An improvement in rinsing behavior is therefore necessary, especially when used with a toilet basket.
- the chamber shell is preferably designed as a sphere, i.e. spherical, with the chamber shell consisting in one piece or in two pieces of a first hemisphere and a second hemisphere, which respectively represent a first side of the chamber shell and a second side of the chamber shell.
- the first side can be referred to as the front, i.e. the side that is accessible or visible when in use and facing away from the toilet bowl wall, while the second side can be referred to as the back, i.e. the side that is not immediately accessible or visible in the state of use and the toilet bowl wall and what runs along it Side facing rinsing water.
- the above division of the chamber shell into two sides can also be transferred to other chamber shell geometries, e.g. rectangular chamber shell geometries.
- the front of the chamber shell preferably has no opening. On the one hand, this prevents a child or pet from coming into contact with an active substance present in the chamber. Furthermore, because the first side of the chamber shell has no opening, the active substance can be filled into the basket during the manufacturing process through an opening on the second side. In the case of toilet baskets with one or more openings on the first side, the active substance would not remain in the basket during filling but would run through it.
- a toilet basket according to the described embodiment can advantageously be filled with an active substance, with the substance only solidifying after filling. It is therefore not necessary for the active substance to be preformed into the desired geometry (eg a sphere) and only then introduced into the chamber.
- composition according to the invention E1 and a comparison composition C1 were provided. All values are given in percent by weight based on the total amount of the composition.
- the comparison composition C1 contained glycerin, while glycerin was completely omitted in the compositions E1, E2 and E3 according to the invention.
- the amount of glycerin was divided proportionately among the other components of the compositions (fatty alcohol ethoxylate and water), that is, instead of the 10 percent by weight of additional glycerin, on the one hand Amount of water and on the other hand the amount of fatty alcohol ethoxylate increases proportionally.
- “Cremophor A25” is a fatty alcohol ethoxylate with C16 and C18 alkyl residues and 25 ethoxy units.
- Empilan is a fatty alcohol ethoxylate with C9 to C12 alkyl residues and 8 ethoxy units
- compositions C1 and E1, E2, and E3 were tested for their adhesion behavior, their ability to harden on cooling, their temperature stability and their rinsing behavior.
- compositions that are made from the EP 1 086 199 B1 are known
- the formation of a white crusty surface from poorly soluble residues is known to be avoided if the agent comprises glycerin.
- Good rinsing behavior was also observed in the case of the comparison composition C1.
- the compositions according to the invention E1, E2 and E3 surprisingly showed a similarly advantageous rinsing behavior as the composition C1.
- this can also be achieved without the use of glycerin.
- the inventors attribute this to the electrolyte-containing solvent (here water), and it is assumed that the ions it contains have a beneficial effect on the network formation within the gel.
- compositions E1, E2 and E3 according to the invention it was also observed that they solidified or hardened more quickly. There is no need for additional cooling to harden the gel. The resulting reduced energy consumption causes lower costs and enables more ecological and efficient large-scale industrial production of sanitary products.
