Definitions
- the invention relates to a drive unit for automotive applications, in particular an electromotive opening drive unit as part of a motor vehicle lock, preferably a motor vehicle door lock, with an electromotive drive for acting on an actuating element, and with a manually actuable manipulation element, which at least in the engaged position with the drive its reversing is set up.
- the drive unit can be a power window drive, seat or mirror adjustment, a sliding door drive, a tank locking and unlocking mechanism, a tailgate drive, but also a drive unit that can be used, for example, to charge a charging plug in an electric or hybrid vehicle locked to a charging socket.
- the control element has different characteristics.
- the actuating element in a window lifter drive may be a cable pull.
- the adjusting element for a seat or mirror adjustment can be designed as an adjusting pin. If locking and unlocking of a plug of an electric charging infrastructure in an electric or hybrid motor vehicle is considered, the actuating element may be designed as a locking pin.
- electromotive opening drive units are preferably, but not exclusively, considered as components of a motor vehicle lock and preferably a motor vehicle door lock.
- the electric motor drive typically works directly or indirectly on a pawl as an actuator. With the help of the electric motor drive, the pawl is lifted from its engagement with the rotary latch for this purpose, for example when the motor vehicle door lock is opened electrically. As a result, the rotary latch can open with the help of a spring.
- a motor vehicle lock and in particular a motor vehicle door lock or electric lock fails the electric motor drive due to a defect, for example, an additional mechanical connection between, for example, an outer door handle or inner door handle and the locking mechanism is often required in such an emergency or malfunction manufactured. In principle, this can also happen and be carried out in the event of a crash.
- the State of the art according to DE 20 2012 008 326 U1 proposes a motor vehicle door that has a manipulation element on its outside that is therefore accessible and can be acted upon. With the help of the manipulation element, a security unit can be controlled into the “secured” and “unsecured” positions.
- the security unit is typically a central locking system.
- a movable pin is provided as a manually actuable manipulation element, which allows mechanical opening from the outside by rotating about its longitudinal axis in malfunction mode.
- the invention is based on the technical problem of further developing such a drive unit for motor vehicle applications in such a way that a cost-effective, simply constructed and weight-reduced embodiment is made available.
- a specially designed manipulation element that can be acted upon manually is used first of all.
- This manipulation element is consistently in its basic position. In the basic position, the manipulation element cannot reverse the drive or, in principle, cannot interact with the drive. To do this, the manipulation element must first be transferred from the basic position to the engagement position in order to reverse the drive. Only when the manipulation element is in the engagement position in relation to the electric motor drive is it also possible to reverse the electric motor drive or generally interact with the electric motor drive.
- the motor vehicle door lock closed in an emergency in this way with the aid of the manipulation element can of course be opened again if the electric motor drive fails, for example via an external or internal actuating lever chain. In the simplest case, this can take place and be carried out via an outside door handle or possibly also a lock cylinder or a mechanical manipulation element.
- the invention is of course not limited to motor vehicle locks and in particular motor vehicle door locks.
- any of the previously described drive units for motor vehicle applications can be reversed with the aid of the manipulation element if the electric motor drive fails.
- a window lifter drive can be acted upon using the manually actuable manipulation element in such a way that a window that is not completely closed, for example, is closed in this way manually using the manipulation element.
- a seat adjustment that has failed, for example, can also be adjusted manually with the aid of the manipulation element that can be acted upon manually to the extent that a seat position that is acceptable at least in the medium term can be set up in this way. This is where the main advantages can be seen.
- the manipulation element is transferred from the basic position to the engaged position manually and against spring force. This means that the manipulation element is acted upon entirely manually.
- the procedure is usually such that the manipulation element is moved essentially perpendicularly to a drive plane spanned by the drive in order to change from the basic position to the engaged position. In this way it is ensured that the manipulation element in the basic position of the spanned by the drive Drive level is spaced.
- the manipulation element does not have to be “carried along” when the drive is actuated by an electric motor.
- the electric motor drive can consequently be dimensioned in such a way that only the movements of the actuating element have to be implemented. This reduces the cost of the electric motor drive and its weight.
- the manipulation element is largely designed in two parts and is composed of an actuating element and an engagement element.
- the actuating element and the engagement element are designed in one piece for reasons of cost.
- an embodiment as a one-piece plastic injection-molded part has proven to be particularly favorable for realizing both the actuating element and the engagement element. This keeps the costs low and also the weight.
- the design is usually such that the actuating element in the basic position is essentially flush with a cover on the head side. As a result, the actuating element can be manipulated properly on the one hand and protected attachment in or behind the cover is realized on the other hand.
- the cover can be a connecting plate between the outer door plate and inner door plate of a motor vehicle door. If one considers a drive unit as a power window drive, then the cover may be designed as the interior paneling of the motor vehicle door.
- the actuating element is usually equipped with an actuating opening for engaging a manipulation tool.
