  • this universal plug can be connected to the conventional AC socket thanks to the bevelled edges of the shape of plug 15 in other word to the shape of universal plug.

  • Fig. 5b shows another embodiment where asymmetrical rectangular shape of the socket recess 18 is applied in order to prevent wrong plug connection without additional protrusion.
  • the shape of the universal plug also will not have any grooves but due to the asymmetrical shape keeps the feature of the connection to the DC socket only by single way without possibility to reverse.

  • Another important item of the DC socket concept is that an imaginary circuit 17 of the round recess of AC socket 4 can not be fitted into any of the above described asymmetrical DC sockets. The same is valid in a reverse way: the shape of the recess of the DC socket can not be fitted into the round recess of the AC socket.

Claims (2)

  1. Un connecteur électrique universel (15) comportant un corps de connecteur comprenant deux broches saillantes (11, 12) destinées à être insérées dans des ouvertures de prise (1, 6, 7) d'une prise de courant alternatif conventionnelle et d'une prise de courant continu asymétrique, et deux rainures de mise à la terre (13) formées respectivement sur les côtés supérieur et inférieur du corps de connecteur et s'étendant jusqu'aux deux faces d'extrémité du corps de connecteur, le corps de connecteur ayant une forme ronde et un diamètre du connecteur électrique universel (15) adapté pour correspondre à un diamètre d'un évidement circulaire (4) de la prise de courant alternatif conventionnelle, le connecteur électrique universel pouvant être branché dans la prise de courant alternatif avec possibilité d'inversion inversée par la forme symétrique de la prise de courant alternatif, caractérisé par une rainure supplémentaire (10) formée uniquement sur le côté gauche ou uniquement sur le côté droit du corps de connecteur, et en outre caractérisé en ce que la rainure supplémentaire (10) définit un emplacement et une polarité des broches saillantes (11, 12) lorsque ledit connecteur est branché sur la prise de courant continu, et une longueur d'un côté d'un carré de la prise de courant continu asymétrique ayant une saillie (8) sur un côté de son évidement de prise correspondant à la rainure (10) et faisant saillie dans ledit évidement qui empêche la connexion du connecteur électrique universel avec la prise de courant continu de manière inversée, et le connecteur électrique universel (15) peut être branché dans la prise de courant continu asymétrique uniquement d'une seule manière sans possibilité d'insertion inverse par la forme asymétrique du réceptacle symétrique de courant continu (9) avec la saillie située uniquement du côté d'une broche positive ou négative de la prise de courant continu.
  2. Le connecteur électrique universel selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la rainure (10) formant une forme asymétrique quelconque est située sur un axe parallèle à l'axe des deux rainures de mise à la terre (13).
