Abstract

Un ensemble culbuteur de véhicule comporte un élément de seuil externe et un élément de seuil interne fixé longitudinalement le long de l'élément de seuil externe pour définir un espace creux le long des et entre les éléments de seuil interne et externe. Un insert tubulaire est disposé dans l'espace creux de manière à s'étendre longitudinalement le long de l'espace creux. L'insert tubulaire présente une caractéristique de commande d'écrasement s'étendant longitudinalement le long d'une paroi de l'insert tubulaire, telle que des parois supérieure et inférieure sur des côtés opposés du volume intérieur. L'insert tubulaire est conçu pour que des forces d'impact latérales au niveau de l'élément de seuil externe déforment latéralement l'insert tubulaire au niveau de l'élément de commande d'écrasement pour fournir un écrasement latéral du type accordéon pour absorber les forces d'impact latérales.