- the manipulation tool can be a screwdriver, a coin, a key, etc.
- the manipulation element is according to the invention for the transition from the basic position to the engaged position by pressing against the applied force of a spring.
- the actual reversing using the manipulation element that can be acted upon manually corresponds to the manipulation element being rotated using the relevant manipulation tool.
- the reversing takes place in the engaged position against the force of the spring.
- the manipulation element resumes its basic position.
- the spring thus ensures a restoring movement of the manipulation element from its engaged position to the basic position as soon as the force acting on it is removed.
- the engagement element is, according to the invention, a pinion that can be brought into engagement with a worm wheel of the drive.
- the electromotive drive is composed, according to the invention, of an electric motor and an output worm arranged on its output shaft. The output worm meshes with the worm wheel. If the electric motor drive fails, the engagement element with the pinion formed there can now be brought into engagement with the worm wheel. As a result, the electromotive drive or the actuating element acted upon by it can be moved, or at least reversed, with the aid of the manipulation element, to be precise independently of the electric motor.
- the engaging member generally braces against a base plate with the help of the spring.
- the drive unit is arranged between the base plate and the previously mentioned cover and is consequently accommodated in a protected manner between the base plate and the cover.
- the spring now ensures that the manipulation element is manually transferred from the basic position into the engaged position against the spring force. As soon as the manipulation element is not held in the engaged position against the force of the spring using the manipulation tool, the manipulation element automatically returns to the basic position.
- a guide for the actuating element and consequently for the manipulation element as a whole is additionally provided so that in this context proper functioning and no canting occur.
- This guidance is generally found in or on the cover.
- the design is usually such that the engagement element rests against the guide on the foot side in the basic position of the manipulation element. Accordingly, leadership has a dual function. On the one hand, it ensures that the manipulation element moves smoothly from the basic position to the engagement position and back. This is regularly done linearly along the guide.
- the guide with the engagement element resting on the guide on the foot side in the basic position ensures that the spring acting on the engagement element only biases the manipulation element into the basic position to such an extent that the actuating element in the said basic position is essentially aligned with the cover on the head side and also can flee.
- the guide also acts as a stop for the manipulation element in the basic position.
- a drive unit for motor vehicle applications is made available which, even in the event of a failure, in particular due to a function, at least allows manual reversing.
- the manipulation element which can be acted upon using a manipulation tool, must first be transferred from its basic position to the engagement position. Without being acted upon, the manipulation element returns from the engagement position to the basic position, so that an opening in the cover that is obligatory in this context is closed by the actuating element and contamination is avoided.
- the manipulation element located in the basic position ensures that the electric motor drive is not unnecessarily loaded. This is where the main advantages can be seen.
- a drive unit for motor vehicle applications is shown in the figures. Specifically and not restrictively, it is an electromotive opening drive unit as part of a motor vehicle door lock, which in a 1 shown motor vehicle door 1 is installed.
- the motor vehicle door 1 is equipped with an outer panel or outer door panel 1a and an inner panel or inner door panel 1b running predominantly parallel thereto. Both metal sheets 1a, 1b are coupled to one another on the face side of the motor vehicle door 1 by a connecting sheet metal 1c. That in the 1
- the motor vehicle door lock shown is now connected to the connecting panel 1c or coupled to it and extends in a known manner into a cavity between the outer panel 1a and the inner panel 1b. When the motor vehicle door 1 is open, the view of the connecting plate 1c and the motor vehicle door lock attached thereto is revealed.
- an L-shaped lock case 2 is implemented for this purpose in the exemplary embodiment.
- a lock housing 11 The lock case 2 and the lock housing 11 are mechanically connected to one another and provide an overall housing 2, 11 for a particular in the 2 recognizable locking mechanism 3, 4 as an essential part of the motor vehicle door lock.
- the locking mechanism 3, 4 consists of a rotary latch 3 and a pawl 4.
- an electric motor drive 6, 7, 8 is provided for this purpose.
- the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8 is used primarily to open the locking mechanism 3, 4 or generally to act on an actuating element 4.
- the actuating element 4 is the pawl 4.
- the electric motor 6 is equipped as part of the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8 in detail.
- the electric motor 6 has an output worm 7 arranged on its output shaft.
- the output worm 7 meshes with a worm wheel 8.
- the worm wheel 8 can consequently be in the 2 perform indicated rotations counterclockwise and clockwise around its axis 9.
- the worm wheel 8 can be in the 2 perform the indicated rotations.
- the worm wheel 8 is about its axis of rotation 9 in the 2 indicated counterclockwise applied.
- the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8 works on the pawl 4 as an actuator, which is lifted from its engagement with the catch 3 by a pin 10 provided on the worm wheel 8 .
- the locking bolt 12 moves away from the motor vehicle door lock via the opening mouth 5 so that the motor vehicle door 1 can be opened.
