La caractéristique principale du presse-étoupe (A) est qu'il comprend au moins une chambre de stockage (36) qui est située sur ledit élément d'étanchéité (30) et qui fournit un stockage prêt à être utilisé pour le matériau d'étanchéité (40) et au moins une arête (32) qui est placée sur au moins une extrémité dudit élément d'étanchéité (30) et qui empêche le matériau d'étanchéité (40) de sortir de ladite chambre de stockage (36).
