- the user In order to log the wheelchair 100 into the mobile device 1, the user, seating in the seat 102 of the wheelchair 100 reverses by manually powering the main wheels 104 of said wheelchair, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7. While reversing, the user drives the wheelchair 100 according to the invention between the mounting sections 29 of the mounting assembly of the opposite mobile assemblies 2 until the main wheels 104 of the wheelchair contact the rear supporting pin 33 of the mounting assembly of the individual mobile assemblies 2 and the drive sleeve 50 of the main wheel on the front supporting pin 32 of the mounting assembly of the corresponding mobile assemblies 2, as shown in Figs. 7 to 9. Simultaneously, the axles 106 of the main wheel of the wheelchair 100 enter the seats of the corresponding mounting sections 29 of the mounting assembly, as shown in Fig. 9.
- the expander 108 of the wheelchair enters the seat of the guide 45 of the seat levelling actuator and said expander 108 of the wheelchair contacts the open hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator, as shown in Fig. 7.
- the bringing of the expander 108 of the wheelchair in contact with the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator results in the self-locking of the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator on the expander 108 of the wheelchair.
- the user manually rotates the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator to lock the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator on the expander 108 of the wheelchair, as shown in Fig. 8.
- the user of the wheelchair 100 moves the lever 37 to snap the latch 36 of the latch mechanism of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2 on the axle 106 of the main wheel of the right main wheel 104 and the left main wheel 104, respectively, of the wheelchair, as shown in Figs. 9 and 10.

- the snapping of the latch mechanism 35 of a given mobile assembly 2 causes also the tightening of the corresponding main wheel 104 of the wheelchair on the front supporting pin 32 and the rear supporting pin 33, respectively and, consequently, on the drive sleeve 34 of the mobile assembly 2, arranged on one of these supporting pins 32, 33, shown in the Figs. 10 and 11.
- the user of the wheelchair 100 mounts the control panel 51 of the control system within the seat 102 of the wheelchair, as shown in Figs. 10 and 11.
- control panel 51 is realized in the form of a programme for a digital machine
- the mounting of the control panel 51 is realized by wireless logging of the programme of the digital machine, preferably digital machine of the user, into the controller assembly of the control system of the mobile device 1.
- the wheelchair 100 according to the invention is logged into the mobile device 1 according to the invention, which is ready to be used with the wheelchair 100 mounted thereon.
- the mobile device 1 In order to enable the mobile device 1 with the wheelchair 100 to move on a flat terrain, in particular in order to enable the mobile device 1 with the wheelchair to approach stairs, the mobile device 1 has to be reconfigured in order to set the wheel/wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly into a position supporting the mobile device 1 according to the invention.
- the cam-and-pulley assembly of the wheel assembly 18 of the transport mode is activated, which ejects the wheel/wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, and lifts the front section 3 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, above a flat terrain, as shown in Figs. 11 and 13.
- Reconfiguration of the mobile device 1 according to the invention from the idle mode to the transport mode, as described above, is realized by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by pressing a button on the control panel 51 for switching the mobile device 1 into the transport mode or by activating the pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the switching of the mobile device 1 into the transport mode.
- the mobile device 1 In the transport mode of the mobile device 1 with the wheelchair 100 logged in, the mobile device 1 rests on a flat terrain on the wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly of the transport mode and on the shock-absorbing wheels 24 of the shock- absorbing wheel assembly of the individual mobile assemblies 2, while the wheelchair 100 rests on the flat terrain on the main wheels 104 and the front wheels 105, as shown in Figs. 11 and 13.
- the front section 3 of the individual mobile assemblies 2 is oriented substantially parallel relative to the flat terrain is slightly lifted above it such that the tracks 9 of the front section 3 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, as shown in Figs. 11 and 13.
- the operation of the motor of the power transmission assembly 48 of the main wheel causes the powering of the drive sleeve 50 of the main wheel of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, which in turn causes the powering of the right main wheel 104 and the left main wheel 104 respectively, of the wheelchair 100 to rotate the corresponding main wheels 104 and thus to move the wheelchair 100.
- the mobile device 1 is configured for independent powering of the right main wheel 104 and the left main wheel 104 of the wheelchair, respectively, as described above, the wheelchair can move controllably with respect to the speed and the direction. In this mode, the mobile device according to the invention aids the wheelchair 100 according to the invention to move.
- the movement of the wheelchair 100 in the transport mode is realized by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by means of the joystick, by moving it in the direction in which the user intends to go, or by activating a pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the movement in the direction in which the user intends to go.
