Abstract

Dans différents modes de réalisation, l'invention concerne des méthodes de détection d'un cancer, une méthode consistant à : prélever un échantillon contenant des fluides ou des cellules biologiques sur un sujet ou un être humain; isoler des vésicules extracellulaires (EV) ayant une plage de diamètres sélectionnée; déterminer la présence et la concentration d'une ou d'au moins deux protéines, l'haptoglobine (HP) et la catalase (CAT), dans la plage de diamètres sélectionnée de l'échantillon; et corréler la présence d'une combinaison de la ou des au moins deux protéines avec une source de l'échantillon, le cancer ayant été détecté positivement si HP et CAT sont détectées individuellement, ou si HP et CAT sont toutes deux détectées. L'invention concerne également des méthodes de traitement, de réduction des symptômes ou de diminution du risque de récidive d'un cancer, consistant en l'administration, à un individu qui en a besoin, d'un anticorps (Ab) ou d'un fragment de liaison à l'antigène (Ag) qui se lie spécifiquement à l'haptoglobine (HP) et/ou à un complexe haptoglobine-hémoglobine.