- a manually actuable manipulation element 13, 14 is then realized, the detailed structure of which is the subject of 3 is.
- the manipulation element 13, 14 is mostly formed in two parts with an actuating element 13 and an engagement element 14.
- the actuating element 13 and the engagement element 14 are designed as a one-piece plastic injection molded part. It can be seen that the manipulation element 13, 14 is let into an opening 15 in a cover 1c.
- the cover 1c is, not restrictively, the connecting plate 1c, which connects the outer plate 1a and the inner plate 1b of the motor vehicle door 1 to one another.
- the manipulation element 13, 14 is set up at least in its engagement position with the drive 6, 7, 8 for reversing it. That is, as soon as the manipulation element 13, 14 in its in the 3 is engaged position shown in dashed lines, the drive 6, 7, 8 can be reversed manually and mechanically using the manipulation element 13, 14. This is typically the case when there is a functional failure of the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8. The omission of the electrical energy supply can correspond to this.
- the actuating element 13 or the manipulation element 13, 14 has an actuating opening 16 for engaging a manipulation tool.
- Manipulation tool may be a screwdriver, key, coin, etc.
- the manipulation element 13, 14 can reverse the drive 6, 7, 8, the manipulation element 13, 14 according to the invention must first of its in the 3
- the basic position shown in solid lines can be transferred to the engagement position shown in dashed lines. This is done manually and against the force of a spring 17.
- the spring 17 in question is supported between the engagement element 14 as part of the manipulation element 13, 14 on the one hand and a base plate 18 on the other.
- the design is such that the drive unit shown or the motor vehicle door lock is held and protected as a whole between the connecting plate or the cover 1c and the base plate 18 in question inside the motor vehicle door 1 .
- the manipulation element 13 , 14 To the manipulation element 13, 14 to change from the solid shown basic position in the 3 into the engaged position shown in dashed lines, the manipulation element 13 , 14 is moved essentially perpendicularly to a drive plane E spanned by the drive 6 , 7 , 8 .
- the drive plane E in question is primarily spanned and specified by the worm wheel 8 as a component of the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8.
- the movement from the basic position into the engagement position now takes place perpendicularly to this drive plane E.
- the manipulation element 13, 14 has a guide 19.
- the guide 19 is a linear guide.
- the guide 19 is connected to the cover or the connecting plate 1c and defines the previously mentioned opening 15 for the actuating element 13 as part of the manipulation element 13, 14.
- the actuation opening 16 in the actuation element 13 is accessible from the outside, so that the manipulation tool in question can be applied at this point.
- the manipulation element 13, 14 In order to transfer the manipulation element 13, 14 from the basic position shown in solid lines to the engagement position shown in dashed lines, the manipulation element 13, 14 is acted upon by pressure or a force F in the direction of the arrow shown, specifically against the force of spring 17. As soon as the When the manipulation element 13, 14 has reached the engagement position shown in dashed lines, a rotation of the manipulation element 13, 14 results in the worm wheel 8 also being rotated as a result. The force F must be maintained here. As soon as the force F ceases, the spring 17 ensures that the manipulation element 13, 14 is returned from the engaged position to the basic position.
- the worm wheel 8 can also be moved if, for example, the electric motor 6 has failed.
- a pawl 4 that previously remained in a lifted state for example, can consequently be transferred to its basic position by reversing the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8, in which the pawl or the actuating element 4 engages and can engage in a latching manner in the rotary latch 3 moved into the closed position.
- the worm wheel 8 works via a cam 20 or the pin 10 on the actuating element or the pawl 4 in such a way that it locks the in the 2 shown closed position can take again, for example, if previously the electric motor drive 6, 7, 8 has stopped in the position of the pawl 4 shown in phantom. In this way, the desired emergency closure is achieved.
- the engagement element 14 is equipped with a pinion 21 which, in the engagement position of the manipulation element 13, 14, meshes with an external toothing of the worm wheel 8.
- this external toothing of the worm wheel 8 engages when a motor is applied of the worm wheel 8 with the help of the electric motor 6 or the output worm 7 on its output shaft the output worm 7 in question.
- the engagement element 14 in question in the basic position according to the 3 rests against the guide 19 on the foot side.
- the guide 19 not only ensures linear guidance of the manipulation element 13, 14 or the actuating element 13, but also acts as a stop for the engagement element 14 when the basic position is assumed.
- the guide 19 is equipped with such a length L that the actuating element 13 in the basic position shown in solid lines is essentially flush with the cover 1c on the head side.
- the basic position in question is then assumed automatically when the manipulation element 13, 14 is not (or no longer) acted upon by the manipulation tool using the force F. This ensures that the opening 15 present in the cover or the connecting plate 1c is regularly closed, so that no dirt or water can penetrate into the space between the cover 1c and the base plate 18 . This is where the main advantages can be seen.