- the mobile device 1 In order to enable the movement of the mobile device 1 with the wheelchair 100 on stairs, the mobile device 1 must be reconfigured in order to set the mobile assemblies 2 of the mobile device for moving on stairs. To this end, the mobile device 1 is switched from the transport mode into the stair mode. The switching of the mobile device 1 from the transport mode into the stair mode starts by activating the reconfiguration assembly actuator 33. Extension of the controller 33 causes the powering of the lift assembly 40 of the reconfiguration assembly resulting in the lowering of the middle section 4 of the mobile assembly around the front wheel 11 of the middle section of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, while simultaneously retracting the shockabsorbing wheel 22 of the shock-absorbing wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, as shown in Figs.
- the shock-absorbing wheel 24 of the shock-absorbing wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly, respectively, of the mobile device 1 remains in contact with the flat terrain thus stabilizing the position of the wheelchair 100 on the mobile device 1, in particular, preventing the wheelchair 100 from falling backward together with the user.
- simultaneously activated is the cam-and-pulley assembly of the wheel assembly 18 of the transport mode, which retracts the wheel/wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, such that the wheel/wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly assume a position within the contour of the front section 3 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, simultaneously lowering the front of the front section 3 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly, respectively 2, causing the front section 2 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly, respectively, to rest on a flat terrain on the track 9 by the front wheel 7 of the front section, of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly, respectively, as shown in Figs.
- the cam 26 of the reconfiguration assembly is activated, causing the rear section 5 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, to rotate around the front wheel 15 of the rear section toward the back, as shown in Figs. 14 and 16 at particular stages and further upward to the position of climbing the first stair of a flight of stairs, as shown in Fig. 19.
- Reconfiguration of the mobile device 1 according to the invention from the transport mode to the stair mode, as described above, is realized by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by pressing a button on the control panel 51 for switching the mobile device 1 into the stair mode or by activating the pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the switching of the mobile device 1 into the stair mode.
- the mobile device 1 rests on a flat terrain on the track 9 of the front section and on the track 13 of the middle section of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, as shown in Fig. 19.
- the mobile device 1 in the stair mode rests on a flat terrain by means of the wheel 19 of the wheel assembly and/or the additional wheel 21 of the wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively (not shown in the figures), for example, but not limited to, on a rocker.
- the user In order to drive the wheelchair 100 on the mobile device 1 on stairs, the user, sitting in the seat 102 of the wheelchair, controls the power transmission assembly 46 of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, to approach stairs backwards until the track 17 of the rear section of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, touches the edge of the first stair of a flight of stairs, as shown in Fig. 22. Subsequently, the mobile device 1 climbs the first stair of a flight of stairs and further the consecutive stairs of the flight of stairs, as shown in Fig. 23.
- the seat 102 While moving on stairs, the seat 102 is automatically levelled by means of the seat levelling assembly 42 through extending and shortening the seat levelling assembly actuator 43, thus preventing the user from falling out of the wheelchair 100.
- the wheel 19 of the wheel assembly and/or the additional wheel 21 of the wheel assembly of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively is mounted on a rocker, as described above, as they climb over the edge of a stair they oscillate up and down, thus preventing the lifting of the front wheel 7 of the front section of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, of the mobile device 1.
- the wheel 19 of the wheel assembly can be moved such that it is within the contour of the front section 3 of the mobile assembly, as described above, during the movement of the mobile device 1 according to the invention with the wheelchair 100 according to the invention, the wheel 19 of the wheel assembly does not collide with stairs.
- the mobile device 1 climbs over the edge of the last stair of a flight of stairs, the mobile device 1 rests on the staircase landing by the front part of the middle section 4 of the mobile assembly, the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, as shown in Fig. 24.
- the mobile device 1 according to the invention After climbing over the last stair of a flight of stairs, the mobile device 1 according to the invention with the wheelchair 100 according to the invention starts to move on a flat terrain, that is, on the flat terrain behind stairs or a staircase landing.
- the mobile device 1 moves on a staircase landing in the configuration of the mobile device in the stair mode, as described above, wherein the seat 102 of the wheelchair is levelled by the seat levelling actuator 43.
- the movement of the wheelchair 100 in the stair mode on a staircase landing or when approaching consecutive stairs over short distances is realized by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by means of the joystick, by moving it in the direction in which the user intends to go on stairs, or by activating a pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the movement in the direction in which the user intends to go on stairs.
- the mobile device 1 according to the invention When the user has climbed stairs and there are no more stairs to climb or when the user does not intend to climb any more stairs, the mobile device 1 according to the invention is switched into the transport mode. In the transport mode, the mobile device 1 according to the invention has the configuration, as described in detail above. In order to reconfigure the mobile device 1 according to the invention from the stair mode to the transport mode, said activities are carried out in the reverse order, as described in detail above with regard to reconfiguring the mobile device 1 according to the invention from the transport mode to the stair mode.
- Reconfiguration of the mobile device 1 according to the invention from the stair mode to the transport mode is realized by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by pressing a button on the control panel 51 for switching the mobile device 1 into the transport mode or by activating the pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the switching of the mobile device 1 into the transport mode.
- the wheelchair can be logged out of the mobile device 1.
- Logging out that is, disconnecting the wheelchair 100 from the mobile device starts when the mobile device 1 with the wheelchair 100 is in the transport mode, as described in detail above.
- the above activities are carried out in the reverse order, as described in detail above with regard to logging the wheelchair 100 into the mobile device 1.
- the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator is released, thus releasing the levelling assembly actuator 43 from the expander 108 of the wheelchair.
- the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator is released by the user manually.
- the hitch is released by the user by rotating the hitch shape with a handle following releasing the lock.
- the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator is released by means of the control panel 51 of the control system, for example, by pressing a button on the control panel 51 for logging out the mobile device 1 or by activating the pictogram on the programme interface on the digital device, representing the logging out of the mobile device.
- the user of the wheelchair 100 moves the lever 37 of the latch mechanism thus releasing the latch 36 of the latch mechanism of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively from the axle 106 of the main wheel of the right main wheel 104 and the left main wheel 104 of the wheelchair, respectively.
- the lever 37 of the latch mechanism of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively can be moved following pressing the button 38 on the corresponding lever 37 of the latch mechanism.
- the user while logging the wheelchair 100 out of the mobile device 1, the user must first move the lever 37 of the latch mechanism thus releasing the latch 36 of the latch mechanism of the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively, from the axle 106 of the main wheel of the right main wheel 104 and the left main wheel 104 of the wheelchair, respectively, as described above, and subsequently releases the hitch 44 of the seat levelling actuator, as described above. Finally, the user disconnects the control panel 51 of the control system and places it in the mobile device 1, as shown in Fig. 1, as a result of which, the mobile device 1 detects the logging out of the wheelchair 100 from the mobile device 1.
- the logging out of the wheelchair 100 from the mobile device 1 is realized via wireless logging out of the programme of the digital machine from the controller assembly of the control system of the mobile device 1.
- the wheelchair 100 is not coupled with any component of the mobile device 1 and the user drives out from between the mounting sections 29 of the mounting assembly by manually powering the main wheels 104 of the wheelchair.
- the mobile device is in the idle mode, as shown in Figs. 1 to 4, and is ready for use again by logging into it the same or another wheelchair 100.
- the term “terrain” as used herein is a support on which the mobile device 1 according to the invention may move as a result of the components of the mobile device 1 , in particular the tracks 9, 13, 17 of the mobile assemblies, the wheels 19, 21 of the wheel assembly and/or shock-absorbing wheels 24 of the shock- absorbing wheel assembly engaging the support.
- the term “terrain” as used herein includes a flat terrain and stairs.
- the term “flat terrain ’ as used herein refers to a flat surface on which the mobile device 1 and/or the wheelchair 100 is able to move.
- the term “flat terrain” as used herein refers but is not limited to a staircase landing, a building floor, a sidewalk, a road, a parking lot.
- stairs refers to an architectural element comprising at least one stair defining a difference between levels.
- stairs refers but is not limited to one stair, two stairs, three stairs, a flight of stair, a curb.
- the above-described mobile device 1 is described as comprising a mounting section 29 comprising a tip 31 with a latch mechanism 35 arranged within said tip 31, whereas the wheelchair 100 comprises axles 106 of the main wheel with a flange 107 arranged on the main wheels 104, respectively, and adapted for coupling with the latch mechanism 35 on the right mobile assembly 2 and the left mobile assembly 2, respectively.
- the mounting section of the mobile device comprises a handle mounted on the arm of the mounting section.
- the wheelchair comprises caps mounted on the hubs of the main wheels of the wheelchair.
- the caps on the hubs of the main wheels are mounted in the axles of these main wheels of the wheelchair.
- the caps of the main wheels of the wheelchair cooperate with the handles of the arms of the mounting section of the mobile assemblies of the mobile device.
- the handles on the arms of the mounting section of the mobile device and the caps on the hubs of the main wheels of the wheelchair may be those disclosed in the Polish patent application No. PL 420785 A, whose content is attached herein entirely by way of a reference.
